Isabelle
My soul got shaken once I looked at the Bungalow that was once my...home.
Everything looked the same--The fountain that I could remember the guards breaking down that night was now repaired the way it was, the broken windows of the bungalow were replaced with the new glasses, the same swing which I and Orabelle used to use every single day had been painted with the same color.
They have repaired the place they'd had destroyed only to destroy it again but this time...with me. They wanted to wipe off my existence with this bungalow where they'd eradicated all my dreams in an hour.
I didn't want to go inside...I didn't want to remember those painful events--The screams of my sister, the sight of my mom's death, and my dad's last breath. I didn't want to remember all those events again.
But the guards were dragging me inside and with my refusal, the task had been taken by Draven who grabbed my forearm and dragged me inside the mansion until I was sitting under the chandelier.
He hardly threw me against the ground leaving me to fall on my knees and hand, the singing sensation cutting through the skin on my knee and my hands.
I whimpered in pain and before I could get myself to stand up, Julian walked towards me and grabbed a fistful of my hand, and forced me to stand up on my feet. His grip was so harsh that I felt like my skull would fall off my body.
"See it, Isabelle. Look at your home, the same place your parents made in the wish to stay for a long long time...."
As much as I wanted to close my eyes but they on their own drifted to look around the room, the nameplates on each door--Orabelle's room came into my view resulting in the first tear to slide down my cheek, mom and dad's room and finally on the one which I had claimed as my room.
The memories of Orabelle giggling with a tiger costume wrapped around her small frame and scaring me flashed in front of my eyes and this time they closed, the shaky breath automatically left my mouth.
"Look at the toy room, Isabelle. Your parent's and sister's skeletons might still be there, let's check...shall we?" Draven's venom-filled voice's question shattered all of my courage.
I looked at him and shook my head, "Please, d-don't."
I couldn't bear looking at them in that state. I just couldn't.
The smirk on Draven's face widened and the chuckle from Julian was what I heard, Alistair was silently watching his brothers following his footsteps as he stood a few feet away.
A look of amusement mixed with the menace that shaded his face reminded me of that same nightmare I had faced years ago in this same place.
"Let's show you some memories of your family," With that being said Julian dragged me inside the toy room despite my continuous attempts to stop him.
They never had any mercy and they never would.
Soon as I found myself in the toy room, my eyes fell on three skeletons laying in the middle of it.
My eyes widened and a gasp escaped my mouth, I couldn't breathe.
The painful knot formed in the middle of my throat, the sob trying to break through but my uneven breathing overpowered the urge to cry. Every cell of my body shook in terror.
The faces of my parents and Orabelle flashed in front of my eyes but the sight of the skeletons made my heart shrink. I couldn't accept the fact that those lifeless fossils were of my parents but how could I even deny when I knew they murdered over a decade ago?
"You want to touch them? Let's see if they become alive with the touch of your angelic hands..." Draven's mocking laugh broke through the daze.
As he attempted to push me towards the Skeletons before I even knew I had joined my hands in front of him.
"Please don't do this, I beg you," The tears freely ran down my cheeks, the helplessness dressed as the mere droplets, the years of sufferings hiding beneath that mere plea I managed to utter.
I was breaking down...
I was completely breaking--Standing under the same roof, the same room where I had experienced the horror, trapped between the walls that screamed out the dark past. I didn't have the strength to hold myself together.
My move caused his amusement to increase, even more, Julian laughed out loud walking closer to me and grabbing my wrist before he had dragged me towards the skeletons. My continuous pleas didn't manage to sprout any mercy in him.
"You shouldn't deny like that, see your family. Look at them..." He cooed.
"Please don't..." I plead and closed my eyes, refusing to look at the sight.
"Open those beautiful eyes, let them take the last look. You are getting to see your parents after years, there's your sister too. Your sweet sister... Oh, the pillars still have the stains of her blood, see. " I heard Draven's voice.
I whimpered shaking my head and tried to free myself from Julian's grip but it was too strong, his nails were almost digging into my arms.
"I said look at them!" This time Julian shouted and shook me.
