Chapter 61 The Future
Reader's POV
"Hasn't she woken up yet?"
"No." The maid yawned heavily with her tray and said somewhat wearily, "I've gone in to check several times, and there's no sign of waking up."
"Go ahead."
Carson nodded, indicating that he knew.
There was nothing missing from the plate, and it looked like Kate still wasn't going to eat.
He had just walked into the house when he smelled a scent, a mixture of roses and lilies, and vaguely of blood.
Carson sighed and went up to take off his clothes and gently draped them over the shoulders of the person already asleep by the bed.
However, this little movement also woke her up. She jerked her head up to look at the sleeping person on the bed and found that the other person was still lying quietly when she lowered her eyes in disappointment and turned her head to look at Carson:
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to see." Carson shook her hand and whispered comfortingly, "Don't worry, the wounds on her body are deep but not vital, she should wake up soon."
"I know." Kate nodded and pulled him toward the door, "Go out and talk."
The two men exited the bedroom standing in the hallway one after the other.
"She had a fever earlier, could that be the reason she's still awake?"
Carson did not know much about this, and he did not dare to advise her at this time has been fine, so he had to say vaguely, "Maybe it is. But the fever has gone down, and I guess it won't take long to wake up."
Kate looked at him skeptically, "But the fever has been gone for almost a day, hasn't it?"
Carson knew that she might not listen to anything he said at this time, so he had to promise: "I borrowed the doctor from our affiliated wolf pack, and he said he would be there soon."
This news made Kate feel a little better inside, she nodded and stopped talking to him, turned around and went back into the room.
Carson stood and watched her back, wanting to follow her but feeling that it was useless to go there, so he stayed where he was for a while and then turned around and left.
It has been two days since Ava returned.
In the past two days, everyone at Blue Moon Pack has been busy in a pot of soup.
Her appearance at the door was so big and shocking that Carson was so focused on moving people back that he forgot that many people had seen it. So rumors started spreading up and down.
There were all kinds of styles.
What Ava alone singled out the Blue Moon Pack and returned in glory. This is Ava's loyal fans.
There is also Ava mission failed to be discovered the real identity so was hunted. This statement is more reliable.
And Ava and Blue Moon Pack's Alpha had a special relationship, suffered the jealousy of the Alpha Luna, so was eradicated by it. This one is the most outrageous and was rejected by almost everyone - what? You dare to say that our Ava is a third party to destroy someone's family?!
But really. If Carson hadn't grown up with the two sisters and knew what kind of character she was, he wouldn't have really believed this last story.
Because during the two days that Ava was unconscious, he had vaguely heard her mouth calling out the name of a person.
What Galen or Aaron Karen?
Anyway, this is definitely not a woman's name!
Carson has asked someone to check the bottom of this Blue Moon Pack Alpha. In conjunction with Ava previously passed back only by Kate a person in charge of the information.
If Kate hadn't suggested it, he wouldn't have known that Ava had sent back so much information!
What he had was only some of Blue Moon Pack's regular deployments and nonsense, okay?
What they had a building that Alpha lived on the top floor but let his sister live in the utility room and such trivial things.
Almost all alphas choose to live in the penthouse, okay? This news is as useless as non-existent.
As for his sister. Carson thought she might be euphemizing that there was a conflict between this Alpha and his own sister. Then ...... then told himself that if he wanted to organize an assassination operation, he could go towards this sister of his?
Also, why did the information reach Kate and she didn't tell herself until now.
Carson turned his brain to think about it and did not figure it out, so he had to let go of the matter as if he did not know.
But he can now be sure of one thing is, Ava definitely in the Blue Moon Pack and the guy called Galen what happened, otherwise she would not have gotten himself into this shape back.
Ava's POV
I thought I was in heaven when I opened my eyes again.
Heaven was green and there was a soft, fragrant bed.
But why am I still in such pain when I'm already in heaven?
The pain is as if a dozen elephants stepped over the body and stabbed through the tusks hundreds of times?
My mind is not yet awake to think like this.
In addition, I feel that my arm is also a little numb.
It seems that it is no longer my arm, but a piece of wood that has dried up.
