Owner of the locket
Isabelle
I looked at Kaden who was now peacefully sleeping with his head on my lap and with his body situated on the cushion of the seat of the limo, he had allowed himself to lay on his side in his sleep.
Last night was certainly one of the most.....memorable ones I could say. Of course, the touches of his lips still could be felt against my skin. As he had said, he hadn't stopped still the sun went up.
I only got probably one of two hours of sleep after and Kaden got none because he and others heeded to prepare to leave early for the home.
Kaden had insisted I sleep after we had at inside the limo but I didn't feel as tired as he might have thought so I by myself guided his head to rest on my thighs and just as I had expected he went into deep doze within a few minutes. Apparently, my fingers massaging his scalp helped him sleep even better.
I saw Jason winking at Cassandra which caused her to blush and look away, this was when I noticed the hickey on her neck.
For the first time ever in my life, a mischievous idea popped into my mind. I found myself trying hard to stop the smile that fought to display on my lips.
"Cassandra? What's that mark on your neck?" My question instantly made her eyes widen, her lips parted and her hand flew to cover the mark.
"Oh, it's nothing...I have some allergic issues," She seemed to be failing in presenting the lie accordingly.
"Allergic issue or Jason made them?" The chuckle slipped past my lips and the furious blush shaded her cheeks, Jason on the other hand looked at me wide-eyed.
"Caught, aren't we?" Carter laughed looking at Jason and gave a rise to the blush on Cassandra's face.
"Uh--I-I..." She tried saying something but ended up miserably failing to form any sentence.
"Next time ask Jason to make them less noticeable, maybe that can help you cover it up with any excuse," I teased and Carter whistled up in the completion of my sentence.
"Isabelle, you rock!"
"Carter, don't shout! If Kaden hears this he'll probably strangle me to death." Jason said in dismay and this made a laugh tear from my throat.
Little did they know that Kaden was well aware of the bond between Jason and Cassandra?
Before I could say anything, the man who I had presumed was asleep spoke up, "Kaden will do no such thing because he respects his sister's and friend's choices."
The silence stretched across that limo at his statement he spoke out with his eyes closed and head still resting on my lap.
The shock covered everyone's face except for me, Jason looked as if he had been thrown from the top floor. Cassandra looked speechless.
Carter's reaction was quite interesting as his mouth was wide open.
"Close your mouth, Carter, you don't want a fly in there." Still, with his eyes closed, Kaden chuckled and Carter instantly shut his mouth looking flabbergasted.
The mere movement Kaden did after finishing his sentence was he shifted a bit so that he could lay on his front and bury his face in my lap letting out a soft sigh of relaxation that made his breath hit my stomach over my crop top.
"Next time, tune down your conversations because I certainly am having a good nap here on my mate's lap." With that, he fell back silent again.
The smile broke on my lips watching everyone's reaction, I had to bite my bottom lip to stop the loud laughter. It was hilarious how they reacted to Kaden's revelation.
I didn't look at them anymore to stop them from burning red in blush, both of them were now looking everywhere but not at each other. Of course, their blush was evident on their faces.
I looked at Kaden, even though his face was not exactly in my view I could actually feel the smile on his face.
A very own smile of mine tugged at my lips and I lightly tangled my fingers into his hair locks, playing with them a bit feeling the silkiness of each strand.
"You made them shy," I lowly whispered knowing that everyone was too occupied with their thoughts to use their superhearing in order to hear us.
"I know," He chuckled, I could notice the grogginess in his voice, "At least now they won't be scared of me anymore."
"Of course, they won't, "I snickered leaning closer and placing a kiss on the side of his face.
His one hand moved to take a hold of my hand and place it further into his hair, it took me less than a second that he wanted those prior massages that helped him fall asleep.
Without any delay, I obliged by beginning lightly grazing my nails on his scalp a sigh of satisfaction slipped past his lips.
As the time passed I watched him slowly fall asleep and looking more adorable than ever, he was letting out light snores that could barely be heard.
Watching him being here in my arms peacefully in sleep made the familiar warmth bloom on my chest, the gentle caress of happiness and contentment swept me through.
I had thought of making the decision that I had taken that day when I showed him the locket come true yesterday but it couldn't be possible due to the unexpected change of event both I and the Lycan laying on my lap was responsible for.
But tonight I was determined on fulfilling the duty I was given.
I had found the protector and the person who could be responsible for this locket, who could protect the world beside me, and a thing that my mother couldn't get to mention...love me.
None else in this world could deserve to get this locket more than Kaden. And tonight was the time when I was finally going to finish the responsibility and give it to the right hands...the owner of the locket.
The person who owns my heart shall own this locket too before the demons come and threaten to tear us apart.....
