The chains wrapped around my wrists and feet felt burdening, there was no soft mattress underneath me nor the soft caresses I have had gotten used to waking up to. My head was on the floor, not on his chest.
I was alone and this was the same darkroom I had escaped a few months ago.
I could feel the rapid beating of my heart and the lack of comfort at Kaden's absence. There was also this fear that made a pang cut sharp into my heart.
Unlike how they had kept me all the years, this time there was a source of the light. A very small Ventana that was on the very high of the wall. The light crept in indicating that it was the early hours of the morning I had never got seen except for these few days with and those years with my family that now only remained in my mind like a faint memory I'd relish till they'd stay.
I couldn't feel my toes, despite the warmth the mere light source had brought into the room there was this soul-shaking stillness in the room and the cold that made my skin feel numb.
I tried to stand up but the chains were too heavy for me to be able to bear the weight.
I ended up sitting on the cold floor that was piercing my skin.
I let my tears fall freely, It was this terrible feeling that percolated my insides. I could not think of anything else other than Kaden. I didn't even care if these people were going to kill me, I just wanted to hug him one last time...just one last moment I wanted with him.
Was that too much to ask?
The sound of the door getting opened caused my thoughts to get broken, I looked at the doorway and saw Draven and Julian walking inside the room. The flashes of the moment where they killed my sister and parents, flashed in front of my eyes.
My mom's lifeless body, Orabelle's smile was soon replaced with an image of her death. I found myself clutching the chains in my hand to muster the courage to not let myself cry in front of these heartless monsters.
"So you are finally back from your little adventure huh?" Julian crouched down grabbing my face harshly in his hand, his gray eyes were swarming with the evil as always.
"How much we have missed your presence in the palace!" Draven chuckled and stood beside his brother, "We'll...You look like a woman now, I see the Lycan has made you a woman..." His dirt-filled words caused my eyes to shut on their own, something about his words had made the disgust seep inside of me.
"Now, let's begin the welcoming ceremony. Shall we?" Julian laughed pulling out a dagger.
My eyes widened ever so slightly at the sight of the sharp edge of the weapon.
I knew what they were going to do, they had done the second day they had brought me to this palace. Drew numerous cuts on both arms as a lifelong reminder for me that I was never going to be able to get out of this room until the day I die.
"Open your eyes, you need to see your welcome gift being presented to you," Draven's voice echoed. I could feel my fear creeping inside, I wanted to cower away but at the same time, I did not want to give them the satisfaction they wished to find in my tears.
So with the last drops of courage left inside of me, I opened my eyes looking at the edge of the dagger Julian slowly lowered to my hand.
There was a mere surprise that flickered in their eyes when they noticed the lack of fear in me, but it went hidden in the obscure shadows anyways.
I felt the tip of the dagger starting to pierce my skin and bit inside of my cheek to stop the scream that was about to escape once the sharp edge would cut through the layers of my skin but then a voice interrupted.
"Stop!"
There stood Alistair in front of the door, a strange look was there on his face.
The confusion seemed to prompt within his brothers and Draven was the first one to speak.
"Wait, what?"
"I asked you two to stop," Alistair added walking inside the room.
"But why?" Julian questioned.
"Because... I want all the tortures saved for her the day of the full moon when we'll get rid of her," The smirk took upon his lips, "Only two more days of Patience."
The same evil glint shaded Julian's eyes and Draven grinned rubbing his hands together. It was no secret how sadistic they were and how much pleased the thought of hurting others made them.
"I hope that Lycan would come for his mate because it had been since we'd drew the blood of any royal powerful creature," Julian spoke and withdrew the dagger from my skin, I could see the sliced skin there on my wrist but no blood sept out.
"He'd come, no matter how hard it is but he'd come searching for his mate." Alistair's voice grew deep and his eyes got fixated on the Ventana where the sun rays were making their way inside the room.
"How can you be so sure? There is pretty much no way he can learn where we have kept this little shit with us." Draven chuckled glancing at me.
"He can, I have seen the challenge in that Lycan's eyes. He is not going to stay quiet or give up." Alistair didn't move his gaze, there was a stillness that remained in it.
"But he is not going to find us till he makes his way here, because we'll be gone with Isabelle to her once sweet home." Julian stood up folding up his sleeves.
"We'll have to see about that," Alistair glanced at his brothers, and lastly me before he walked out of the room without another word.
"Good news, Isabelle," Smiling Draven looked at me," You and your mate will get to die together."
His smile made my skin crawl, the rage began stirring awake inside of me. I was not going to let them hurt Kaden, no matter what.
"Monsters..." I seethed, "You all are disgusting monsters! You are not going to get mercy, you all have to pay for your sins. God is watching...just wait and watch."
An amused chuckle left Julian's mouth, "Okay then, keep complaining to your dear God. Let's see who wins, your God and your mate or us." With that, he left the room.
Draven looked at me for a while, searching for any hesitancy or uncertainty in my orbs but when he found nothing he too walked out of the room slamming the door shut on his way.
As they left I let my backrest against the stoned wall, a defeated sigh slipping past my lips.
"I need you.....Kaden, please come and save me...." I found myself whispering the words before my eyes closed on their own and I slipped into oblivion.
