Chapter 41 Mental Disorders
Ava's POV
Silence. Except silence or silence.
It seems that at this time everyone has become mute at the same time, even the birds singing happily in the trees just now seem to feel the atmosphere closed their mouths.
Aaron and I stood face to face, looking at each other.
It was the coolest time of the day after the sun had set, and the moon was just barely above the clouds, shining on the ground and on people.
He was standing right in front of me, but I felt he was far away, so far away that it was as if he had traveled from the Bright Moon Pack to here, separated by countless mountains and waters.
"That's it."
I whispered to him, and to myself.
Then turned to leave.
Leaving him standing alone under the moon, against a green building.
Misty didn't speak again until I got back to my room, and thinking she was asleep, I tried calling out to her, and to my surprise she responded immediately.
"What? Ava."
"Nothing." I felt tired, "Go ahead and keep to yourself."
"Okay." She replied good-naturedly, then shut her mouth again.
Now I got a little curious.
"What's wrong with you?"
"What's wrong?" She asked, puzzled, "Did something happen?"
"Nothing." I said, "I mean, why are you so quiet all of a sudden."
"Quiet?" Misty sounded surprised, "I just thought you didn't like to be disturbed at this time of day."
That was true. I thought quietly in my mind. I really didn't want to be disturbed right now, but I didn't want to be alone even more because it felt like I'd be thinking about it more.
"Here's some good news for you, Misty." I tried to make my voice sound energetic.
Although Misty was very much not buying it.
"Don't mention it." She said, "Could there be any worse news today?"
"Oh. Don't." I smiled, "It's really good news, and I thought at least you'd be happy to hear it."
She was silent.
"I'll heal Aaron before he's crowned Alpha of the Pabu Pack and Blue Moon Pack, and then leave. Does that sound like good news to you?"
"I don't see how it's good news." Misty didn't hold back at all in throwing me cold water, "My advice is for you to leave right now, right now, that's probably what would be good news."
"Anyway, I'm going as soon as possible." I said, "But only if he's cured and does things right."
"I don't see how that's a good excuse." Misty said coldly, "As long as you go back to Ying Yue is the best tail."
"But you can't just go back to Bright Moon Pack, either." I couldn't help but show a bit of unhappiness, "Sooner or later he'll find out who I am from someone else's mouth anyway, and when he does, oh, it's that violent doctor Ava, who didn't even cure me of my mania. How does that work?"
"Okay, okay." Misty looked very helpless, "It's only a matter of days anyway, I had thought you were going to wait until after his coronation, so that's fine."
"Waiting until the coronation is out of the question." I lay down on my bed and thought, "Waiting until the coronation will be too late, won't they be more powerful by then once the Blue Moon Pack and the Pabu Wolf Pack merge?"
"What's the use of me bringing this news back then? Maybe the entire Black Sunset Mountain Range will know about it."
So I must go back before his coronation and bring this news to the Alpha.
Leaving aside Aaron, Blue Moon Pack was originally a big threat to our wolf pack, and they didn't have much of a close relationship with Bright Moon Pack, so they might flip out at some point.
Although I am not qualified to do this undercover agent, I failed to stab the other side and was stabbed back, but I can still protect my tribe. This news is important anyhow, at least to be able to let everyone be on guard.
"In fact, his berserk has almost healed, right?" Misty said, "So what's missing now to put your mind at ease?"
I thought for a moment, "Stress."
"Stress?" Misty obviously didn't understand what I was talking about and asked back in confusion, "What's that?"
"Stress reaction know?" I rubbed my chin and said, "It's the relative reaction of a person under normal circumstances to something unexpected, such as fear or anger."
"There are data surveys documenting that people in the face of a variety of situations show very different states, but this can be divided into several categories. For example, numbness and trembling in fear and crying or even fainting in sadness are all stress reactions."
"Yes." Misty still doesn't quite understand, "But what does this have to do with his berserk disorder."
"Of course it has something to do with it." I frowned and said, "Do you remember that I gave him a psychological evaluation before treatment in addition to some necessary physical examinations in order to better determine the treatment plan?"
