Chapter 13

Ava's POV
The first thing I did when I got back to my room was to sit on the edge of my bed and think hard about whether there were any holes in what I had just said.
This Beta of his, this werewolf named Sam, was obviously more difficult to deal with than Aaron, who had been obviously wary of me.
He always smiles, either pretending to be like a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy, moving a look of youthful innocence, I could not see from his face whether he believed what I said or not.
And Aaron, what a despicable act for him to eavesdrop.
Fog sang a sarcastic refrain as usual. "You're no better, exposing patient privacy in front of wolf pack members."
I know it's not good behavior, but special patients deserve special treatment.
I can't help but be happy when I think about it, who told him to toss me so badly in the first place, I will never eat this loss! Sooner or later, one day let him all back.
Fog then asked. "Aren't you afraid he'll actually flip out? After all, he's an Alpha, isn't he?"
I find it unlikely. "I admit I had a bet, but I won the bet didn't I? Now it's time to let him lower his bottom line step by step."
She was silent for a while, as if she was finally going to stop commenting.
I continued to hum happily to clean up the bottles and jars on my own table, and it was a while before I heard her sigh lowly again.
It's amazing how many things happen in this world, and I didn't think when I said that about Sam that he was also judging me in front of Aaron, and saying almost the same thing as me.
Reader's POV
"This woman is the most special I've ever seen." He said. "And the most difficult to deal with. She's very observant of people and very smart. Knows when to react in a way that won't be offensive. If she can be a friend, she'll be an ace in the hole for our wolf pack. If it's an enemy ......"
"Isn't that just like you?" , Aaron interrupted with a smile as he looked up from his paperwork.
Sam froze for a moment and smiled back.
Yes, for someone who can't tell if she is an enemy or a friend but is very capable, isn't the best way to become friends with her first?
Just like they did then.
Ava's POV
Early the next morning, I set out on time with my medical bag toward Aaron's study.
This man is a complete workaholic, from the time he entered Blue Moon Pack until now, I have hardly seen him anywhere else, except the conference room or the study, as if he had no other place to go.
As for his bedroom, unfortunately, I don't even know exactly where it is now, so maybe he doesn't need a bedroom at all.
While standing at the door, I was telling Fog that I thought I heard birds chirping coming from his study.
"Looks like this guy isn't exactly a workaholic, at least he'll have some fun for himself." I said so and pushed the door open.
However, there was no bird in the study, not even a bird's feather.
Only one Edna, dressed like a bird, was standing in front of Aaron's desk chattering away, accompanied by various complicated hand gestures, and it looked like she was really having a lot of fun talking.
And she looks the exact opposite of Aaron just frowning, staring at the file in his hand, half a day did not raise his head.
I guess it's not possible to get Aaron to start today's therapy with this scene, so I simply put down what I was holding and comfortably nestled into the lazy couch near the window.
The position of this sofa is perfect, not too close to the window and can be sunny, but also can see the whole house, I am very satisfied.
Edna saw that I was I came in and didn't even turn her head to the side, only her tone sounded more attentive and eager.
"Try this, it's from the Boston-Mantle family winery, I had to make great connections to find it, and it's been in my collection."
Aaron finally looked up at her. "What's the connection?"
Edna looked instantly excited. "Do you want a taste?"
"No." Aaron pursued the question very coldly. "I'm asking you what connections you've passed."
I can't contain my laughter anymore.
I did some background research before I came here, and I remember this Edna, who is said to have been a good lover, and to have been around all kinds of men, but hardly ever in a relationship with any of them. This wine is probably a gift from a friend, it's really hard to say.
Not to mention that such words are just a cliché that people say to show how rare what they have is, and who would pursue it like Aaron did.
Seeing that Edna didn't answer for half a day, Aaron's tone became more impatient. "I just drank last night, I don't want to drink now, you go back."
I was fast asleep on the sofa, at this time heard this sentence immediately straightened up interface said. "Do not want to drink then how about a drug."
Only after I said that I realized what, hurriedly turned my head to look, Edna has angrily glared at me. I instantly regretted a little, and hurriedly rounded up. "Or you can drink first and then drink the medicine, it's okay, it doesn't matter."
I do not think it is important, but these two in front of me do not think so.
