Chapter 22 Care

Reader's POV
It was late at night, and the whole 17th floor was still lit up.
This floor was previously the floor in the building dedicated to entertaining guests, and is just one conference room floor away from Alpha's penthouse.
About the reason is that there is a conference room, so this floor of the upper and lower sound insulation measures are very well done. Later Alpha's sister moved in, so she was the only one living on this floor, and the rest of the rooms were left vacant.
But then another person moved in.
So it became two people living here.
The day the man moved in was sunny and Adele was lying at the window in the sun, then she saw her brother being flanked by people hurrying upstairs.
Adele did not feel strange in her heart.
Brother is Alpha well, often surrounded by a large group of people, either this or that.
But this time it's a little different.
She squinted for a long time and finally saw that her brother was still holding something. Everyone seemed to be so lively because of that thing.
What is it?
Adele narrowed her eyes and thought, A box full of new equipment? A peacemaking gift from another wolf pack? Or a cat, a puppy?
None of these are.
Adele opened her mouth to see the door to her room kicked open, and then her brother, the one who was so busy every day that he didn't seem to have anything to say to her, hugged someone in!
Yes, he came back with someone in his arms!
That's a female wolf!
Adele immediately realized what was going on and she quickly moved her things out of the way.
It doesn't matter, in fact, these rooms have her stuff everywhere, she sometimes has nothing to do, just stay in this room for a while, and then go to that room to paint for a while, no one will say anything, this floor is all hers.
Humming a joyful song, she ran with happy steps toward the room that had originally belonged to her. Just as she reached the door, she suddenly slowed down and finally came to a complete stop, slowly leaning against the door.
The house was sunny and her brother sat on the edge of the bed looking down at the person on the bed, his silver hair blinding Adele's eyes.
His expression was very gentle and calm, and he looked extraordinarily gentle.
Adele didn't know if he was as gentle when he looked at himself, or if such tenderness was the same as the tenderness he showed himself, but it didn't matter, she knew that from this day on, everything would be different, she was sure.
After her brother left, she came to the same position looking at the person with closed eyes on the bed.
Her hair is a beautiful deep red, a color that Adele loves, a color that makes her feel warm.
She took care of this person every day until she opened her eyes.
The moment she saw her eyes, Adele knew why her brother, who had never really gotten close to any female wolf during these long years, was able to bring a strange female wolf he had never seen before straight back to the pack and handed her over to her care.
She is supposed to take care of her.
Since then those eyes have often had a reflection of herself in them, as well as her brother.
She always looks at her with a smile, listens to every word she says, never interrupts, never runs out of patience, and never gets angry.
She's not like everyone else, she's even better than her brother!
Adele learned that she also had a sister.
At that time she envied the one she had never seen before, a little older than her, Bertha's sister.
"It must be a blessing to have a sister like you." She wanted to say. But she didn't say anything in the end.
Just wait a little longer, she thought.
When she becomes Luna, when she and her brother become mate, she must tell her this.
But maybe that day won't come again.
There will never be another day like this.
She's dead!
She was stabbed through the heart, by her own brother.
Why?
Adele wanted to say, she wanted to yell at her brother. "Why!"
You obviously haven't had a chance to ask anything yet, you don't even know where she's really from, how can you just do it like that?
You should obviously know that such a sudden attack from behind might be too much for any one person to avoid.
Maybe she was one of the other wolves, but what could be done about that?
She saved everyone, and she healed you.
Why did it become what it is now?
"Wake up, Adele. adele, adele?" who is calling her name.
"Adele!"
Aaron watched worriedly as his sister sobbed and woke up from her dream.
"What's happening?"
He pulled her over to him and tried to give her a hug, but Adele pushed him away fiercely.
"Tell me what's going on, okay?" Aaron spread his hands, not knowing what to do. "Did you have a nightmare?"
"Yes. Yes!" Adele cried out, her cheeks turning red. "You killed her! You killed her!"
"I didn't."
Aaron was powerless to defend himself in the face of his sister's accusations. "She's alive, she's just wounded."
"You killed her!" Adele probably wasn't even listening to what he was saying.
"I didn't." Aaron repeated the fact again in a pale voice. "I didn't know anything at the time."
"But I didn't." He finished with difficulty at his sister's angry stare. "I didn't try to kill her."
She just saw herself in that moment, a long time ago, a long time ago.
So the knife stabbed out, more than a decade of time reversed, when he was how back to slowly fall to the ground, today she is how to be stabbed through the shoulder.
