Chapter 14

Ava's POV
What great reason could make an Alpha not forget to instruct his men to get a doctor for him while he was in the shower?
Is he the kind of person who won't give up on any of his treatments?
Of course not.
I stood staring at the shower curtain, pondering whether this was an accident or a deliberately planned prank, or a new trick from this sick, violent maniac.
The last one should be unlikely, and I don't think he would do anything with such underhanded tactics.
"Then maybe he wants you to take an interest in him?"
"That's even less likely." I replied confidently. "Even though he doesn't seem to like Edna at all, he definitely doesn't have any half-hearted interest in me either, I promise. And ......"
"And what?" Fog asked me curiously, having not heard the words that followed half the time.
I didn't say anything back, however, I was looking away from Aaron's bathing figure.
I really just remembered something from before, after seeing his body.
Perhaps the cold water switch was turned on, the fog in the bathroom slowly receded, and I saw through the curtain the man in the water with only his shoulders exposed. Water droplets kept sliding down his silver hair, then dripped down his chin and landed on the foam.
Probably feeling a little hot, he moved up a little more and leaned over the bathtub surface and closed his eyes.
I should have turned to leave, but the moment my eyes touched his chest, I suddenly stopped moving.
It was covered with scars, all kinds of scars.
The longest one cuts across the heart and runs from the left shoulder to the right side of the waist, perhaps because so much time has passed that it looks like an earthworm, fully bulging.
While others are more, there is even a patch of skin that is folded and should be scalded.
While scars can add to a man's charm, so many words conjure up nothing but horror.
I really don't know what he's been through, a werewolf's resilience is no joke, but there are actually so many irreversible scars. If these scars were caused once or twice, I guess he would have ceased to exist by now.
Was he subjected to some kind of chronic abuse?
And his sister, Adele a lot of times show how to look not a normal grown-up little girl should have the appearance, she is too much like the former Kate.
Maybe, and I mean maybe, those rumors are true.
Aaron used to be a rouge, wandering around with his sister, then building his wolf pack in countless battles.
Just like I did when I was trying to live with Kate.
"Are you heartbroken?" Fog's voice sounded very calm.
I still couldn't hold back my retort to her in shock and memory. "What's so heartwarming about a body just like that, do you think I'm some 13 or 14 year old ignorant girl?"
Fog, however, asked me back. "So, you've been staring at it for so long?"
I repeated to her again with some helplessness. "If there really was something, I would have established a mate relationship the first time I met him, would I have waited until now?"
Fog seemed to let out a laugh. "Yes, yes, there's nothing wrong with how you say it. Take it easy for a minute and look at your medicine."
My medicine? What's my medicine?
I then reacted to the fact that today has entered the second stage of treatment, in addition to some of the previous things, this time I also prepared a special herbal soup, which is contained in a bottle in the medical bag.
And now there is no temperature at all.
Instead, he remained unmoving, as if he was simply enjoying his time soaking in the hot water.
However, what I didn't know was that Aaron, who didn't move at all in my eyes, seemed to have fallen asleep and was talking to his wolf at the moment.
Even from the time I walked in the door he always knew.
Reader's POV
"Someone came in." Rock said.
"It's the female wolf." After a moment, Rock added.
Aaron pretended he didn't hear it, he was going to get up and now he simply sat back down in the tub.
The window was opened by him. Before he was too stuffy in the house opened the window, the wind blew in through the curtain that was blown open a little, he saw the other side slowly across the living room to close the window for him.
She wore a plain black top today, the top hem of the dress was a little short, just to reveal a white and slender waist.
"You've spent more time in this bath than all the baths you've taken this year combined, how much longer are you going to take?"
Rock thought it was odd. "And don't you have night training today? You should hurry up a little. You know that a day without training will reduce your speed out of the gate by one point! How else are you going to protect your sister and lead the wolves?"
Aaron's brain hurt from all the noise he was making. "Shut up!"
Yet his wolf never learns to shut up when it's time to shut up. "Are you still afraid of being seen naked by a female wolf? Hurry up! If you're slower, there's less time for training."
Said also softly muttered another sentence. "That female wolf also do not know what staring at you are looking at, do you want to sneak attack?"
Aaron wanted to say that no one would engage in a sneak attack while someone was in the shower, but felt it was too decisive to say so, and the other party might find many examples to refute him.
But he ended up being silent, half-heartedly, before answering. "Do you think I don't want to hurry up?"
Rock seemed to realize something and closed his mouth instantly.
Aaron looked at her again, but the person blocking his bathroom door didn't seem to be aware of anything.
She held her chin, her gaze focused and even with a hint of a smile. Not the slightest blush of embarrassment, it looks like it has seen a lot.
Not to mention this body covered in scars?
