Chapter 28 Reunion
Reader's POV
What would you do if the person who once betrayed you now came back and said to you "I'm sorry, just pretend it's all my fault"? Would you forgive him or her?
Aaron never thought about it.
In his life, or in his head as a person, there is no such thing as this problem.
"You're having a hard time right now, aren't you?" She stepped forward and tried to cup Aaron's face.
Aaron took a step back, still looking at her icily.
This look stung Deborah so deeply that she dropped her hand in hurt, and there was even a little moisture in her eyes.
"Aaron," she said. "You still won't forgive me, will you?"
Aaron does not speak.
This reminds Deborah of the old days when he used to look at herself like this without saying anything, and then he would come over and give her a hug.
Now he was rubbing his fingers over and over, his eyes fixed on her neck.
Deborah knew this little gesture, the little gesture when he was nervous and anxious or feeling uneasy and shy, and it would have been hard to notice if he hadn't been close to someone.
This small memory made her feel a little bit calmer inside.
She felt she got back a little bit of what the other side looked like at the beginning.
"Don't look at me like that, Aaron," she said, covering her chest and leaning back her body slightly. "I'm not deliberately trying to cheat and betray you, I'm just ......"
"I just have my own struggles."
"I used to want to be nice to you later on, and for that reason I still am."
"And you stabbed me before you took me back to Pacbu Pack," Aaron said with a grimace. "Is that how good you've been to me?"
"I was just trying to protect you!" Deborah's eyes widened with her own. "I wasn't even trying to really lay a hand on you, at that point in time if you had continued to hold on you would have died!"
Aaron didn't want to argue with her about anything on this matter.
He took a few steps back, sat back in the chair in the study, and began to play with the knife on the desk.
With a table between them, he now doesn't have to worry about his opponent suddenly jumping on him or touching him.
"So Pacbu Pack sent someone, what's the deal."
"I told you, Aaron," she said, looking at him, her voice sounding sad and ebullient, almost like a song. "I just want to help you."
"You can go now." Aaron looked at her, no smile on his face.
Deborah knew he was serious and stopped talking, and the room fell silent.
The weather is bad, now it should have been two o'clock in the afternoon when the sun is at its best, but the whole room has darkened, and you can faintly hear the sound of thunder outside.
Very depressing, several people passing by the office door when smelling the unpleasant smell, are subconsciously go around the road.
Of course there are a few who are not afraid to die, such as Sam.
Since Sam found out that Deborah was the person from Pacbu Pack, he almost didn't want to throw her out of Blue Moon Pack. Now when he heard that Aaron and this person were staying in the study, he couldn't sit still. He hurriedly arrived and wanted to go in directly, but he was stopped by Mike who was three meters away from the door.
"What's wrong?"
He asked with little patience, and Mike gestured at him to the closed door of the room. "Alpha's talking to someone in there, no one's allowed to interrupt."
"I know." Sam said with a glare. "That's why I'm going in."
"Can't go in." Mike stubbornly held him back. "Alpha commanded it."
Sam was rendered helpless by him.
He knows that Mike is physically able to resist beatings and is also very beaten, which is why he was brought along by Aaron. However, if this is all, Aaron may not necessarily value him, except for the night guard, including the study this place are given to him to manage.
He is very stubborn, as long as the words of Aaron, no matter what kind of orders he will not make any mistakes in the implementation, Sam felt that if one day Aaron told him to kill himself, he may be immediately cut his neck.
It is impossible to reason with such people.
Sam decided to take a different approach and simply turned around and went to get help.
The kind of silence in the room that can drive people crazy continues.
"Pacbu Pack wants to talk to you about a partnership." Concluded Deborah.
She had to admit that the man had changed too much, not just in appearance, but in more ways than one.
He is no longer the same Aaron who would blush when he pouted, his face lines are so sharp that he is even able to cut people when he speaks with a cold face.
But Deborah had a new longing, after she finally met with this man.
Although the former place in this man that made her heart flutter is now completely absent, something else, something new yet somewhat similar, gives her heart of stone a familiar flutter once again.
He speaks with a more mature voice, his fingers are long, his silver hair hangs down over his eyes, and he plays with things no differently than before, but still as seductive.
No, it is more tempting than before.
Deborah suddenly smiled.
But across from her, Aaron, who had been expressionless and even somewhat fierce, also smiled.
His smile made Deborah lose her concentration.
"Talk about cooperation." Aaron stood up, his knife making a sound as he threw it on the table. "Yes, but you'll have to get Pacbu's Alpha to come and talk to me face-to-face in person."
