Revenge
Isabelle
The loud shout of Alistair buzzed around the room leaving every element shaken for a while, the disappointed sounds made by Draven and Julian were heard too but my gaze only remained at Kaden.
The locket had slowly started dissolving into his body, I could see the powers transferring into him through the skin of the middle of his chest. The rays began turning harsher as the seconds passed and the discomfort started becoming apparent in Kaden.
His eyes squeezed shut and a low hiss slipped past his lips, I leaned forward pressing my forehead against his.
I knew there would be discomfort at first, the Supreme powers that get mixed in his blood and travel through his veins would need to get in there, and the excruciating pain would be there too but in the end...he would be safe and sound.
"It's only for a few minutes," I whispered pulling away to look at him, grabbing onto his hand and interlocking our fingers, "The pain isn't long-lasting, you are going to be fine...I promise."
Kaden's hold on my hand tightened as the shifting of the locket began rapidly. Second, by second, I saw the locket finally melting into his skin.
Suddenly the coldness in Kaden's body faded in a blink and his eyes fluttered open; They weren't black like all the other times, this time amidst the darkness the intense flame remained there.
I could feel the heat and stability radiating from his body, his skin shined like moonlight, his woodsy smell got powerful wiping away the metallic smell of his blood, there was this extremely powerful aura that I could realize just by having him close to me.
Despite all this chaos going on, I could feel the love shining in his orbs. The warmth that shone in them and made its way to my heart made the very familiar devotion bloom.
He slowly sat up facing me, his hand moving to wipe the tear I hadn't noticed escaping my eyes. A soft smile appeared on his lips as he gazed at me as if I was the first and last thing he'd ever look at.
"I love you...." He whispered and then he sealed my lips in a kiss.
The longing and passion getting through each of the brushes of his lips, the gentle caressing of his thumb on my cheek, and the peace taking over my entire existence at the evidence that I had not lost this time, I have saved my mate and he was here....with me.
As he broke the kiss and his hand moved to his arm, I became hyperaware of the cut on my hand that was given by Draven and the winch slipped past my lips on its own.
I had not gotten a second to think about it or heal the wound.
Kaden's law clenched looking at the wound, but the control he had over himself did not make an immediate move instead, he gently kissed my forehead and pressed his hand over my wound.
The dark smoke began roofing my arm and gathering around his palm and I realized the feeling of the skin getting back together sealing the gash in the process.
A small recognition passed through me watching him heal my wound, the lock brought these new capabilities within himself, and unlike my healing rays, his one was black.
"Kaden...I...." I tried speaking, looking for words to fill my sentence but couldn't find any.
"You don't need to say anything," He spoke lightly shaking his head, and then added, "Just watch me dragging them to their death inch by inch."
As if that was everything my ears wanted to hear, the entire dilemma within me faded. I found myself nodding and letting out the breath I hadn't realized I was holding on till now.
Slowly the winds faded as I let the restraints fall.
Draven, Julian, and Alistar--Three of them stood there and looked at us as though they still couldn't adjust to the reality that the locket that had kept me alive for so many years was now out of their reach for forever.
The powers were no longer there for them to snatch, but the wrath was there for them to face.
The shock was there on their faces, the rage was in each of their eyes. But no longer the confidence that had put them over the top of the empire that was built on the pain and sufferings of countless people.
I saw Kaden standing on his feet, taking a hold of my hand to help me get up.
"Just watch, Isabelle..." He spoke, his voice low and suppressed by the beast inside of him.
And then he began advancing towards them, the sword in Julian's hand dropped as he snapped out of his surprised gaze.
A low growl escaped from Alistair and not deciding to run away for his life he chose to attack Kaden with all force. His fist came colliding against Kaden's jaw but this didn't affect him the slightest bit. The mere chuckle was all the reaction Alistair got from him.
Without saying anything Kaden punched him back and this left him flying to the other side of the room, his body landing on the broken glass pieces of the window and a few got punctured into the skin on his face.
Julian decided to pounce at Kaden but before he could even reach him, Jason grabbed him and slammed him against the wall. The harsh impact made a groan tear from Julian's throat that got louder as Jason punched him in the stomach.