The loud and harsh movement of his made me open my eyes flutter, and they met with his gray ones. On one hand, there was this terrifying feeling that made me want to run away as far as possible but again I was aware that I was trapped
I had no way to escape but to experience the horror.
Ever so slowly I forced my eyes to spot the bloodstain of Orabelle on the wall and then the skeletons, the pain reappearing but now the feeling of something hard piercing through my heart resulted in the sob that was the only reaction that happened without letting me know.
"Mom...dad," I suppressed my cry by putting my hand over my mouth, "Orabelle...."
I couldn't even see the sight properly since the tear had rapidly blurred my vision. I couldn't breathe. It was too painful to bear.
"These skeletons are not of your parents and sister, Isabelle..." Alistair who was hadn't said a word till now decided to speak.
His eyes were dark and cold as always, the menace still shining in them but not making them apparent because there was something that seemed to be good on underneath those gray shaded spheres.
I found myself looking at Alistair with shock. Julian and Draven's lips curved into a smirk at their brother's announcement, they had known it from the start.
"Here is your family..." He pulled out a glass Jar, the ashes remained at the end of the jar reaching to the middle.
It took me a moment to realize that those were the ashes of my parents and sister......
No cry, no sob or whimper that managed to break through this time. It was the silence that shrouded my insides. I could only stare at them blankly as Alistair walked closer with slow steps.
"Unfortunately the skeletons were not in the state to be out together so we had to burn them and now you have it," Draven chuckled, "Sweet little family in the Jar."
I couldn't react, I didn't know why but everything was going numb. My stare had got fixated on the Jar.
This time I knew they were not lying, Alistair never lied. Out of all the sins he had done, he had never done one thing and that was lying.
The ashes were of my parents and sister.
Alistair silently stood in front of me and handed me the Jar, my hands had taken it before I even knew. The tears from my eyes landed on the top of it as I fell on my knees.
My parents...And Orabelle now only existed in mere ashes.
The agonizing cry of mine echoed the bungalow as I pulled the Jar closer to my chest. The grief for the loss of my family hitting the weak spots the strongest, my heart thundered against my chest.
I had never gotten the chance to grieve over the loss of my loved ones....never got to look at the sky and tell them how much I missed them, never found the opportunity to finally accept that I have lost them.
The reality had struck me like a racing truck today.
These people have snatched everything from me even the last hope I had to live my life with Kaden. The tears were not only for the pain anymore, it was the rage that stirred awake.
The want of revenge I had never felt before....to return them the cruelty they had shown me all these years. The hopelessness they have burdened me with, the pain, the sufferings everything.
"I'll stay strong dad....I'll stay strong..." I whispered holding the Jar closer to me, "I'll fulfill my duty, mom. I'll not let the locket get into the wrong hands. Orabelle, I'll pay back every tear that shed from your eyes that night....the screams that left your mouth because of these heartless monsters." My voice grew low at the end.
The years of trauma created the storm of rage that wanted nothing other than wiping the existence of these demons so that no other Isabelle would have to lose her family, the dreams, and live a life that she had never thought of even in her nightmares.
"Did you hear her, Alistair? Little shit is making promises to her family." I heard Draven's laugh and then he grabbed my arms forcing me to my feet.
"What do you think huh? You will be able to escape from here or do you think your mate will magically appear and save you?" Her nails dug into my skin, the stinging sensation burned through but no sound left my mouth.
For the first time, I didn't look away from their eyes that always prompted the fear, triggered the wounds that I always wanted to keep covered.
The lack of fear in my eyes was what caused Draven to get more furious.
His grip on me tightened, "Answer the damn question!"
"I am not going to answer any of your questions!" I shouted and using my one hand I pushed at his chest. The move of mine left him stumbling backward.
His eyes went wide in shock.
I could feel the impacted expression of Julian too but I didn't care to look at him.
"You all are bloody monsters, selfish and disgusting!" I spat, "You all call me pathetic but it's the three of you who are pathetic. You all don't even realize that your end is so close....only a step away."
"And who's going to end us huh?" Julian angrily marched towards me and grabbed my Jaw, "Your dead parents and sister or you or your mate who might never figure it out where we have brought you?"