Aaron stood up as if he was deliberately trying to make someone angry, opened the medical bag I had placed on the table with swift and skillful movements, and took out today's medicine and ate it all in one gulp. I swear he's never taken his medication so cleanly before.
He stretched his hands at Edna. "Unfortunately, I've taken my medication and can't drink."
The look in Edna's eyes before she left was eating me up.
"I wish you could take your medication this dry every time." I said as I looked at him.
He flashed a charming smile toward me. "That's probably hard to do."
"You can try." I said with the same smile.
So the two of us just looked at each other face to face and smiled, frozen for a full two minutes. Finally he looked away first and whispered. "I'm really busy with my work."
I agree with this point.
And so for a rather long time, the treatment simply became a constant battle, a long and protracted battle between just the two of us.
I never imagined that a person could come up with so many tricks and excuses to avoid taking medication, nor did I realize that it was through these numerous violent tactics against Aaron's refusal to accept treatment that I had built up my own prestige and earned the respect of most people at Blue Moon Pack.
But that was all later.
On this day, I came to the study as usual, expecting to see if there would be any good drama today.
As we all know, Aaron's study is simply a social place for the wolves, where you can see anything or anyone you don't normally see, and where all kinds of news are generated every day.
However, to my surprise, there was no one in the study.
Could it be that he is not in the study tonight?
I'm not going to catch him back again. it's a rare day when it's Saturday and Adele is asking me to go to a bonfire. it's Aaron himself who doesn't want to treat the hard feelings, not me.
But probably because he had explained in advance, just from the study floor down not far, I was stopped by a man.
"Is that Bertha? Alpha said if you don't see him in the study, go to the top floor. The room number is 104."
"Okay, thanks." I thanked him returning upstairs.
When I went upstairs through the not-so-clean window of the stairwell, I saw raindrops falling on the glass.
The rain at this time of year is not enough to force passersby directly into a room for shelter, it falls like a pinprick, silently but quickly soaking through two layers of clothing then sticking to the skin, filling a vapor.
When I went to the door and was ready to knock, I reached out and realized that the door was not locked.
"Could it be an ambush?" Fog asked in a whisper. "Or have they already found out who we are?"
"No." I answered her in the same whisper. "If that's the case, he wouldn't choose to do it now, at least not until I've fully cured him, or when he feels himself getting better." It wouldn't be now, anyway.
But I stood at the door and waited for a long time without hearing anything. Did someone lie to me, or did he mean it himself?
I don't know.
"I have to go in and see."
I whispered to Fog. "I hope we don't run into anything weird."
With that, I pushed the door open and quietly walked in.
Because I didn't know what was going on in the room, I deliberately made myself walk very slowly.
There was still no sound of anything and the lights were dim. But the house smells pleasant and full of moisture.
Could it be that the windows were not closed and the rain came into the house?
With the idea that I might be able to get more valid information by working more, I was going to be kind enough to close the window for him.
I walked towards the window. The orange curtain had been blown high by the wind, and the rain had dampened it, turning it into a soaked flag.
The color of this curtain is very warm and bears no resemblance to Aaron's temperament.
Adele picked it out for him, I think. But I remember Adele doesn't like orange.
A few drops of water fell on my face as I closed the window, and I reached up to wipe it off while smelling a refreshing smell from the forest.
This smell is not new to me, but there is also a mint and a smell of sea salt that belongs to Aaron.
Is he in the house right now, or does it smell like that everywhere he's ever been?
I left the window and walked to the living room and began to survey Aaron's room with my arms around him.
Frankly speaking there is nothing really to explore or observe in his room. In terms of the intensity of his work, he is destined to stay in his study most of the time, and even if there is any information, he will not bother to carry it back to his bedroom.
I have a little desire to leave.
After all, I came to Blue Moon Pack to screw them over, not to do good deeds as a doctor.
What I should do now is to enter the study while he is not there and ......
I had a nice thought, but I just walked to the middle of the living room and looked up, I almost slipped on my feet in fear.
Aaron's room across from the living room is the bathroom and has only one glass door.
I actually saw the shower curtain, but it wasn't pulled properly, revealing a hand-wide gap just enough to see the fog and the people in it.
I now finally understand what the vapor and that refreshing scent in the house is all about.
