Chapter 34: Assassination
Ava's POV
The other party put down the things in their hands, bowed to me and left.
These days' scenes like this often appear, people come either to send some fruit or some trinkets, sometimes I really suspect that these things should have been sent to Adele, but because of the mistakes of some people to send to me.
The most outrageous is that once someone even brought over a box of paper, a box of letterhead.
All kinds of letterhead, plain, with a lot of patterns, botanical specimens embossed, in short, how to look like something Adele would use.
Perhaps it was because I received these papers and looked through them very carefully, and from that day onwards a box of letterhead was delivered every day, and it was useless to refuse.
I really don't understand what Aaron was thinking, am I a letter-writing fiend in his eyes? A day can use up a box of paper kind?
And what confused me even more was his attitude. I thought I had acted coldly enough in the library loft that day, and I had asked someone to return the book to him. He should have cut back on his contact with me, but what was going on now?
Did he think that by sending some small gifts he thought he could make me continue to play some ambiguous games with him and then work for the Blue Moon Pack?
I flipped through the things on the table in annoyance, some berries, letterhead, and scented candles. Ah yes, there is an invitation underneath, about the dinner party tomorrow.
I have absolutely no intention of opening it to see what kind of dinner party it is, and have no intention of saying yes to his invitation to tomorrow's dinner party, I know who will be there, and I don't want to see her or him, any of the faces.
"And the way things are going, I should cut back on my appearances, and preferably not have any more dealings with anyone." I whispered to Misty, then grabbed the golden envelope and lit it with a match, watching it turn to ashes in the ashtray.
"I see what you mean." She agreed with that, "But I don't quite understand why all these recent events are coming at you. Isn't Edna already under control?"
"When was she ever under control? How come I don't know." I rolled my eyes and continued, "And even if she was really controlled, would that honored guest who came recently, Aaron's destined Luna, just listen to my rumors and not do anything? Do you think that's possible?"
"So you're saying that all those people who were in the library before, were hers?"
"You're wrong Misty." I laughed softly, "Not only the ones in the library, but also the ones who came to help me collect herbs, the ones who came to deliver something but broke it, and the one who picked up my file bag, they were all hers."
To be precise, the people who approached me these days under various names and reasons to give me trouble or spy on me are all related to her.
Even if some of the faces did belong to the Blue Moon Pack.
"But the ones in the library before, they probably aren't indeed from the Blue Moon Pack."
I was talking about what had happened the day before yesterday.
I had just written a letter to Kate in the library that morning and released the carrier pigeon ......
"Bertha? How was your day?"
Very rarely, there were other people in the library, and not just one or two.
"Not bad." I quietly surveyed them, a total of four people, listening to the tone of voice seems to know me, but these four people's faces are very strange, at least I do not have any impression.
However, the Blue Moon Pack was so big, who could guarantee that I would remember every face I had seen? Even some of the people in the Ying Yue Wolf Pack I might not be able to call each other's names in one breath.
"Are you guys here to rest as well? Don't you need to finish your training tasks today?"
"Training?" One of them hesitated for a moment, but still answered, "Ah, today's mission is over."
This wasn't someone from the Blue Moon Pack at all.
I pretended that everything was normal and naturally stood up to put the book I was originally holding back on the shelf. While doing so I noticed them slowly spreading out around me, observing me.
The Blue Moon Pack was all poorly organized and planned, and there was no such thing as mandatory daily training, something that was clear in everyone's mind.
"There is no mission anywhere." At this time, another person spoke up and said, laughing at the one who just spoke in passing, "You don't want to be known for running to this place to be lazy, right?" After saying that he smiled at me, "Today there is a challenge, he also signed up before, but the other party is Mike, think also know can not beat."
That's true, I couldn't help but laugh a little.
Mike has been in the training ground almost every day since he didn't have to stand guard, either boxing or fighting people in the ring, and he rarely loses anyway, making a lot of people reluctant to stay in the training ground these days.
"But you just admit defeat and he is not happy about it, but also had to catch you for another match. I'm not willing to be beaten up by him again, whoever is happy to go."
The man's style of speaking was humorous, and several people were amused by him with smiles on their faces, and they joked with each other.
I also relaxed a bit and pushed back the chair I had been holding onto.
"Then you guys have a good rest; I'll leave you to it."
All the way out the door of the library, I could still hear someone shouting behind me, "Don't you tell Mike we're here."
"Okay, okay." I shouted back, just as loudly.
