Chapter 56
Reader's POV
Their confusion and shock were in Adele's eyes.
But she didn't feel anything.
Once she thought she would not know what to do if she really came to this day, would cry and maybe even too nervous to finish.
But really to this day, she found that it is actually just that, she is very calm, calm is not like her own, for their various eyes she did not have a little bit of tension. But there is no imagined that a little happy and proud.
Just very calm, feel in a party that does not belong to them.
Adele had been preparing for this day for a long time.
She'd had the idea since her brother had welcomed the woman into the Blue Moon Pack and announced that they were working together.
She remembered to this day her reaction when she heard the news.
She didn't cry, nor was she angry.
She just felt that it was time for her to grow up.
From that day on she began to prepare. She approached Mike and Mrs. Macy and Mrs. Macy's son, and some people who had always been very kind to her.
Some of those people were her guards, like Mike, who was really just a titular, he wasn't really there for her, but he watched her grow up. Then there was her favorite cook, whom Mrs. Macy would almost consider her own little girl. And people who, like her, know what their wolves are overturned for.
They almost all have a common enemy.
The Pabu family, Deborah.
Adele knew what she was capable of, and she had no desire to replace her brother or anything. She just thought that maybe now it was time for her to protect herself. And to protect the people she loved, her brother, and Bertha.
She didn't know what Aaron was thinking, he might not be sincere in accepting Deborah, or maybe he had his own plans.
It didn't matter, he wouldn't have told himself the plan anyway.
And she was no longer interested in his plans now.
She thought that if one day, the day did come when her brother was taken down by that woman, it would be up to her to create a mess and then kill her herself.
But she didn't think that day would come so soon.
They had even made a date to eat turkey together the night before.
Then someone told her that Deborah had let Edna go last night.
Edna. Jones. Adele had thought about quietly going to help her out. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Unfortunately, she did not wait to do so, Deborah let her go.
Adele felt a little sorry for her while thinking how Deborah would let her go.
After all, isn't she the one she hates the most now?
But she soon realized that if you would one day let go of the person you hated most, it was definitely not because you had forgiven her, but you might have had a reason for having to let her go.
For example, she paid the greatest price for something, or, she no longer has value.
She no longer has the value of being hated because you have someone more hated.
Who else could Deborah hate?
Adele thought of the two men who had stood her up together, and Bertha came back so late that she felt she had gotten the truth.
Sure enough, the next day she only got up shortly after her little spy, a little girl named Jennifer, came running to tell her that Bertha was packing her closet and had changed into a very beautiful dress.
Adele was certainly not foolish enough to think that her stupid brother had proposed to her goddess last night. She was sensitive enough to realize that something had happened last night and that Bertha was leaving.
This wasn't hard for Adele to accept; she had thought about it back when Deborah had entered the Blue Moon Pack. But she couldn't let go of it in her heart.
So always think things are not so bad, is there any remedy, will not brother is just lying to that woman, obviously he really seems to like Bertha very much right?
And even if you want to go, it should be Deborah who goes, shouldn't it?
Adele thought that whether she left or not, she should go see her again.
This way, even if she really chose to leave now, she would not be sad because of a person.
But she never thought she would see such a Bertha, and she didn't expect Deborah to be so hard on her.
When she saw Bertha lying on the ground looking as if she was going to pass out at any time, the only thought in her mind was not anything else, but that she must kill Deborah.
This thought came so fast and fierce that she even scared herself.
But Adele also hesitated for just that moment.
She watched the woman's lips close and close across her face, how the smile on her face was so annoying.
Yes. She replied silently in her mind.
You're right, I'm a loser. I hurt my brother, and I hurt my sister Bertha.
But who are you to say this to me? Who are you to?
Everyone in the world can accuse me of disliking me, but you can't! Who are you to say this to me, who are you to say this to me!
You got my father killed, you got my mother killed, you left me without a home.
Why did I become so useless, why did I shout at him then, don't you know?
You knew, you knew full well.
Just like now you know you could never be better than Bertha, you never could!
She knew she had read it.
