Happy Birthday To Me

Finally. I woke up 30 minutes ago as a full-fledged 21-year-old I was not sure how I would feel or how Seleste would feel but I feel more united to her than ever. It’s like we woke up and we are one were on the same wavelength. I’m still lying-in bed our birthday tradition says we have to bring each other our favourite breakfast in bed, Cynth has already linked me to check if I’m awake so I know they are on their way and I’m praying they bring me French toast with strawberries, maple syrup and cream. It’s like Dessert but for breakfast and honestly, I cannot get enough of it, I feel Seleste mutually agree with me.

Like they sensed I was ready to devour enough food for 6 people Arti and Cynth come into my room carrying a huge plate of French toast and another of bacon she’s also carrying a giant balloon, behind her I can see Arti carrying Several bags that appear to be full of presents. I climb out from under the quilt opting to sit on top instead and they sit too.

I take the tray from them and simultaneously they start to sing Happy Birthday and I feel my cheeks go red, I’m so lucky to have them in my life without realising they have stopped singing and are looking at me with sadness in their eyes its then I realise that I’m crying.

"Sel, what’s wrong, are you okay why are you crying " Arti grabs my hand and its I feel the tingles between us, I knew they said we would be more aware of one another when I turn 21 but this is amazing.

Through my now intensified tears I manage to mumble the words. "I’m fine, I’m just so happy to have you both I’m so great full to both of you”.

Cynth then grabs my other hand and something none of us expected happens, I look up and them both and their eyes are glowing by the looks on their faces mine are too, and I know they both feel this surge of energy and I know Seleste can feel it their wolves too I can feel them, we just became even more connected. We pull out hands away from one another and sit just eyeing each other before finally the silence is weird, and I speak.

"Guys what the hell was that you both felt that right?"

Cynthia is the first to speak.

"I felt that, and Cyrus too she is going crazy she keeps saying she has her sister back she's so excited”.

"Aria too, it’s like she knows your wolves already, maybe it’s because we are sisters and not because of the fact our eyes just glowed super bright when we touched."

Deciding that I do not want to focus on this anymore it is my birthday after all, and I have yet to even taste the breakfast I change the subject. "Okay, let’s not focus on that it was weird and this breakfast is getting cold ...and I know those bags are full or presents for me!"

Both of them laugh and we all tuck into the breakfast much to my dismay We talk and eat for about an hour, a few people knock on the door to say happy birthday and drop of presents. Between myself Arti and Cynth, we agree to all go take showers get dressed and then come back to my room and open present. We agree to meet back at 11.30 so that gives me like an hour and a half before they are back so really, I have 1 hour to sit and do nothing and half hour to get ready.

Perfect. I decide to get a shower and get dressed first then feel all the presents trying to guess what’s inside before sitting in my bean bag chair windows open just appreciating today. I’m sitting in the chair then I feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up as my door knocks.
"Great what does this dick want "Seleste is clearly pissed but how does she even know who it is.

I get up to open the door and as soon as I do, I am met with the last face I would want to see on this day, Ash. He doesn't look me in the eye but honestly, I’m glad I pray to the moon goddess the sun goddess the fairy freaking god mother that he is not my mate. I try to stop him from coming in, but he just pushes right past me and walk into my room.

Still with his head down and looking around my room the ass of the universe opens his mouth "So Sel, today's the day, when do you want to start packing up your stuff to move into my room”.

He is so sleazy Seleste agrees "Let’s get this absolute Gubbins out or room ".

"Ash did you come here for the sole reason of staring at my belongings or does your visit have a purpose?"

I am still stood holding the door open internally willing him to leave. Like he planned this whole thing he pulled me away from the door close to him and then looked me in the eyes with this weird half smile, I think he was trying to smoulder at me but honestly, I’m more occupied with the fact that he’s looking at me and I feel nothing!!

Seleste is internally jumping for joy! Finally, he is going to leave us alone we are not his mate HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY TO ME!
With so much sarcasm and all the sass I can muster " Ash, I think you've got your answer, as for my stuff I think at least for now its staying where it is don’t you? " I pull away from him pointing towards the door.

"If you think that I’m going to let you get away from me this easily you have another thing coming Selene, you might not be my mate but that doesn’t mean you art mine " A half smile appears on his face like he knows something I don’t.

"Ash, get the fuck out of my room. This is over you wanted me to be your mate, I am not that’s it over and done with. Just let it drop and go and find your own mate "He pushes me up against the wall breathing heavily in my ear Seleste is going crazy and I can feel her rising. “Sel if he doesn’t back off, I’m going to rip him apart!" She is so mad.

I grimace as he speaks "Selene, don’t be so naive you were made for me and I will have you”.

I am about you push him of when he’s ripped from in front of me and thrown out the door.

"I’m fairly sure she told you to leave, she’s not your mate so back off! " I look up to see Dom stood in the doorway shouting at Ash, I walk up behind him, Ash looks at us both absolutely furious without another word he stands up and walks away.

I take a step back hoping Dom will just leave but he does not. It’s not that I don’t want to talk to him or were not happy for him it’s just so awkward, the last time we were in my room alone we were talking about how we wanted to be mates and then as soon as we agreed it was over and he found liv.

"Sel "

Ah crap he is still here trying to act casual I reply.
"Hey Dom, what’s up, good to see you”.

Ah man I am such a loser that was not casual.

"I just wanted to come and wish you happy birthday and well I was hoping we could talk seeing as we haven’t muttered a single word in over a week, and you’ve been sick and is as worried and didn’t know if you would want me to come and see you”.

He speaks like he has word vomit saying everything without taking a breath, I can sense the sadness in his eyes though.

"We should just let it go Sel he obviously cares about us and he just saved us from Ash he’s a good guy”.
Internally agreeing I reply to him.

"Look Dom, you didn’t do anything wrong I really am happy for you and I’m sorry that I made you feel like I didn’t want to talk to you, I was just so embarrassed. Truth be told id become accustomed to the idea that I would be your mate and after what happened that morning, I just didn't know how to face you”.

"Sel, you have nothing to be embarrassed about I really thought you would be and then Liv showed up and I got so caught up in finding her that it wasn’t until I saw you walking and listen to us talk that I realised what that would mean for you so I’m sorry”.

We carry on talking and he tells me how happy he is with Liv, and that she will be moving in here soon with him. His eyes are filled with so much happiness I cannot even be mad or embarrassed anymore about the leave when he turns around and pull a small box out of his pocket.

Handing me the box he simply says, "Happy Birthday Sel, I bought this before everything happened, but I would still like you to have it " Without saying another word he smiles and leaves down the hallway.

I close the door leaning on it and open the small box inside is the more beautiful emerald green necklace there’s a little note in the box too which simply said, "*A little something to match your eyes love Dom x* “. It was uniquely beautiful.

I put it on and right on time Arti and Cynth come in huge smiles on their faces.

I spin around on my foot "TIME FOR PRESENTS "