"Don't touch me with your filthy hands!" I shouted and removed his grip.
My hand that was protectively holding the ashes of my parents closer to my chest moved to keep the jar on the table at the corner.
"A disgusting creature like you can only suppress the innocent, scaring them. All you do is rule upon others' fear without knowing.... that if the fear wipes away, it will turn into the storm that will erase your existence!"
"Shut up you piece of shit! If you even say another word then....." Draven began with his threatening voice but I cut him off.
"Then what? What will you do?! Did you all leave any horror that I have yet to face? No! You all can't hurt me anymore. You all have passed the limits!"
"You pathetic thing..." Julian couldn't finish as Alistair's loud voice interrupted.
"Enough!" Alistair's cold glare was set on me.
He marched towards me and grabbed my throat, his fingers tightly closing around making it difficult for me to breathe.
"I had thought keeping you alive for a little more but no, you have summoned the death just like your parents." He spoke through gritted teeth and the pressure of his grip increased.
I saw him pulling out the dagger and positioning it right beside my stomach, the sharp edge almost punctured in my skin.
"This was the end Alistair has written for you, and this is what is going to happen." He spoke and before he could stab the dagger into my stomach three loud broke through.
The loud howls took over and Alistair's hand stopped where it was, his body froze too.
The shouts and noises that I could assume were from the guards and there were the howls that raised my hopes...
"Don't be so happy, Isabelle because you won't get the chance to be rescued." Alistair's low voice made my gaze move to him and then I saw him raising the dagger in the intention to stab me.
My eyes widened and my lips parted at realization but then a sudden force hit Alistair.
Alistair's grip on me was no more, the dagger was on the ground and his body hit the opposite wall. The loud sound of the impact made the room shake.
It all happened so quickly that I could barely realize it.
Draven and Julian looked at the sight with shock and then I felt the hand sliding around my waist and the smell of wafting into my nostrils. The tingles spread throughout my skin and my eyes moved to see his face.
"Kaden, "The whisper slipped past my lips, my hands automatically moved to touch his face to make myself believe that he was actually here, "You are here..."
"Yes, I am," He breathed out, he seemed to be going through the same feeling like me, "I am here." He leaned in kissing on my forehead made my eyes close on their own.
Without thinking of anything else I pulled him in a hug, burying my head into his neck and letting myself bask in the comfort of his embrace. The tears again took place but this time, they were there because of the happiness his presence brought within me
He was here....for me.
"I thought I'd never get to see you, again!" I choked on the sob, holding him as tightly as possible.
"No more tears, I am here..." He shook my head making me look at him and wiped my tears, "Now you will watch the demons paying for their sins, watch them receiving the death without any mercy." His voice grew low as he glanced at the figures of Draven and Julian behind me.
Their glare was set on Kaden too, but there was more surprise than anger when they looked at their brother as if they couldn't believe Kaden have managed to strike Alistair.
"Where are others?" I asked him, my voice was a mere whisper.
"They are taking good care of the guards." He answered snickering and slowly pushed me behind his back, protecting me from even the stares of Alistair and his brothers.
"A good move you have used Kaden Moretti," The voice of Alistair diverted my attention, and I saw him slowly standing up whilst a chuckle left his mouth.
"But you have written your own death on the list along with Isabelle.." He ever so calmy dusted off his shirt smoothing out the crease that appeared because of Kaden's attack.
"It's your misconception, Alistair. That night you won because you used the weaknesses of Isabelle and your family but tonight you have to get to Isabelle after crossing me and let me remind you--I have got no weakness."
"We all know what your weakness is Kaden, don't think you can fool us," Draven spoke up, his eyes glanced at me and there was a twitch at the corner of his lips.
Unexpectedly a smile spread on Kaden's lips upon his statement," Isabelle is not my weakness, she is my strength and the only reason why I am here today to send you all where you deserve to be--Hell."
"I don't need weakness to defeat anyone, Kaden Moretti. And you will find that out very soon." Alistair spoke.
"We'll see about that."
I glanced at Kaden then at Alistair in dismay and before I could even figure anything out they both collided in their super speed and Kaden hit left Alistair flying to the other side of the room again.
