Chapter 67: Assassination
Ava's POV
Carson's eyes had become ambiguous, but looking at my unkind eyes and the miserable state I was in when I returned, he had to put away his gossip.
"Ava is so good, it's no surprise that you like me, but I don't think I can leave her in the hands of someone who doesn't have the means to protect her."
When Carson said this, George couldn't resist standing up and stopping me in my tracks, "If you were capable, Ava wouldn't have come back half dead. You actually have the face to come to her now?"
Aaron even now how full of love is also completely fast by these two big men doused, is about to talk back, but suddenly froze.
I was a little surprised that he didn't respond to George's provocation, but instead turned his head to stare at me, those eyes full of shock and incomprehension.
"How can that be?! How are you now?"
Everyone in the room froze for a moment, looking at him like he was a big dummy.
Carson shook his head and said to George, "You come back first, I think there might be some misunderstanding between them."
Looking into Aaron's eyes, I have to admit that my heart wavered.
Maybe there really was a misunderstanding?
I said to him in as smooth a tone as I could, "I was ambushed by your men on the way back, and if Bright Moon hadn't been prepared, I'm afraid I would have died on the way."
I saw him clench his fists in anger: "That's impossible, I drove you away because Deborah was targeting you like crazy. I just wanted you out of danger, but I would never send someone to attack you!"
"Really?"
I sneered, "Who do you think would believe you? The plan? The merger of Blue Moon and Pabu Wolf Pack? Or whatever other plans you have for infiltrating Bright Moon Pack now? Does it make sense for a spy of the Bright Moon Pack like me?"
Aaron stared into my eyes as his voice turned low, "My plan is revenge, the nobility of the Pabu Wolf Pack has been almost entirely wiped out, but Deborah held my sister hostage and let her escape. Where you are from, a spy from another wolf pack, doesn't matter to me at all!"
"It's just you I like."
I was about to speak when Carson interrupted me and I saw him give a smile, "Looks like a bit of a long talk, I don't think this is a good place to talk, you two come with me."
Aaron looked at me, then at him, then at George, and very cooperatively followed Carson, and I seemed to have no other choice but to follow.
All the way Aaron looked at me with a worried look, which made me uncomfortable.
"Is your sister okay?"
Aaron repeated "your sister" in a low voice before continuing, "Yes, but it's a shame Deborah ran away."
His resentment towards Deborah is really very deep. It must be either true love or true hate.
"She must have sent someone after you!" He then said hatefully, "I obviously sent someone to protect you in the dark as well ......"
I suddenly remembered that I had met several groups of people on the road when I was being chased, and indeed there was that wave of people who did not seem to be malicious, but just kept following me not too far away, but still I took a detour to get rid of them.
I had a little weakness, but did not want to ask him. Seriously, for a short time I couldn't believe this was any word from the man who had joined forces with Deborah and had driven me away.
"Let's get you two straight here, there are guards at the door, but don't you worry, they're just there to keep Ava safe, it's soundproofed."
Carson gave me a wink and then closed the door to the room.
"Is Ava really going to be okay? That guy is a "bloodthirsty demon wolf"." Kate asked Carson with some concern.
Carson shook his head and said, "Don't worry, Ava is no weaker than him, the first time you can find out, and you see that boy and Ava's eyes, they are afraid that there is indeed some entanglement, no wonder Ava will be delayed again and again refused to come back."
"Bertha, tell me how you were injured? Are you recovering now?" The door to the room had just closed when Aaron came up.
"My name is not Bertha." I said, unable to resist taking a few steps back, "And I just want you to explain things clearly now."
Aaron sighed somewhat in frustration, "I've planned for revenge from the beginning and was going to tell you when it was over ......"
"So what exactly are you here for now?" It can't just be to apologize to me, right?
Aaron lowered his head in silence and I laughed to myself.
"I came to apologize to you, and there is ...... Deborah used "obedience" to her remaining soldiers, Blue Moon ...... could not afford that much loss. can't afford to lose that much.
