Chapter 65 Obedience

Reader's POV
The plan had failed, that much was obvious.
Though Sam didn't agree.
"But aren't all those old guys from the Pabu pack dead?" He said stubbornly, "That's good enough for us. You know all sorts of things were already happening today, and add to that Adele."
"That was just an accident!" Aaron rudely interrupted, "And it was my failure to watch over her that got her ......"
"Don't tease Aaron." Sam looked at him, "Why do you always never figure out what kind of choices you should really make in these areas."
The words clearly stung him.
But Sam thought he should go on anyway, "You always think you're putting everyone in a position that you feel is right for you, but what about the reality?"
Aaron was silent.
"Did you bother to ask Adele to come with me to the Cibo wolf pack?"
"I asked."
"Did you?" Sam no longer wanted to look at him, "And I seem to have told you that I had gone to her before that didn't I?"
"Okay. Okay." Aaron grabbed his hair and broke down, "I didn't, I didn't mention to her at all that you had invited her to be your guest. But you know that these days ......"
"These days?" Sam simply applauded his defensive attitude up to this point in time, "Haven't she been waiting these days for you to explain to her, to talk to her about what's going on?"
"Or do you expect her to figure out for herself the feelings you have for your good Bertha that no one knows are buried deep inside?"
Aaron stared at him blankly, as if he didn't understand what the hell he was talking about.
"Do you want me to be more clear?"
Sam pressed him closer, "You always seemed to think of her as a little girl, not as the only family you had, the one you could stand shoulder to shoulder with in a fight."
"Sure, I know you're probably going to say how much you want to protect her, how much responsibility you have because your parents left, so you don't want her to get hurt even a little bit. But have you thought about it Aaron?"
Aaron was his paragraph said the brain are a little dizzy, at this time to hear him ask this, also dumbfounded to answer: "What?"
"She is a person. Not a glass bead that you can carry in your arms."
"She misses her dead family as much as you do, and carries the same hatred for the destruction of the entire wolf pack as you do."
Sam shook his head as he spoke, "And you? You would just put her in a position where it seemed like she was safe and then let her just watch you. Watch you succeed or fail."
"If she succeeds, she's your witness. And if she fails, she's a drag and a burden in everyone's eyes."
"That's not fair to her."
"It is." Aaron nodded, "I know it's not fair. But I really don't have the mood or the extra energy to think about my sister's education right now, you understand my brother."
He said as he walked to the window, "I admit I had a personal interest in bringing her today, but I just wanted her to see for herself what happens to these people we hate now. I didn't mean anything else. Despite the result ......" he paused for a moment, "really, if it all happened again, I would still take her."
Sam really didn't know what to say.
"I know what you're talking about too, I've actually thought about these things a million times." He gestured to his head, "Here it is. But I can't really ever let go."
"As long as she's not with me, I feel like there's always a shiny knife behind me. The tip of the knife is pointed at my back, as if it will pierce my heart at any given moment. I know you'll think it's funny and think I'm weak. But whatever. There's nothing I can do about it."
Sam opened his mouth, but finally didn't say anything.
"What's the casualty count this time?" Deborah asked calmly, with her eyes closed and her maid kneeling beside her to wipe the blood off her fingers.
The people below couldn't help but shiver when they heard this tone of her voice, but no one came forward to speak. The auditorium, which can accommodate hundreds of people, is as silent as a graveyard.
A few minutes passed, the atmosphere was so quiet that people felt anxious.
Every now and then, someone poked the shoulder of his companion and asked him to look at the female wolf standing on the auditorium. But most of them just hurriedly glanced at it and lowered their heads again, and shrank their shoulders even deeper.
This made Deborah watch from above and the more she looked, the more her anger grew.
It is also. The original can come out to speak is also Pabu wolf pack alive those noblemen, when has it ever been related to them?
Deborah endured and endured, but she was still so alone being thrown on the stage, and a group of people below seemed to be waiting to see her joke.
She slowly rolled her eyes, looking at the group one by one like a bunch of dead people, withdrew her eyes and suddenly smiled, "No one is talking. That means there are no dead people?"
This sentence was said, the following naked eye can see the chaos, so that Deborah in the heart of another sigh.
Such a chaotic situation of leaving the leader unattended could not have happened when the Pabu wolf pack was in full bloom. It was even in her hands when it was not quite in full bloom, it had never been this chaotic.
However, the nobles of the Pabu Wolf Pack had almost died out, and the remaining ones were just some dependent ordinary wolves. They have no need to follow her, only a Pabu family name of the omega princess continue to do, now the Pabu clan all dead, I'm afraid that she can not control the situation simply scattered.
Or worse, they choose to rebel, kill her as an obstructive deputy, and then push out a new Alpha to the throne.
How could Deborah allow that to happen?
"Why not just ask the Blue Moon Pack for peace in this situation, where is not to stay? Besides, the female wolf still can't."
This sentence although the voice is very small, but just at this time clearly reached everyone's ears. The original chaos in the hall quiet for a few seconds, then as if to cover up something again chaos.
Her hands were bruised, squeezing the armrest of the stool, which was about to hold on with a slight creaking sound.
