Chapter 35: The Maid

Reader's POV
That's right, although she had only checked the information of the Blue Moon Pack before coming, Deborah could be sure that Aaron was interested in this Bertha.
After all, she was once Aaron's MATE, and this point of mind she could naturally guess.
She thought she should never forget the afternoon when she stood in front of the other side again after so many years, he had been talking to himself while he was either lost in thought or angry, but his eyes lit up like stars when he heard the sound of the door.
Then he rushed out the door, and there was nothing but the faint smell of medicine outside the door, and he stared at the empty corridor in disbelief.
The expression was so disappointed and frustrated, it was the first time she saw such an expression on Aaron's face.
Later she smelled the same herbal scent from her body.
Since then she had been watching the two, but to her annoyance and depression, they rarely saw each other. The only times she was even present.
Was it surprising that someone you barely saw a few times could not compete with someone you saw every day?
She identified all sorts of trouble for Aaron to increase his workload, while also giving him all the resource movements and member lists of the Pabu Wolf Pack over the years.
She knew this man, if he once did something, until the end he would put all his attention and energy into it. He couldn't care less about the little things like what people were looking for what challenges and what people had accidentally made some mess.
Maybe he won't look back until someone is dead.
So she can be more comfortable with this doctor sister who others say is 10,000 times better than her.
But even then she didn't get any advantage over me.
Deborah didn't know what it was like for them to get along before, but she knew very well that they didn't have any relationship to settle down yet.
That female wolf was not easy to get her hands on, she was proud of it.
She smiled again at the thought.
"What does it matter if you have a crush on her?" She whispered into the air, "Did she spend any special time with you too? Or does she know you better than I do?"
No, she thought, the person who has been with him all those years is me.
Whether he loved or hated me all these years, I was the only one he always remembered.
If not for that one time, he would have been mine and mine alone until now.
"Get my jewelry and gifts ready." She ordered to the slave waiting for orders in the corner, "Then go to your Alpha's office."
The wolfess in his office probably wouldn't be there, but it didn't matter, she could have her called in, after all, it really was rude not to accept gifts brought by guests, wasn't it?
Deborah's intentions were very good. However, the way there gave her an unexpected receipt.
The corridor was quiet, since she came to remove the person who deliberately gave her the wrong place, Aaron's office was quiet, and few people even passed by.
It also appeared that a certain figure lying in the study doorway like a burglar was very capable of attracting attention.
Deborah did not intend to shout out to the visitor, because she saw that the figure seemed to be a woman.
Could it be Bertha?
Was Aaron not there now?
She slowly walked up to ......
Edna just felt that today's day has been the unluckiest time in her life, she originally wanted to take Bertha's message to Aaron to get some impression points, but the result is that Aaron did not see, but turned his head and ran into Deborah.
Why is she standing so quietly in this place?
How long had she been watching herself?
Edna instantly spine out a layer of cold sweat, feel their hearts are beating to explode, she nodded stiffly to the other side, smiled even if it is a greeting, and then turned around and walked away.
Not a few steps away, Deborah called out to her: "What were you doing?"
Edna didn't dare to turn around, her back was turned to the woman and her nails were already fully pinched into her palms: "I wanted to report something to Lord Alpha."
Deborah was casually fiddling with her fingernails, some shiny trinkets on her nails glowed, shining on her face forming several icy patches of light, which made her face look both dangerous and cold: "What is it?
"What is it? You can just report back to me, it's the same anyway."
Edna couldn't help but shiver a little, "That doesn't seem like a good idea." She said. Her voice sounded completely different from before, the gentleness had disappeared. In its place was a somewhat coarse and low voice, like a slave who had to work long and hard to produce the sound, and not at all graceful.
Is this perhaps her original voice?
"Turn around." Deborah's eyes narrowed when she heard the words, "What are you always doing with your back turned?"
The other woman turned to stand face to face with her, but never looked up.
Her hands were twisted together and hanging down, her shoulders were hunched as if she was afraid of the cold, and her delicately groomed and scented hair was hanging down in sections by her cheeks, making her look like a serving girl who had made a mistake and was waiting for punishment.