Aaron was still embarrassed and helpless because of his own physical reaction, but at this time began to be annoyed and irritated, the heart of that fire is like a spoonful of oil added completely burned up.
Since this is the case ......
He wanted to.
If that is the case.
His hand, which had been propped up on the side of the tub, slowly slid down and into the water.
Water and foam were the best lubricants, and he turned his wrists, his breathing began to be ragged, and he closed his eyes with the back of his head pressed against the wall ......
Ava's POV
I finally saw him move in my wanderings and thought he had finished his shower. I was still thinking whether I should now exit immediately to apologize for my rudeness, or come back in as if nothing had happened? Just as my thoughts were confused, I noticed that the shameless guy was actually doing that!
What the hell am I doing standing here?
I don't know if Aaron was happy with the result or something else, but I actually noticed that he seemed to open his eyes and glance my way. Then the corners of his mouth ticked, revealing a smile.
My eyes did not dare to linger any longer, almost lamely ran out of the room, and even made a loud noise when the door was closed.
"Shameless! He definitely found me out and actually continued to do that kind of thing!" I touched my burning cheeks and couldn't help but curse as I quickly walked down the stairs.
Fog spoke flatly of what I knew to be true. "The Alpha's perception probably knew you were there from the moment you walked in the door."
I got even more angry. "Knowing that means he's even more shameless! Nasty! I've never seen such a rogue Alpha!"
"Who told you to stand there and gawk?"
I gritted my teeth and kept quiet.
Fog, probably thinking I hadn't heard, continued. "And you haven't seen many Alpha's."
I stiffened and continued my retort. "Then he must be the nastiest Alpha I've ever met in my life."
"Maybe." Fog echoed me in a perfunctory manner, then asked. "So what were you thinking standing there?"
What else can I think about?
The only thing is surprised at why he has so many scars on his body, in thinking about how much he was injured at that time, who knows that he did not move for half a day is doing that kind of thing.
No wonder he acted that way when we first met. Maybe he has no shortage of suitors and mates at all.
Thinking about it, I couldn't help but feel even worse, and simply changed directions and went to Adele.
Adele should be painting in her room right now. I remember she used to paint the evening sunset after dinner.
She was indeed in her room, but instead of painting, she was holding her chin in a daze, happy to see me coming, and had made the trip to get her own treasured fruit wine.
I smiled at her with some embarrassment. "Would it bother you?"
"Of course not." She winked and with a mischievous smile poured the wine into her own glass and pushed it toward me.
"But I don't have any other cups, so I hope you don't mind."
"I won't." I raised my glass at her and took a big swig.
It's a good cider, and pouring it down your throat is like rolling in a ball of fire with cool air. The wine was cold, but it burned the esophagus and stomach.
Half a bottle of wine went down, and our conversation became more casual and disorganized. In a moment of inadvertence, when I asked if Aaron already had another mate, Adele's face, which was just smiling, suddenly collapsed, and a shadow covered her entire face like a dark cloud.
"There won't be." Her tone was cold and raw, leaving me a little dumbfounded.
Probably realizing my reaction, she added. "But he used to have a mate."
I froze for a moment and said. "Does that mean he's dissolved the relationship?"
Adele shook her head and said. "Every werewolf has a mate of their own, that's what everyone says, so the brother pre-selected one and they were together for quite a while, but then ......"
I continued to ask. "How did it go afterwards?"
It is rare to know that wolves can confirm their mate with each other very quickly, so quickly that they even just need to touch and sniff, yet it is surprising that they have not established a relationship after spending so much time together.
"Then she betrayed him and left a scar on his chest."
It was the scar on his chest. I thought to myself, "So that's where it came from.
No wonder, only someone close to him could have the opportunity to make such a cut in that position, both deep and long, as if a hand was going to rip out his heart at that time.
Adele continued. "My brother almost died if I ......"
I heard her voice start to tremble and interrupted her in a hurry. "But it's all in the past, isn't he fine now? Things like this won't happen again in the future."
Adele nodded firmly and said. "With you helping your brother to condition, Blue Moon Pack will also grow slowly and surely get better and better. Besides, even if it's bad, it won't be as bad as the days in the Colosseum at that time."
"And you guys have been in the Colosseum?" I was really surprised.
The Colosseum was that cruel, and Aaron protected his beautiful sister so well in every way, the difficulties of which can be imagined.
Perhaps seeing my reflection in Aaron, I sighed to Fog. "Forget it, although he is shameless and nasty, but at least he is a good person."
Fog, however, said. "Whether it's a good guy or not I don't know, but you're all over him now anyway."
Is it?
I couldn't help but look at Adele, who was already smiling happily and planning a bright future, she seemed to be a little drunk and her face had turned a light pink.
Is it really getting better?
