Chapter 10 Home

Ava's POV
I'm sure she won't have the courage to continue with this nonsense. Although this person's skin is much thicker than I thought.
No, exactly I have never seen such a person.
Everyone in the Bright Moon Pack knows what kind of temperament I have, so generally few people will come and mess with me, they will go to Kate.
Thinking of Kate brings to mind Aaron's sister Adele.
In a sense, Kate and Adele, me and Aaron, are actually quite similar.
"Do you want to try?" I asked again, staring at her.
The absolute suppression of martial power value and the eyes of people around her made Edna's cheeks feel hot.
She has rarely met such a thing, or never, to be precise.
For Edna, her upbringing was smooth except for certain irresistible factors, and her face, together with her dress, was a weapon to disarm strangers.
Even people who don't like her will take more care of her because of her softness.
In addition, she was a very intelligent woman who used her intelligence to do many things for herself and to attack many people with such intelligence.
This is the first time, Edna in the hands of others to eat a loss will make themselves into such a wretched appearance.
She soon realized that what awaited her would no longer be sympathetic and friendly.
"I'm so sorry." She looked at the other woman with tearful eyes, letting everyone see the perfect side of her face.
"Ava, I thought it was you who was angry. It was just an accident, wasn't it?"
She said as she slowly got up and acted as if she had little strength. "I misunderstood you, I'm really sorry."
"Oh, no need to apologize." I waved my hand lazily at her. "Hopefully there won't be any more accidents like that next time."
"That's totally impossible!" Fog yelled in my ear. "She'll go on until everyone is sick of us, I swear she will."
"Yes, yes." I withdrew from the crowd and answered her perfunctorily. "So what do you think we should do?"
"We should act immediately to strike first, better break one of her legs so she doesn't have to come out and run around."
"That's not possible." I refused decisively. "Don't even think about it. And don't you usually always tell me to be gentle? Now that's nothing."
"That's not the same." Fog asked rhetorically. "Don't you think that gentle people are more loved by everyone? Just like ......"
"Like what?" I stopped in my tracks to warn her in a threatening tone.
"Don't you dare use Edna as an example, or you'll never let me be gentle in your life."
We were silent with each other for a while, and finally she compromised.
"Okay, I admit it's not a good idea."
I recognized it in my heart, and at the same time it was clear that I should get the wolves to accept us as soon as possible, at least the approval of most of the pack would allow me to put an end to what happened today.
Even if it is not a particularly troublesome event, it makes me feel disgusted from the bottom of my heart.
I'm sick of turning the corner to get in trouble like that. Like Fog said, I'd rather fight her and either she breaks my leg or I break hers ......
The opportunity came quickly, and even came a little faster than I thought it would.
I think if I hadn't promised Adele that day that I would help her catch fireflies, I would never have met a better time than that.
That evening Adele came to see me after dinner.
By the way, it must be mentioned that the cooking skills of Blue Moon Pack's cooks are really much better than Bright Moon, and I had some indigestion from eating.
I was still rubbing my stomach when Adele came in.
"Bertha?" she asked, knocking gently twice on the door. "May I come in?"
"Come in." I shouted at her.
She walked up to me and stared at me strangely. "What are you doing?"
"My stomach." I actually felt a little embarrassed. The whole eating myself into indigestion because the food was good was too funny, it sounded like a little mistake only a child would make. "It's a little uncomfortable."
"Is that so?" She frowned. "It's hard, do you need a doctor?"
"No need." I said immediately. "It's not a big deal, I just ...... well, anyway, forget it, what did you come to see me about?"
"It's nothing." Adele's cheeks flushed a little, and it seemed like something that wasn't very good to say.
I had a sneaking suspicion that she might have needed my help with something. Could it be to help her call her brother?
"I wanted to ask you. ava, have you ever seen a firefly?"
Fireflies?
"Of course I've seen it."
"What's that like?" , she asked again.
I seriously thought about it and didn't really want to tell this little girl that she didn't notice too much. It would be too cruel for her to say "it's just a bug with a glowing butt".
"It's a light green color." I finally told her so, and tried to describe it more beautifully. "It's like a glowing pixie in the forest, or a star falling to the ground."
Apparently this description moved her, and her eyes were practically glowing as she looked at me.
"Really?"
"Sure." I nodded affirmatively.
"Then can you show me?"
"What?" I was surprised. "Seeing fireflies?"