Less than two meters from the door was the stairway, and I was about to go down the stairs when I suddenly took a step and turned to the side.
A man swooped straight down beside me and rolled down the stairs like a ball.
"Hey? What happened?"
I turned around and looked at the three people standing behind me, "Aren't you guys taking a break? Why is he running so fast?"
When I said the last sentence I had already a sprint followed by a fist swung up hard, the effect is very good, right in the jaw of a man, he did not even let out a scream and hit the wall and fainted.
"I was in a bad mood, and you've come to my door, so tell me, who sent you?" I rubbed my newly recovered shoulder, and I have to say that the injury had a big impact on my movements, "That reluctant sweetheart Edna again? Did she finally bother to get some people to fight instead of just talking?"
The remaining two probably did not expect me to do so simply, glanced at each other, did not say a word from the waist pulled out the dagger a left and a right directly around.
One of them is still the kid who will be very active just now, I did not expect him to start a fight with a changed person, both fierce and indifferent.
After a few strokes I gradually realized that something was wrong, these two people's hands are simply too good to be true, and their purpose does not seem to be my imagination to find a few scars to me, clearly want my life!
The woman who looks like a vase is probably not able to find such people to work for her.
And I can now be sure that these people must not be members of the Blue Moon Pack.
However, the one behind them obviously still underestimated my strength, and figured out who the person behind it really was after I had completely put these four people down.
"It looks like that Deborah is already displeased with us."
Misty sneered and said, "So what, we're ready to go anyway, it's okay to leave a little mess behind before we leave."
I said approvingly, "This time you're finally thinking the same way as me."
Misty sneered, "Compared to before when you didn't even really want to leave it does."
As soon as she talked about this I felt I was in the wrong, so I had to try to change the subject, "But I guess as long as I continue to stay in the Blue Moon Pack, these little tricks and assassinations of hers will definitely not stop."
"That's not necessarily true." Misty didn't agree, "Couldn't Aaron have found out? Even if he didn't find out, wouldn't Adele have told on him?"
But I think she might be disappointed this time.
Because Aaron really is not found, he is just busier than before, busy to Adele to go to him to complain can not find others, so that the little girl came back to cry a, holding their own dagger said to go to the "damn bad woman" to fight, I coaxed at least two days to coax good.
During this time Deborah was very quiet.
I finally remembered her name, indeed very much like a noble princess.
The time just passed day by day, from the dark assassination and open challenge, in addition to all kinds of trouble the other side sent a group of people better than a group of skills, and even some of them are poison master and I can not say up with what strange weapons people.
I really can't figure out what's going on with the current guard post of the Blue Moon Pack, it seems that since Mike withdrew from there, the whole pack is in chaos, there are all kinds of people, and just yesterday I even saw a beggar.
God knows how he got mixed up in there and where he ended up.
"I also saw humans." Adele didn't seem to care at all, "A human selling candy." She told me this, "but his candy is not sweet enough for me to like."
I actually understood what she meant.
She was trying to say that she wouldn't like whatever Deborah sent her.
Like the human selling candy and his candy, which was Deborah's reunion gift to her.
"If only Mike were here." Adele said to me with a sigh, "I would have told him to throw all these people out."
"Maybe he's already doing that." I smiled, "It'll be quiet today, nothing to bother us."
'That's certainly not possible,' I added mentally.
Mike wasn't interested in doing anything anytime soon, and I think she was already frustrated with Aaron.
There could only be two reasons for today's quietness, either Sam couldn't see it coming and did something, or Deborah was thinking up some new trick.
Unfortunately, I guessed the latter.
"You bunch of losers! You can't even beat a sickly female wolf, what's the point of having you?" Deborah kicked over the man who was lying on the ground.
The man was already badly injured, and when he was kicked again, his arm was broken again, and he was lying on the ground, crying and wailing.
Deborah couldn't stand their noise so she yelled, "Get out!"
The rest of the people were relieved, instantly relaxed, and nimbly walked out, and by the way also closed the door. Sure enough, it didn't take long for the sounds of smashing to come from the room.
Deborah recently very bad mood, since Aaron promised him, he has not seen him, and the eyesore Bertha, again and again hit her face.
She couldn't believe that she had made it so obvious that the other side still didn't know who she was, but there was just a delay in moving, which was a naked insult!
And the other side didn't even tell anyone, she knew it would be a very tricky opponent, and no wonder Aaron was interested in her.