I saw Julian dropping to the floor on his knees clutching onto his stomach. Something about that sight was oddly satisfying, something I relished.
The want of revenge stirring awake, they want to see the blood flowing out of their filthy body.
"You fucking bastard..." Alistair attempted to advance toward Jason but Kaden was in front of him in a blink and his hand grabbed his throat lifting him up and then throwing him against the wall as if he was some rag doll that weight nothing.
The painful hiss left Alistair's mouth too but he was not the one to give up, the anger shone in his gray eyes, and growling he ran towards Kaden. The dark spells circulated his fingertips however they did not succeed to reach Kaden as they were demolished just by the glance of Kaden before the demon could even use them.
Alistair looked taken aback at the sudden failure, the shock roofing over his features, and his feet slowed down.
Kaden took the opportunity of his short-lasting distraction and he grabbed the dagger that had fallen on the ground and with a swift move he had the dagger inserted into Alistair's stomach.
Those very grey eyes of his that had always relished the sight of innocent's suffering widened at the realization, a low sound left his mouth out of pain and his eyes looked at the dagger that was now dug deep into his stomach and then at Kaden.
There was this strange disbelieve in his eyes as though he couldn't accept his end. The poison of his dagger wouldn't let him be alive for long even if he healed from the injury, the very same dagger he had used to stab into my dad's heart was now bringing him closer to his death.
He couldn't defeat Kaden today, none could stop him.
"You..." Alistair's voice shook as he gritted through his teeth but his words remained incomplete as Kaden twisted the dagger ending up his sentence with a low groan.
Watching his dear brother getting stabbed into his stomach, Draven's shock-filled haze had broken. Shouting he ran towards the sight to pounce on Kaden but Carter had stopped him before he could even reach my mate by grabbing the monster in a chokehold.
"The tables have turned Alistair Giardini and now even god can't save you.." Kaden spoke and in a flash, he pulled out the dagger causing the loud sound to emit from Alistair before he stabbed it again but this time deeper than prior.
Julian's pathetic attempt to save his brother went in vain as Jason punched him in the face, the blood spilled out of his nose and his head against the wall.
The brutal sight of these events going around caused the tears to gather in my eyes, not because I felt pity for them but because of the flashback that started to wash over me of how they had ruined my life that night.
How much cruelty they had shown me that night.
How Draven who was now struggling to breathe had wrapped his fingers around my injured sister's fragile neck and choked her. How Alistair who had now a pool of his own blood on blood on the floor had shown once had made me experience the worst nightmare little by little with the sight of my family getting killed. How Julian had pierced my mum's throat with the sharp edge of the sword.
They deserved it...they deserved every bit of it. They deserved to see their bodies getting torn apart, hear the sound of their blood flowing out of the stump of their throat, their limbs getting dismembered in front of their eyes, and not be able to do anything.
They deserved to fall to death but slowly and painfully.
Alistair's dropped to the ground and his skin started getting blue because of the poison, the pain was evident beneath those tears that covered his eyes. A helpless state of him I had never got to see before.
"Be ready to go to hell, piece of shit!" Jason spoke grabbing the sword and attempting to pierce through Julian's stomach but before he could fulfill his motive Kaden's voice interrupted before even Alistair could.
"Jason, Don't."
The surprise drew upon Jason's features upon his statement. Confused, He looked at him, and then Kaden spoke.
"They should be killed but by Isabelle's hands only...." he said, "The revenge would be taken but by the one who had been wronged."
Kaden looked at me, his orbs gleaming in indistinguishable rage.
My eyes moved to glance at each of the rulers of the dark, the Giardini brothers who had once turned my entire life upside down under this same roof. The brutal events they showed me without any mercy, the reality that still creeps inside like a never-ending nightmare.
Every cell of my body began awakening with rage, the sight of their faces provoking the horrendous memories hitting me like a frantic wave. The pace of my breathing got heavier as the uncontrollable anger exploded.
"Yes, they'll die but in my hands..." I spoke up.
All the mercy and forgivable mindset had left my body, the only thing left was the unstoppable rage and the want of revenge that would soon make go as brutal as the demons were.