"Of course I remember." Misty said, "And he has the highest propensity for violence you've ever seen, right."
"Yes." I nodded, "That's where the problem lies. Do you know about the disease berserk?"
Misty obviously didn't want to hear me talk to her about science here even more, and answered me impatiently, "Yes, why? I know it's a mental disorder."
"It's not just a mental disorder." I corrected, "In addition to some common symptoms, there is also an uncontrollable wolfing state and hormone imbalance, and for some werewolves who are not physically strong enough, the hormone imbalance at the onset can even take away their lives!"
"But he ......" Misty was surprised.
"Yes, but he is not affected by anything." I nodded and said heavily, "That's because he's very violent himself."
So that was the most troublesome point.
And the reason I was so hesitant to end the treatment.
Aaron's physical condition looked very strong before I examined him at all, but after the day I did a full body checkup on him I realized he was actually in bad shape.
In addition to the fact that all the index numbers were significantly higher or lower, there was also his mental state.
Being on edge and busy for a long time kept him from letting his guard down to everything around him, plus there was the even more important point that he hadn't had a long, long sleep.
This makes him very sensitive to all kinds of drugs when he is not in a frenzied state. For others a Valium would give the brain and body a rest and a good night's sleep, but for him it would likely put him out for at least eighteen hours.
I think this is the biggest effect that berserk brings to him, because in a normal state he can't even take a leisurely nap.
"No wonder you weren't even very willing to give him an anesthetic when he was sick." Misty finally understood, "So what can be fixed now?"
"There's nothing wrong with any of his body now." I said, "Except for his violent tendencies. Because I found out a secret about him."
"What secret?" Misty was interested, "Is there anything else I don't know?"
This was said as if she knew everything.
I laughed at her quietly in my mind and got up and pulled the curtains closed.
It was cool outside the style tonight, and I wondered if it would rain tomorrow.
"I find that he doesn't talk most of the time because he's trying and having a hard time controlling himself most of the time."
"What kind of secret is that." Misty laughed, "If I suddenly stopped talking to you then I must be in control too, because at that time if I opened my mouth I would have cursed you."
"You don't understand what I mean Misty." I said helplessly, "The control I mean is not the control you have."
"I mean that he is emotionally disturbed or even broken most of the time."
Like when I said goodbye to him just now.
"But what does that have to do with anything?" Misty still doesn't understand, "It's a habit for him, isn't it? At least I see him living sensibly every day. Maybe this little problem doesn't need you to interfere at all."
I didn't say anything.
"Or is all his sanity feigned?" Misty continued, "Maybe there are times when he seems normal but actually wants to bite his opponent's neck off? But isn't that what everyone does?"
I didn't know what to say anymore.
Finally, Misty said in a tone that no one could refute: "You've done enough. Since you've already decided when to leave, don't waste unnecessary time on other people, especially when this person is someone else's MATE."
Someone else's MATE.
Once again, I heard those words.
"There will be other people to treat for him when you leave anyway."
She added.
She did a great job, at least I didn't have any desire to heal anymore.
"By the way." She spoke again, "What did you say you were going to do earlier?"
I said I was going to give him another psychological evaluation, but that wasn't needed anymore.
"I didn't say anything." I said, "You can shut up now."
"Oh, yes, you said you were going to give him another psychological evaluation and psychotherapy." Misty acted like she didn't even hear me talking to her, "You can go now, I guarantee you he's back in his study alone and doing nothing right now."
"I'm not going!"
But I ended up going anyway.
Because Adele came to tell me that her brother had completely finished his last medication.
"So he's fully recovered?" She looked at me and blinked her big blue eyes.
I couldn't believe I couldn't tell a lie to such eyes.
God, if there really are any dice of fate please make these cute and sweet little girls in my life disappear immediately, they can simply sway one's mind!
On the way to Aaron's office I was still thinking about my cold reply to his words, "There is no need to continue the treatment, just take your medication on time".
It was like picking up a stone and smashing my own feet.
If I had known that I was going to give him psychotherapy a few hours later, I would not have said such a thing to him in anger.