Something about this person overlapped with a figure she remembered, making Deborah feel dizzy for a moment.
Could there be such a coincidence? she thought.
Deborah stared at Edna for a long time and said, "You look familiar, what's your name?"
At this point, Edna was tempted to turn her head and run, but that wasn't possible: "My name is Bertha."
Deborah couldn't have met Bertha, and it wouldn't be a bad thing to make an extra enemy for her.
Edna could only blame herself for not being in the same situation as before, so she didn't even know that it was obvious that Deborah already knew Bertha and was after her.
But she was probably so scared that her brain couldn't think before she gave such a stupid and deadly answer.
The moment Bertha's name was spoken Edna realized she might have said the wrong thing, but it was too late.
She was punched in the small of her back and her whole body curled up half on her knees.
"Didn't anyone tell you." The voice that had once been a nightmare sounded above her head again, "Do you have to curtsy when you see your own princess? Edna?"
Yes, it was the princess.
She was once a princess too, the only one in that wolf pack who could make everyone pretend she didn't exist.
Because at that time no one in the wolf pack even considered her, a princess of omega blood, as a princess.
Until later she exchanged herself as the price to get back everything she deserved in this wolf pack, the status, the power, and the man.
He was brought back by the princess.
At first Edna didn't notice him, she had too many things and people to pay attention to on a daily basis to remember that there was someone of his size. But at that time he was really hurt too badly.
Deborah's knife almost stabbed off half of his life, he was unconscious when he came to the Pabu wolf pack, and then this coma is half a month, during which Edna was asked to look after him, a little careless to be scolded by Deborah.
Yes, since Deborah brought him back her status is completely different from before, Edna once even saw her quarrel with the daughter of the Alpha, that is a real princess, with the best blood on the Pabu family.
That time their quarrel who lost and who won Edna did not know, but when she was called into the room by the princess because of a little thing hungry to wipe the floor all night, she knew that this just had the power and status of the omega princess will become her new master.
It wasn't hard. She quickly gained the other side's trust to her side through some of her own little ways.
And then Deborah was like finding a new outlet, her days were more difficult than before.
After all, Deborah hadn't reached the stage she thought she would, such as attending various parties and dealing with other wolves' upper class people or something. And to be frank, no one would like her at first if she was like the original master who didn't want to pick and choose her attendants.
Deborah chose her because she had no one around her to call on and she was in a vain stage of mind at that time.
Edna went from serving a man who washed and ate and did everything and was occasionally abused, to serving a man who was abused while taking care of another half-dead man, and it's hard to say whether this life has gotten better or worse.
Numerous times she looked at the face of the person lying there with a high fever and thought about how to smother him in secret, so that she could do less work and receive less scolding, but thought about it and finally could not do it.
Because Deborah is very vigilant, and he really looks very poor.
And then he finally woke up.
Edna heard his story and his life from others, and saw him punch through the bedpost in the room with her own eyes. For the first time, she felt that the high life she wanted might actually come from someone.
And that person definitely couldn't be Deborah.
She convinced herself it was natural to help Aaron escape from the Pabu pack, then hid herself away and started waiting.
The good thing is that Aaron did not let her wait too long, less than three years a new wolf pack appeared on the Black Sunset Mountain Range, she successfully entered the Blue Moon Pack by virtue of helping Aaron a hand in the past, and became a gentle goddess known by the Blue Moon Pack and even everyone nearby as long as she mentioned it.
Knowledge, softness, and elegance were things that were more moving than the jewels on her body.
Before Bertha appeared, almost everyone in the Blue Moon Pack tacitly agreed that she would be the Luna of the Blue Moon Pack, until today.
Edna was lying on the ground without any movement.
She was so scared that she didn't even think about resisting when the other side suddenly made a move towards her, just like before without making any sound being beaten, and then her first reaction was actually to sneak a look around to see if anyone could notice her.
At this moment, she felt as if all her clothes had been stripped off her body and discarded on the ground.
"Where have you been? My dear." A hand, soft and white, yanked her hair hard from behind forcing her face up, and Deborah's smiling face appeared above her head, "I've been looking for you." She said affectionately.
Edna knew in this moment that her suffering had begun.