"Yes." Her cheeks began to flush again. "They always say that fireflies appear back when they attend bonfire parties, and that there are fireflies every evening along the Black Onyx River. But I've never seen one."
As if she knew I wouldn't take her, Adele's head slowly dropped and her eyes weren't as bright.
"I've said that to Aaron before, but he's always busy."
Well, okay. I feel sad that I have a sister too, because I always understand what she says.
If I had never had a sister, I could have decisively rejected her.
"I'll take you there." I said, watching her look up in surprise, and I added. "But you can't tell your brother."
"I promise!"
Adele was excited and ran back to her room to pack her things.
I don't know what she packed, but by the time she reached the Black Mana River she had even taken two sleeping bags out of her huge backpack, as well as a large bag of snacks and fruit.
"Would you like some?" She held up the cupcake in her hand and tried to hand it to me.
I was a little tempted, but still rubbed my stomach in pain and shook my head. "No need."
"But why don't we go to their bonfire party?" I asked her.
This time Adele didn't answer, just shook her head.
I think she probably didn't like being around those people very much, but that's okay, Kate didn't like being around anyone but me when she was a kid either.
Kids are like that.
We sat by the river in the breeze waiting for the fireflies, very relaxed.
The change happened quickly, and I heard the wolf howling, miserably, like a cry of pain from something attacking it, just over the campfire, on that side of the river.
Adele and I looked at each other and ran together towards that side.
We arrived when the fire had gone out, a large group of people gathered around, the air was filled with the smell of blood.
I couldn't quite tell what had happened, encountering other wolf attacks was impossible, there were no signs of fighting here, and it didn't look like any other animals had attacked the wolves.
"What's happening?" I couldn't help but ask as someone looked back at me and someone else whispered.
"Brks got bitten by a snake."
I pushed my way through the crowd and there was a male werewolf lying on the ground, already unconscious, his limbs still twitching unconsciously.
I squatted down to check the wounds on his body, there was a set of teeth marks at the ankle, the wound had begun to swell and blacken, even the toxic blood could not be squeezed out.
"This snake is not considered the most poisonous, now bind the wound and immediately go inform Aaron to get the serum."
Someone agreed and quickly left.
"Adele."
Adele came over and squatted beside me.
"Go to your bag, get a silk scarf and bring it here."
"Okay." Adele quickly agreed and hurried off.
"Set up the fire." I commanded.
To my satisfaction, even though most of the people in Blue Moon Pack had not accepted me, none of them objected to what I told them to do now. They came and went in silence, did everything I told them to do, and no one even spoke up.
I skillfully rolled the silk scarf into a rope and tied it about five centimeters above his wound, then pulled out the box from the hidden pocket at my waist.
The box contained a total of four types of surgical blades and handles, no hemostatic forceps or needles, not even properly sterilized, all of which would have made the save fail, I knew.
But couldn't care less, it was a life after all. Besides, this is my chance.
"Is anyone bringing wine?"
"Yes there is." A werewolf squeezed over, clutching a bottle of vodka.
"Get out the 11,15 blade and the handle and pour the wine."
The other side hurriedly did as they were told.
The familiar smell of the blade being soaked in wine reassured me, and I reached out and rolled his eyes open; fortunately, the reflex to light was normal, and he hadn't lost much body heat. Now it was just a matter of cutting open the wound to release the poisoned blood and injecting the serum.
Aaron came over about fifteen minutes later, as I was untying the silk scarf from Brks' wound when he arrived.
"What are you doing?" He asked me.
You should have heard that tone of voice, like I was killing people.
"What do you think?" I asked him back without a smile. "Did you bring the serum?"
"Here it is." The man beside him handed me the serum and the unopened syringe.
I checked the serum seal and it was intact.
"Adele, help me with the box."
Aaron stood without saying a word, watching me make his sister come and go.
The sharp blade cut through the skin, I stuffed gauze into the incision to drain the toxin, and then injected him with serum.
Two minutes later took out the gauze soaked with toxic blood, stopped the bleeding, put on anti-inflammatory drugs, and finally bandaged.
After everything was done I felt like my back was going to break and everyone was looking at me in a circle, each with a worried look on their face.
"It's okay, carry it back." I said. "When he wakes up come see me tomorrow for a change of medication, he'll recover in eleven days at the most."
Everyone cheered and whistled, and Adele rushed up and hugged me and didn't move for a long, long time.