She gave herself a smile, the same smile she had given herself many years ago, mean, shameless, and sweet.
With this smile she answered herself.
So what? Your parents are still dead and will never come back. She is better than me, but she is dying now too.
Adele's beaten heart fell little by little, her fists clenched little by little.
She lifted the vase and took a step forward and smashed it hard on the werewolf's head.
At that moment her heart was very painful.
I've killed someone.
She thought.
I've killed someone!
He will die.
I smashed the back of his head, which Bertha had said was the most vulnerable place for people and animals. I saw the shard had gone deep. I wouldn't save him.
No one would save him.
"Be a good boy. Listen to your brother."
"You're just a little girl, Adele."
Yeah I'm a little girl, but I'll always grow up.
"Don't do things that make you feel bad, it hurts you, and the people you love."
So I'm just going to watch someone else come along and hurt the people I love?
Why can't I do that?
Why do I have to wait for someone else to tell me what to do?
Why can't I just have my own ideas and do what I want to do?
She gently raised one hand and gestured where her loved one could not see.
A melee started from that moment.
Adele hung her head and stood motionless in the middle of the room.
You go away, she thought to herself.
Take this chance to get out of here now. I know you have it in you.
Whether you're Bertha or Ava, or whatever, it doesn't matter.
I'll miss you.
She looked up to see the other woman's back again, but through her tears, she saw a figure racing toward her.
Once again, she couldn't help but open her arms.
Ava's POV
"Stop the movement in your hands."
I strangled Adele's neck with one arm and felt her tears falling one by one.
"Stop the movement in your hands."
I repeated again.
Aaron was standing less than two meters away from me, looking at me silently, without any expression.
"Stop the movement in your hands!"
I swallowed and yelled again.
No one moved anymore, and everyone stared at me in shock.
"Let her go!"
Deborah was cooperative, walking over with her hands spread wide with anxiety and concern.
"You've already fetched the Blue Moon Pack's information, and you're still not satisfied?"
"What do I have to be satisfied with." I smiled and my eyes slowly swept over the faces of the group of people behind her.
Most of them were bewildered. There were quite a few with angry faces, all of them from the Paboo Wolf Pack.
"I'll leave you alive for the sake of not intentionally hurting anyone, get your ass back to your Bright Moon Pack." She continued with a cold grunt, "You better not use children as a shield."
"You're from Bright Moon Pack?"
A man finally couldn't resist asking.
I didn't answer. There was no need for me to answer at this point anyway.
"Bright Moon Pack's violent physician, the red-haired witch." Deborah applauded while turning her head to me, "You still aren't going to introduce yourself, Ava?"
"Ava?"
"Ava!"
"Since you didn't quit Bright Moon Pack at all, what are you doing here in our wolf pack?"
"Good question." Deborah complimented, "What do you say? Ava. What are you doing here?"
"Taking care of our little princess? Trick her into revealing her brother's weaknesses and then heal her brother?"
Adele stirred uneasily.
I added a little more strength to my arm and felt the knife in my hand, "Yes. Children have simple brains; a little deception will not say everything. It's pathetic."
I could feel Adele's body stiffen into stone in this moment, but now there was nothing I could do, I could only continue to say with a stiff head. "If you hadn't come out and spoiled me, I might have been willing to cheat her again. Finally abducted back as a small slave."
Little slave Adele completely can not believe stepped on my foot, not a bit of pain.
And her brother, that expression I really can not describe, looks weird and calm.
Deborah, obviously aware that I was digging a hole for her to try to clear the impending stigma on Adele, turned her head and started outputting to the Blue Moon Pack people.
What I gave their Alpha a cure was just an excuse to actually harm him, what now all the wolves knew that Blue Moon Pack's Alpha was sick, and that there would be more and more plots against Blue Moon in the future. And what Edna is actually one of my people, etc., etc.
I doubt that I am really that powerful.
After all, Bright Moon Pack side Carson has questioned me many times Blue Moon Pack really has a guard post, and I always look at that a lone guard post to answer him: yes, and very much.
