Danger At The Doorstep

Alistair

I looked at the bungalow of Brandon Yearwood that I had destroyed years ago. The place had even turned worse than the situation I had put it into, if course after being abandoned for so many years it was not livable for anyone.

But my eyes caught the sight of something else, fresh footprints.

I crouched down and touched the soil, the recognition instantly passed through my cells. These footprints did not belong to any average human. It was a Lycan's footprints. I could already sense that the creature was stronger than average Lycans.

And then my eyes noticed the other footprints, it was bigger and deeper in comparison to size. Skeptically I touched the surface and a gust of harsh wind brushed past me leaving me stunned at my place.

My eyes widen ever so slightly.

It belonged to an extremely powerful creature.....A Lycan who has royal blood running in his veins.

The recognition drew upon me immediately. Kaden Moretti.

Only Lycan who could have any reason to come to this was him, Isabelle Morgan Yearwood's so-called Mate whom she might think will save her.

Little does she know even God can't save her from me...

I stood up and walked inside the bungalow, Draven and Julian were already inside checking for anything suspicious that could lead us to our answers. I needed to track down Isabelle at any cost before she could give that locket to someone else.

Anything that belonged to Brandon or Samantha Yearwood or even anyone having the connection to her blood could lead me to her. But I doubted she had any belonging to her family, and that was what raised the slightest bit of uncertainty within me.

"Alistair, come here...." Draven's voice was heard from one particular room.

I walked to2ards where his voice sounded from, and the recognition was quick to pass through me as I looked at the interior of the room--The playroom where I killed Isabelle's entire family in front of her eyes. What a relishing scenery it was!

My eyes fell on the skeletons lying in the middle of the room, they were pretty close to entering their decomposition state.

But I saw the footprints, apart from Draven and Julian's there we're also the footprints of two more people. It wasn't hard to point out that it was of those same Lycans. Kaden Moretti and another one whose name was still unknown to me.

"Isabelle's mate was here before us," I spoke walking closer to the skeletons, "The Lycan was smart enough to not leave any proof that could lead us to his location but I am sure he wouldn't have left without taking anything from this bungalow. He must have wanted to know about what led Isabelle to the state she was."

"But there's no way we can tell whose belonging he had taken with him, we had destroyed pretty much everything around here," Julian spoke, his stare trailed across the room.

As disturbing it was to accept, it was true that we could hardly identify whose belonging that Lycan might have taken.

I began replaying the event of that night in my mind to spot anything that could solve this newly rising problem. And then that little girl's image flashed in front of my eyes--Isabelle's sister--Orabelle.

The image of Orabelle particularly the glimpse of the locket she had on.

"I can see the cracks on the little girl's ribs..." Draven smiled in amusement looking at Orabelle's skeleton, with shoes moved the skeleton to the side to have a better look at it.

And soon as my eyes fell on her skeleton and the absence of locket, the corner of my lips automatically twitched.

"Her dead sister's belonging will lead her to her death..." A chuckle left my mouth and I crouched down beside the small Skeleton.

I pulled out the handkerchief from my pocket collected a bit of her ash on the cloth before folding it and putting it back into my pocket.

"What are you doing to do with her ashes?" Draven asked.

"The Lycan has taken Orabelle's locket with him, we might not be able to track Isabelle and her mate's location but we can sure track Orabelle's belonging." The smirk tugged at my lips as I stood up.

"Are you sure that Kaden Moretti is the one who has taken the locket with him?" Julian interjected.

"There's no other Lycan than Kaden Moretti who would have any reason to come to this abandoned bungalow, is there?" I chuckled and turned around beginning to walk out of the room, "Call the witch and get the workers to repair this bungalow just like it was before."

Before any of them could question my second statement I uttered the next words.

"The story should end at where it all started. The past shall be the witness of the unavoidable end of Isabelle's story."

With that, I walked out of the room heading out of the bungalow.

No matter how much they run away, they were not going succeed in escaping. The story that had started years ago was going to be put to an end by the creator, and even god won't be able to save them from me.

I was one step away from Isabelle and Kaden's doorstep. Let's see if the Lycan could save his Angel from Alistair or not.....