"So you want to work with Bright Moon to hold off Deborah's attack together."
Aaron nodded, "The most important thing is to gain your forgiveness, Ava."
I sighed and avoided the subject, heading for the door, "I'll explain your offer to Carson, it's none of my business whether I agree or not."
Aaron looked at Ava's indifference, his heart unconsciously ached.
For Aaron's proposal, Carson very happily agreed, after all, for him, let the bloodthirsty demon wolf owe him a great favor, it is really the best thing.
Not to mention that he has sent someone to investigate Deborah, only to me dropped a "obedience" thing on you.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes, "I won't, I won't do it."
Carson shrugged indifferently and said, "Well, I have no problem taking their attacks anyway."
Are all alphas in this world the same virtues?
Blue Moon's wolf pack soon all moved into Bright Moon's territory, but after all, Blue Moon's wolf pack had gone through too many things, so they were not quite willing to gather together with Bright Moon's people.
On the contrary, the relationship between the soldiers of the two wolf packs had been very cordial, except for the fact that they trained and attended work together every day. What's more, Bright Moon didn't reject these "bandits" but liked their boldness.
And then for several days, it was as if I had a tail behind me, wherever I went, Aaron followed, until ......
"Can't you just tell him to stop following me?" I said to Carson with some annoyance.
"Ahem ...... this, Aaron is Blue Moon's Alpha after all, and besides he's not doing anything out of the ordinary besides following you, and is claiming to be pursuing you externally, of course, if you find him in your locker, you can report back to me immediately so I can put him Throw out."
I simply hate the teeth, and I do not know whether Aaron is too charismatic or what, actually so quickly let Carson this old greasy believe him.
Before I could say anything, the patrol leader came in and said, "No, there are a lot of rampaging werewolves on the western path."
Carson and I said in unison: "Here we go."
Open the door, Aaron has long been gone, it seems to have learned the news. Carson stretched and said, "I'd like to see the true strength of the bloodthirsty wolves."
Then Carson rushed out like a gust of wind.
Even the berserk wolves could not break through the two alphas and many elites, but unfortunately, the whole battle except for the opening whistle, there is no longer her figure.
When I arrived, I only saw two big men blowing each other naked. Perhaps it was the joy of the alpha among themselves?
"Let her get away again, I want to continue the chase and go straight to the headquarters of the Pabu wolf pack." Aaron said.
After the stop just now, Carson is in high spirits, immediately agreed to Aaron's proposal and said "Take me with you, I just came late, or not less than you."
"I'll go too."
"No way!"
Both spoke at the same time, which once again made me feel that the alphas were the same.
I had to take out my bailout, I took out a medicine bottle from my pocket and waved it in front of them.
Carson's eyes lit up "This is ......"
I nodded and said, "Yes, I'm afraid Deborah's soldiers are more than that, if we let her figure out the deployment a few more times, I'm afraid the loss will be more than that."
Carson had to look at Aaron, who nodded seriously and said, "I will never let her get hurt again."
The order of the Pabu wolf pack has all been chaotic, capable and not poisoned by Deborah have left, leaving only the old, sick and disabled, as well as soldiers for their families.
"You two hit gently, these people are saved."
One by one, the rampaging werewolves were subdued, and begging voices filled the area.
"Please don't hurt my father."
I forced medicine into their mouths, and soon they aborted their rampage and passed out.
The people of the Pabu wolf pack were not too much to say they were refugees, and I smelled the pungent smell of a woman wrapped in a hijab that seemed like a garbage dump.
"Has the count been taken? How many people in all?" Carson asked.
"Report, a total of seventy-three people, from what they said most of them died and fled, and there are not many supplies here, and people who were starved to death."
Hearing this, Carson and I were silent for a moment, and finally I spoke first and said, "Let's put a fire to burn this place, in case there is a plague out there, it would be bad."
A fire and the smoke from the mountain thus announced the destruction of the Pabu wolf pack.
"How about half for each of the refugees?" Carson lifted his eyebrows and looked at Aaron.