"I'll think about that suggestion." She clutched the armrest, which had shattered in her hand, tightly in her hand and tried to smooth out her tone, "Now go get the wine out of the warehouse for the mourning ceremony."
Cheers came from the crowd, no one cared how many royals had died, but they could taste the wine that was normally only available to the nobles, and they would not pass up such an opportunity.
"In memory of our fallen comrades."
She whispered as she raised her glass to the man who carried the case of wine, and then poured the rest of the wine in the glass down her throat.
"To the memory of our fallen comrades and compatriots."
The other man raised his glass to her as well.
Half a minute later, the waitress, who had been a little excited by her first drink of such a rich liquor, shook her head and smashed to the ground, the glass falling to pieces beside her face.
Deborah sighed softly and knelt down to help her close her eyes.
"Blame it on their stupidity." She whispered, "Otherwise I wouldn't have thought to use it this way."
"You've been with me for too long, and I couldn't let you die too ugly. So I'll have to condemn you to go first."
She finished this last sentence lightly, stood up and walked towards the outside of the auditorium.
The sound of a riot was heard from the warehouse behind the auditorium. Countless footsteps rang out chaotically, and some people ran out in panic, but were torn to pieces by the wolves in the next second. There were more and more people who suddenly wolfed out, their eyes were red and they seemed to have lost their minds long ago, attacking others indiscriminately.
Until, a whistle sounded, the group of wolves had that moment of clarity, or purpose, from the chaos, and then proceeded to run towards the source of the sound.
"What's the situation? We can't miss this one, we mustn't give Adele a chance to catch her breath." Sam asked impatiently as soon as the scout arrived.
No wonder he was alert, even in that situation, Deborah was able to hold Adele hostage to buy herself a chance of survival. Now if you no longer keep an eye on it, it is not impossible to set up a new wolf pack from scratch one day.
The scout's voice trembled and he said with some alarm, "That crazy woman, I don't know what she did, but the group that entered the warehouse suddenly went berserk and started killing each other until the sound of whistles appeared."
Sam asked, "What's in the warehouse?"
The scout thought about it and said, "It seems to be wine, Deborah said something, and the group went to that warehouse happily, but it didn't take long for something like that to happen."
The sudden rampage, coupled with the sound of the whistle ......
Aaron Lane was startled, this had happened before, it was the work of a mad apothecary, those who had taken the drug would not be able to control the berserk and listen to the sound of the whistle.
And that pharmacist called this poison "obedience".
Simple and straightforward name, but it reveals a lot of malice.
I heard that this drug even the Alpha may be hit, the thought of this, Aaron body out of a cold sweat, actually glad he did not expose in front of Deborah.
Otherwise, the downfall of the Pabu wolf pack may be Blue Moon's.
But the side effects of such a drug are also great, behind the extremely strong power, the price paid is life.
At first, the announcement of this medicine shocked the senior management of the wolf pack, and also brought death to the genius pharmacist.
Until a long time from then, there was no longer any trace of this potion, and only then did the major wolf packs let down their guard.
"I always thought that after that person was assassinated, the formula of the potion disappeared." Aaron could not believe it said, "Where did she find such a thing?"
Sam gave him a somewhat complicated look: "You probably can't imagine."
"What?"
"This remedy is a modified recipe. The side effect selection is not as good as the previous one that was as hypnotic as 'obedience'. And the person who changed the formula is probably familiar to you."
Aaron had an absolutely impossible speculation.
"Is it Bertha?!"
"Ava." Sam corrected him, "Seven or eight years ago Bright Moon Pack's violent healer Ava claimed to have improved the obedience formula that could be used to guide werewolves painlessly through the transformation period and to treat mental illness. But as you know, the werewolves are simply too squeamish about this drug. So ......"
"So?"
"So she put it on the black market and ended up selling it supposedly for three dollars." Sam sneered as he lamented, "I'm afraid that's why Adele sat in that position, and it's no wonder the Pabu wolf pack's status rose so quickly, it turned out to be using such a method."
"If they dare to make it public, I'm afraid they will be besieged by all the wolves, but Adele has done it so openly and honestly, I'm afraid ......" Sam's gaze looked at Aaron with worry.
Aaron was clear in his heart that Deborah could now do this to show that she already did not care at all.
She is bound to fight him to the death, although he is not afraid, but he can not bet on the entire Blue Moon Pack.
Sam could see Aaron's tangle, strong when has he ever bowed his head to others, but ...... it didn't seem like he hadn't.
"Ahem ...... the side effects of that medicine, in fact, it won't take long for the Pabu wolf pack to die out."
"Not long indeed for other wolves, but I don't want Blue Moon to have any losses, or at least, no casualties under that mindless pack."
Sam felt he should probably have been more clear: "I think maybe we could try to work with another pack, knowing that everyone would be happy with such a situation."
Aaron gave him a blank look and said, "It's not idiotic to be willing, the Pabu wolves are down to their last breath, leaving them alone won't have any effect on them, who's willing to take the loss to help us defend against them?"
Sam finally couldn't stand Aaron, "I mean, maybe we can go to Bright Moon Pack for an alliance, after all,...... there are ...... acquaintances there. Moreover, there is the new formulator of obedience."
Hearing Bright Moon Pack, Aaron obviously froze for a moment, and then fell into memory.