Before Deborah could respond, she repeated the other woman's words. "Talk face-to-face in person."
The other person looked at her and smiled as moving as ever.
"In person, face to face." Deborah said again, and then she finally got it. "No, that won't be necessary at all." She said. "Believe me, Aaron, the fact that I was able to come speaks volumes."
Aaron finally lost what little patience he had left, and his face turned terribly pale.
"Get out." He said. "Now get out right now."
"No. Hear me out Aaron," she said, a little agitated and a little hurt. "It's not that I'm not willing to talk to Blue Moon Pack seriously, it's just that it's not what you think it is anymore."
"It's common knowledge that Blue Mountain Pack attacked Blue Moon Pack some time ago. I didn't come here to be sarcastic."
"The power of Blue Moon Pack is in everyone's eyes. The wolves in the Black Sunset Mountains, besides Bright Moon, Blue Mountain, and some smaller packs, are left with Blue Moon Pack and Pacbu.
Blue Mountain Pack lost a large number of warriors in Blue Moon Pack, it doesn't make sense that they won't take revenge or will continue to wage war, and they will probably go to other wolf packs for help. I know Blue Moon Pack is very powerful, but if the other side reaches cooperation with Bright Moon Pack, you will be in great danger."
She paused for a moment, noticing that the other person was looking at her, and continued on. "And once they reach cooperation to deal with you, your danger will be our danger next time. bright moon pack was established too long, all of them are powerful characters."
"There's no reason we can't face the enemy together."
"That's very nice of you to say." Aaron seemed to be complimenting her, yet he sounded mocking.
"Then tell me, why would the Pacbu Pack, which is known for its royal bloodline, come to enter into a partnership with a small pack that hasn't been established for a long time? Hasn't anyone heard about what kind of people are in the Blue Moon Pack?"
"Why don't you just cooperate with Blue Mountain Pack? We're going to war anyway, so we have a better chance of winning with Blue Mountain Pack, don't we?"
"Or is the Pacbu Pack full of idiots?"
Aaron smiled at her. "As silly as your suggestion is, I have to tell you, I'm so happy you were able to come see me, Deborah."
There was a clatter outside the door, as if something had been knocked over.
Deborah didn't care, but she saw Aaron suddenly blush and quickly stand up and walk to the door and push it open.
There were several people standing outside the door.
Most Deborah did not recognize, but the werewolf at the front with his mouth open in surprise she knew who it was.
That's the son of another pack Alpha, why is he here too?
And, why does he look like that?
Deborah looked back and forth at the men, and she noticed Aaron's eyes looking through them and down the hallway, and she followed them, but saw nothing.
But it left a smell, as if it is the smell of medicine?
"She came by?" Aaron asked, looking over there.
"Came and went." Sam answered him, but his eyes lingered long on Deborah's face.
Deborah didn't understand who they were talking about. "Who has been here?" She asked.
Of course no one would answer her, two men standing face to face, one with a worse expression than the other.
"And who is this one?" She asked again.
Aaron, clearly no longer wanting to say anything else, answered her as he wandered off a bit. "Sam, my Beta."
Beta of Blue Moon Pack.
Deborah gave him a surprised look, then added. "Isn't your Beta supposed to be Tom?"
The words seemed to snap Aaron back to attention, and he turned to her, his words thrusting straight through like daggers.
"Don't shout his name."
Without waiting for Deborah to say something else, he continued. "You don't deserve it."
This statement made the atmosphere between the three people more bearable.
Finally Deborah had to apologize. "I'm sorry."
Tom is probably long dead, she thought.
"Anyway, I can make the decision of Pacbu Pack nowadays, I hope you can come back and I will leave Pacbu Pack to you to manage."
"That's not possible." Sam interjected from the side. "You better not even think about it."
"Why?" Deborah asked with her mouth full, but her eyes were locked on Aaron.
He looked really upset, but not because of his own proposal and the possibility that Sam had heard their conversation, in fact it wouldn't have mattered if he had, right? Then what could it be because of?
"Even if he does go back to Pacbu Pack, you'll be able to follow him just the same." She continued. "It wouldn't even start a conflict, and of course you could stay and elect your new Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack."
Sam was close to laughing at the words she uttered. "Do you know what kind of pack Blue Moon Pack is, and how much power you have to arrange it so casually?"
"I didn't." Deborah said nonchalantly. "I don't care one bit what tribe it is, but my suggestion is realistic. Not to mention that what can you, a Beta, decide about such things?"