"I'm really scared." Adele choked out. "We were so close to losing her."
She did remember that was the case, and she finally listened to Aaron and went back to her room.
"Okay." Aaron watched her cry in silence for a moment and said dryly. "I'll take care of her."
"Of course you should take care of her!" Adele answered this, cried for a moment thoughtfully and then said. "Then why are you still standing here."
"I'm here to ......" Aaron thought for a moment what he had come over to do, and suddenly turned and ran out with a very ugly face.
Adele followed him with some concern and saw him run out of his bedroom to the next door, bending down to test the forehead of the person lying on the bed with the palm and back of his hand.
"What's wrong?"
She asked uneasily as she stood by the door.
"She's got a fever." Aaron said so.
"Then what are you running around for!" Once again, Adele began to feel angry and upset. "You should have cooled her down with cold water! And medicine!"
"Oh. Yes." Aaron stood there like a big dog that had done something wrong. "I just came to you to ask you if you still have any of those cooling stickers there that I found for you last time."
"That's for kids." Adele said as she held her head in pain. "You should have given her an ice pack for adults."
"I'm worried she'll catch a cold." Aaron still didn't move, he stood there stubbornly. "She should have used something a little gentler, the ice pack is too cold."
Finally he simply gave Adele the order. "Go get your cooling stickers."
Adele instinctively obeyed Alpha's order and ran back to her room to fetch the cooling stickers, then watched as her brother used a clumsy action to tear open the package and take out two stickers on the forehead of the person on the bed.
"Does she need a change of medication?"
Aaron replied without lifting his head. "I'll change it for her."
"Okay." Adele thought, "Hopefully he'll actually change the medication.
"Now it's time for you to go to bed."
Aaron said to Adele. "Children should just go to bed on time, that way they will grow taller."
Adele did not want to sleep. She continued to stand still and watched as her brother began to dip a cotton swab in water on the patient's already dry and cracked lips.
"Go to bed."
Finally Aaron ordered her again. "Or I'll tell Sam about you teaching Anna to steal letters and have him take you to transcribe the documents."
Adele managed to get threatened out of the room by him and left with a whisper on her lips. aaron thought she must be cursing herself
Frankly speaking, he was not surprised by Adele's performance today, and he even had a familiar and affectionate urge to see her that way.
Many years ago, she also protected herself in this way.
Aaron thanked her for the scream, which almost saved Bertha's life.
"Apologize, definitely apologize." He whispered to himself.
But what exactly to say.
It doesn't matter if you can't think of anything, you still have the whole night to think and organize.
Ava's POV
So the next day, when I woke up from the pain, the first thing I saw was Aaron's blue face.
I really can't imagine, obviously I was the one who was injured, why instead he looked so ugly and had two huge black eyes.
But it doesn't matter, he's the one who has nothing to do with me.
I propped myself up on one hand and tried to sit up and get dressed to leave, but he held me down.
"Well? Want to fight again?" I glared at him, wanting to smash my fist into this man's face.
"No." He's rubbing his fingers again. "No." He said. "I'm just worried you'll get low blood sugar."
"You lost a lot of blood yesterday." He continued. "I asked them about it, and they told me you might have low blood sugar and dizziness and wanting to vomit."
He said he brought a pear soup, which smelled sweetly of pears.
"I changed the medicine." He said as he stood there. "You were still running a fever last night."
"Oh, thank you." I said sarcastically. "I was able to revive because of your care."
He stopped talking again.
If it wasn't for physical reasons, I really, really wanted to throw the pear soup on his head and yell "Get out!"
But he just stood there, like a puppy who was waiting for punishment for playing with a ball and breaking someone's glass, looking up at me with his big blue eyes.
"What else do you have going on." I felt that my tone must have been very cold.
"Me." He rubbed the back of his neck in a bureaucratic manner, another small gesture. "I want to apologize to you."
"Not if it's for the previous wrong arrangement that led to the attack by Blue Mountain Pack, you already said you're sorry didn't you?"
"No." He whispered. "I want to apologize for my lack of trust in you, if I had trusted you what happened yesterday would not have happened."
Jesus Christ, what did I hear?
"There's more." He continued in a whisper. "I'll take my medication and receive treatment on time from now on."
The shock of the unexpected arrival made me dizzy.
"Can you forgive me?" He said.
"What?" I felt like my brain wasn't even my own anymore.
"You can." He stammered and whispered. "Can you forgive me and stay?"
