Chapter 69 To Aaron
Ava's POV
Dear Aaron:
How was your day? Did you wake up in the morning to the birds flying into your bedroom?
I don't think so, after all, you got a very good sleep from that time on and couldn't be woken up by any noise.
Besides, you are probably in a very comfortable place now, able to occupy a whole bed by yourself, and no one will ever grab a pillow or a quilt from you again.
I don't think you know this, but there were actually many times when I would play marbles in your bedroom with Adele while you slept like a magic stone statue.
I remember you saying that you didn't seem to like the sound that the marbles game made? Ah, that's not important. The important thing is that we had a really good time. And I've already discussed with Adele that two days before the construction festival comes next month, we will hold a marble game tournament for all the people who like marble games.
They will bring their favorite marbles.
And Adele and I won't be participating. We are the initiators.
When they lose they need to leave their marbles behind, and when they win we will allow them to take a little bit of the loser's marbles.
Then when the competition is over, Adele and I will have the beautiful marbles of the wolves of the entire Black Creek Mountain Range - provided, of course, that the wolves of the entire Black Creek Mountain Range will come to the competition.
In addition to this exciting good news, I have another good news to tell you.
Do you remember that Edna? That's the girl who used to pester you all day long to be your Luna when I was a Blue Moon Pack outsider. I met her recently.
Do you know what she's doing now?
She's actually running a business in the ancient jungle!
Selling all sorts of great stuff that everyone will love! Real human stuff.
I know when you read this you'll frown again and say that human stuff is full of evil.
Hey, I think you should let go of your prejudices.
Just like I once put aside my prejudice against you to see things that really can be good for us wolves.
Like candy - they really do make all kinds and kinds of candy! There's one from the East, a red fruit that people say is called a candy cane.
I've been enjoying it a lot lately.
There's also a duckling that can quack all over the place. You must say what's so funny about ducks, you can catch a hundred of them for me. But I'll tell you, that's different!
That is a special kind of duck. It can even fly. (Of course, I know all ducks can fly)
What I'm trying to say is that it can really fly, and it will fly a long, long distance, and then you can put something in its belly. Like a letter. And a few flowers. A special plant from another mountain range or something.
Are you able to understand what I mean?
Also, I've noticed a marked increase in the number of times you've been experiencing mild symptoms of berserk lately. Just in the past two days, I've calmed you down almost a dozen times through a psychic link. Can you tell me what the hell you're doing?
Stop using the excuse that the wolves in this place are so unreasonable and that you don't understand a word they say, I won't believe a word of it.
And don't use the premise that there is probably a problem with our psychic link as an explanation.
I think you have forgotten the lesson you learned a few months ago, haven't you?
You wrote to me earlier asking if I had any information about Deborah's whereabouts, and I'm sorry to tell you, no!
In the future, you can ask such things to your own beta, but in any case not to me. I'm not interested.
However, I recently heard from the wolf pack's intelligence department that they picked up a corpse on the Pabu Hills that had been burned to the ground.
It was a female wolf, and since the dead one was already a bit smelly, everyone was worried about what germs might be there so they cremated the carcass on the spot. The ashes were sprinkled on that piece of wasteland.
If you want, you can go to see it yourself when you come back and pass by, and maybe pay your respects.
After talking about this unpleasant thing and then come back to the issue of your mind link.
I told me earlier that you went to the desert next door to where the Cibo wolves are and on the Gobi, right?
But when I was talking to Edna, I think I heard in a trance that she saw a tall man with silver hair, supposedly very handsome, carrying some medical equipment with his bodyguard brothers near the People's Hospital in the North District, as if they were a group of robbers.
Have you ever seen such a person?
I've been dreaming about what she said lately and I wake up feeling very uneasy.
I'm worried that you might have a lost human brother out there besides Adele, also with beautiful silver hair. If so, do you think I should send someone to "invite" him back as a guest?
I think he would be very willing to surprise me on the anniversary of our meeting, right?
Also, can you ask him for me what the hell he needs that damn medical equipment for. If it's useless, please ask him to throw it away before he gets himself into trouble.
Of course, if it's useful, ask him to find a car to transport them, and don't forget to find a reliable driver.
I don't want to see my Alpha come back with a missing leg because he can't drive a human "evil-smelling" car, which would scare me and my family.
Finally, it was getting hotter and hotter.
And the rain is getting heavier every day.
Adele told me yesterday that her freshly laundered clothes were moldy in the closet, and she was so sad that she asked me to tell you to help her buy some new painting equipment and clothes (the latest ones).
The painting we framed together before has been hung on the bedroom wall and I fall asleep looking at it every day.
Those newly planted hyacinths and vanilla in the library have bloomed and I can smell them every day.
I'm up to page 235 of Shakespeare, and I'm going to read the rest of the passage with you when you come back.
Also, I miss you.
Yours, Bertha.
Enclosed is a new report card on the health report of the child in Luna's womb.
(Finally, there is really good news for you. You are now a father. Annie says he's about four months old, and I think it's the little angel you got the day you woke up.
What kind of name do you think we should give him?
(Is he a boy or a girl?)
Enclosed is a shopping list: newborn clothes and skincare items, and a crib with a spinning bird and fur ball hanging from it (it needs to be green).