I tried to move my fingers with difficulty, but it didn't seem to produce much effect. Until it was held by another hand.
"Ava?"
A face appeared in my eyes, somewhat unfamiliar.
I struggled to find this person from my own blank slate of memories.
Her hair was a mess, as messy as if she hadn't been tended to in a week, and she looked almost like a bird's nest. The eyes were also swollen like two peach.
Probably seeing me looking at her, she called out to me again, "Ava?"
Yes, that was my name.
I opened my mouth and a little sound came out of my dry throat, "Yes."
I saw a very complicated expression come up on her face. It seemed like she was smiling, but tears were once again slipping from her eyes. It made me feel sad.
"Don't cry."
I wanted to raise my hand to help her wipe her tears. But the arm seemed to be bound by something.
She noticed and reached out to touch my forehead and told me in a very gentle voice, "Your shoulder and wrist are hurt. To make you more comfortable, we fixed it."
I blinked to show that I understood.
She continued to tell me, "Would you like some water? Or sit up a little? You've been unconscious for two days, do you need some water?"
Of course I needed it!
I felt my throat was dry and about to catch fire.
She came over and slowly lifted me up so that I was leaning against the head of the bed.
I kept staring at her, wanting to know who she was and why she was so familiar. Why was my heart so sad when I saw her in tears?
It was about the look in my eyes that made her understand something. She stopped talking, pulled the covers for me and then turned around and went out.
I continued to lie in bed alone thinking about what was going on now - who was she? And where I was now. And why I was so badly injured.
I surveyed the room.
It was a very cozy and beautiful looking room.
The wallpaper and ceiling are green, the curtains are ivory white, and the sunlight that comes in when the wind blows makes you feel like you're lying in the middle of a forest, listening to the birds chirping.
I subconsciously turned my eyes to the closet to one side.
It was a very tall row of closets, but I knew there weren't really many clothes in them.
Wait a minute.
I couldn't help but frown and wonder how I knew there weren't many clothes in there.
At that moment, my thoughts were interrupted by someone who pushed the door open. She was looking at me with a glass of water in her hand and a very familiar medicine cabinet in the other.
"Are you okay?" She said.
I nodded to show that I was okay and took the water she offered and poured it in in one gulp. It gave me a brief release from my throat.
"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" She said as she sat next to me and naturally took one of my hands.
I shook my head and nodded again.
It was indeed uncomfortable. But I didn't know exactly where I was uncomfortable.
"Want to sleep some more?" She asked, "Or something to eat?"
I didn't want anything.
But I couldn't just tell her that, so I lowered my head and pretended I hadn't heard anything.
She seemed to let out a very small sigh. I didn't know why.
After a while, (or maybe it had been a long time) she stood up and patted me on the arm, "I'm going out." She said, "But be back soon. If you need anything, just call my name, okay?"
I looked at her a little surprised, not understanding why she wanted to go out. Because in my head, it seemed like it always felt like she should just stay here with me and not go anywhere. But I nodded anyway and said, "Okay."
She smiled a little and turned to leave.
I continued to sit on my bed and think.
Reader's POV
Kate wasn't actually going anywhere.
She really knew her sister too well.
She knew even before Ava woke up what kind of reaction she might have.
Like chasing after her and asking who she was and where she was. Or stubbornly not saying anything. Or throwing everyone out.
These are all things that can happen.
It is also what has happened.
Ava has not always reacted strongly to the past is because of this.
Probably because the stimulation at the time will make her selectively forget something, but when the next time she can remember it will be painful for a long time. Or those things she has forgotten become one nightmare after another that will haunt her for the next ten years or so.
In short, there is no point in talking to her at this time. All you can do is to leave her alone for a while, then quietly accompany her out of sight, and then appear when she needs it.
This time it didn't take long.
Kate leaned her back against the door and listened to the movement in the house.
As the night grew over the world, she heard her sister let out her first wail in hours.
She quickly opened the door and ran in to hug her.
Just as she had done countless times before, she held her tightly.
But again, what was different was that Kate felt her shoulders being rapidly wetted with some kind of liquid.