Aaron thought for a moment and said, "Would you treat them as slaves?"
Carson tapped him on the shoulder and said, "When have you ever seen slaves in Bright Moon's territory? Or are you focused on something else?"
Carson gave me a flirtatious glance, Aaron looked at me tentatively, and I resisted looking at him, only to hear a faint sigh.
When the men of Pabu Wolf Pack arrived at Bright Moon, there were no cages and chains as they thought they would be housed. Including the omegas who had never been out of the kitchen before now had their own bedroom.
Through the seemingly endless bragging of Carson and Aaron, the two alphas, all day long, it was as if everyone had put me on a pedestal overnight.
Especially the group of remnants from the original Pabu wolf pack.
Even in order to proclaim the great deeds of their wolf pack, the two of them actually made a speech. The main speaker was contracted by Aaron himself as a person.
My first reaction when I heard this news was that this was probably his plan again.
Aaron kind of people, you throw him into the crowd can say a word less absolutely do not open the character, can go out to make a speech or to boast about themselves. This of course how to think how impossible.
But I still haven't figured out, this only two wolves in the Pabu orphans to attend the speech in the end can have what great energy, and what has to do with his plan?
Was it just to yell at Deborah at the speech?
With this kind of astonishing thought in mind, I sneaked into the venue on the day of the speech and mixed in with the Pabu wolves.
I have to say, sometimes human curiosity is really a fatal knife.
Not long after I slipped in, I actually watched a few familiar faces with makeup and heads bowed also mixed in together.
I won't talk about the others, but why Kate?
She a Bright Moon Pack Luna mixed in really can not attract attention at all?
I've been staring at her since she came in, so much so that I completely ignored Aaron, who was stuttering on a randomly erected rickety stage, staring at me.
And Kate, I don't know exactly where she was looking.
But I can guarantee it! The spot she stares at from time to time is definitely Carson's spot.
Why don't we just go up to the speech together? I was thinking confusingly in my mind, so that we can stand together and look at each other, right?
The speech began.
"Ladies and gentlemen." Pause, the sound of swallowing.
"It's a pleasure to stand with you ...... on this ...... stage?" Did he get the speech wrong?
I hastily took my eyes off Kate to look at the man above me who was digging around in various pockets on his own body.
Sure enough, he was holding the wrong one, and he felt a ball of crumpled paper like a napkin that had been used from inside one of the pockets, unfolded and smoothed it out, and almost put his eyes to it and read, "Stand in this safe home."
Everyone seemed to sigh together with relief.
"I know that in the past you have suffered countless hardships and torments." His voice seemed to be quite magnetic, "but this is not the life you deserve."
"You guys ......" began to stutter again.
"You guys deserve a better life."
He seemed to turn the paper in his hand over in wonder, and I guess there was nothing on that side.
"Just like we do now." He finally gave up and tried to make a conclusion in his own words.
Everyone clapped together, and I mingled inside and clapped along, while slowly moving toward the door.
But just then, I smelled that pungent odor again.
It was familiar, the same smell I smelled when I went to the Pabu wolf pack to detox before.
Why haven't they showered after being in Bright Moon Pack for so long?
I couldn't resist the urge to cover my nose and turn my head to look at Kate and the others.
Just as if everything had been arranged, the accident happened.
I saw a figure leap forward at Aaron, who was still standing on the counter, carrying a shiny dinner knife.
Almost subconsciously, I started running towards the stage against the crowd. But just as I was running, Aaron, who had been watching me, noticed.
His movement caused the assassin to change his aim towards me, but there were too many people in front of me to get there that fast for a while, so the damn assassin changed his aim again!
He rushed at Kate, who had been worried about me and had almost screamed out loud, and thrust a knife through.
From a long distance away, I saw a layer of black liquid coating the tip of that knife.
"Watch out!" I finally could not help but shout, but could not make any sound.
The knife eventually plunged into a man's chest.
He fell down without making a sound as everyone watched, and together with him collapsed the randomly built lectern behind him.
They were all smashed on top of him.
