Touch
Isabelle
The soft caressing on my cheek was what made me wake up, I slowly opened my eyes but soon as the sunlight peeking through the curtains hit my face I closed them and buried my face into something soft and warm.
A manly chuckle made the quick recognition pass my mind and I found out that it was Kaden's neck I had made my small hiding spot from the harsh sun rays.
"Good morning," He whispered closer to my ear causing the shiver to run down my body.
"Good morning," I mumbled making no more to get up.
"Sleep well, Angel?" He asked.
"Uh-huh, I hadn't slept this peacefully for years," I admitted snuggling closer to his body, his body heat was too comfortable to stay away from.
"You can sleep with me from now if you want to,"
His offer was what made me look at him, "Really?" I was surprised, I hadn't expected him to say this but it made me feel happier and more likely relaxed.
"Of course, but only if that's okay with you." He smiled leaning down to kiss the bridge of my nose. The action made the smile appear on my lips.
"Thank you, Kaden," I spoke and without thinking twice I leaned and pressed my lips on his cheek, my movement resulted in his body getting frozen for a moment but he recovered from the daze soon.
"You are welcome," He brushed away the pieces of hair strands that fell on my face, his eyes settled on me for a while as if he was admiring. The thoughtful smile on his face never faded.
A few minutes passed before he slowly began getting up, "Our breakfast going to be here, soon. You need to finish your whole breakfast this time, for your quick recovery."
"Okay," I giggled and sat up.
"You should laugh more often," He spoke and leaned in to caress my cheek.
"I should?" I couldn't hold on to my smile.
"Yeah," He nodded, "It makes you look even more pretty."
"You think I'm pretty?"
"Without any doubt," He instantly responded, his eyes expressing he was saying the truth, "You are the prettiest." The comment made me blush, and I knew he noticed it as his eyes flickered with that surreal glint.
As if the sunlight has made his features more noticeable and the shine on his increase to become evident, my eyes involuntarily drifted to notice each of his details. He was beautiful. His dark eyes, the silky hair that matched his eye color, his slightly tanned skin tone, and the sharp jawline with the stubble that suited him perfectly.
He was just...perfect.
Suddenly my eyes trailed down his naked chest, his muscles were prominent and wave-like as if someone had shaped them like the sculpture. His shoulders were broad and his arms strong like a warrior.
My hand automatically reached to lightly graze my fingertips on his muscles below his chest. I heard him intake a sharp breath and I instantly withdrew my hand.
His eyes were now tightly closed and his jaw tight, I noticed that his hands had turned into fists.
"Sorry," I hurriedly spluttered, "Did I hurt you?"
Upon my question, he quickly opened his eyes. His expression softened, "Not at all, it's just...it's hard to explain." he seemed to be at a loss for words.
A short-lasting silence stretched across the room before Kaden spoke, "Do you want to touch them?" He asked, it wasn't hard to notice that he was talking about his muscles that'd suddenly turned into a huge attraction to me.
I looked at his body again, I didn't know if it was appropriate of me to touch him since I had very limited knowledge about the connection between a man and a woman but the urge to feel those details against my hands was strong.
"Would it hurt you?" I asked.
"No, it won't," He responded.
"Then yes," I nodded, "They look...interesting." My comment made him laugh before he spoke again.
"Come here," He guided me onto his lap so that I was straddling him, the position caused the distance to shrink and easier for my eyes to look at him from close.
I didn't think much about anything else and slowly traced my fingers on the muscles on his arms starting from his biceps. The goosebumps appeared on my own skin, and I saw his lips curving into a smirk.
I didn't know why but I moved my index finger to trace his jawline and upon this movement Kaden closed his eyes, drawing in a breath. His hands resting on my hips tightened their hold.
As I moved downwards to his abs, the tingling in my skin appeared even more. It was strange how my body was reacting.
"You are pretty," A smile formed on my skin and I heard his chuckle.
"Was that your kind of compliment?" He grabbed one of my hands interlocked our fingers.
I nodded still smiling ear to ear before I leaned in to inhale his scent from the crook of his neck, "And you smell very...very good."
He stilled at my sentence, the low growl erupted at the back of his throat but it didn't scare me. All it did was make me curious about it.
"What was that sound?"I questioned.
"Ahm...that was my other side."
"Side?"
"People like us have two sides, one that we always remain and the other that we awaken up only when we need it--To protect me or someone else who needs it." He explained.
"So your other side is stronger than you?"
"Not exactly but yeah...a little bit."
"So that growl...it was made by him?" I asked and he nodded.
"Why?" Confusion took over me.
I saw Kaden hesitating for a bit before he answered, "We all have different ways to express, that growl was because he liked your closeness."
"He likes me?" I didn't know why I felt the sudden excitement.
"Yeah, he likes you a lot." He nodded.
"Do you like me?" My tongue formed the question before I even knew it, I didn't know why but I wanted to hear it from his mouth although the thought of him disliking me caused a pang in my chest.
"You are too adorable to dislike, Angel," He smiled, his hand wrapped around my waist and the other one resting on my thigh where it drew small circles. His eyes began darkening.
His sweet gesture caused the flutter to appear in my abdomen, without thinking twice I wrapped my hands around him and pulled him closer. His head pressed into my neck and my hands rested on around his shoulders.
He instantly hugged me back, his nose lightly nuzzled my collarbone causing my grip on him to tighten. The new sensation made its way into my veins, the warm feeling flooded everywhere.
It was not long before he lightly placed a kiss on my neck, sucking the skin a bit.
The breathy sound tore from my throat. It was utterly foreign.
He moved a little lower, gently latching his mouth around my skin before he closed his lips around it. My hand automatically flew to move into his hair, it was now I realized how soft his hair really was--Softer than silk.
My fingers wrapped around his hair locks as he continued his movements, his hands now slightly moved downwards my hips. I couldn't stop the sound that slipped past my lips or the sudden surreal feeling that made the shivers crawling up my body.
"Kaden?" My question came out breathless, almost as if my own body was confused with what to do.
"Yes, love..." He murmured against my skin, the warmth of his breath sending warmth to my heated body.
"I-I...it feels g-good," I breathed out.
I felt the tug at the corner of his lips before he pressed them against my skin again. I didn't know why the blush was continuously rising to my cheeks. It was new to me, his touch made a new feeling penetrate my skin. My heart was thundering against my chest.
My breathing getting heavier and heavier.
A few moments passed the sound of the door opening, caused Kaden's movement to stop. I was startled by the sudden sound and turned my head back only to glance at the doorway.
Cassandra was standing there with the breakfast tray in her hand, her eyes slightly wide and lips parted as though she was surprised by seeing me and Kaden in this position.
"Umm....here's the breakfast," She hurriedly placed the tray on the table and walked out of the room more likely running out of the room.
My brows lightly scrunched at the confusion, "Why did she run away?" I asked and turned to face him. The amusement was written all over his face.
"Because she didn't mean to interrupt us in our private moment," He chuckled leaning in to kiss on my cheek.
I couldn't decipher the reason behind his evident smile as uttered the next sentence, "You are too innocent."
I didn't say anything else instead I rested my head on his shoulder, letting my rapid heartbeats calm down slowly and my body melt against his for a while before we both were going to pull away for our breakfast.
