A List Of Problems

**Calder's POV**


In 3 hours Selene and I will make our way back to her pack after I dropped her to her sisters I started getting things into motion I know I told her not to tell anyone but I had to tell Sigi I’ve sworn him to secrecy and as my beta he cannot tell not even Cynthia .

He was not happy about it, both the keeping it from her and the fact that we would be going alone he tried to convince me to at least bring Fin or Dom. The only arguments I could come up with is that Fin is too Important and while Dom is mated to Liv we cannot trust him enough yet , its partially true but in reality I know that Dom and Sel have a history and I want him nowhere near her .

After debating this plan for a full 30 minutes he agreed and helped me to formulate a plan, it was agreed we would leave at as soon as its dark enough , Sigi will relieve one of our guards and take his place so we can get through without being seen .I look up at Sigi when are done and he is pulling that face he makes when he wants to ask me something .

"Sigi, just ask what you want to ask I can see it in your eyes " I lean back in my chair waiting for him to answer.

"*Well, there’s been talk among the pack about you and Selene. People are wondering when they are going to formally meet their Luna*” He looks at me with a kind of half smile and then his face hardens again

"*and well , it’s not just that Calder , your mother has heard you have found your mate and is not happy that she has not met her yet or that you haven't had not been to see her and your father to let them know* "

I sigh taking in a deep breath I figured that my mother would hear about this and I know how she’s going to react , visions of her over dramatic sighs and over the top hand movements while she tells me what a horrible son I am for forgetting her fill my brain .

"I’ll talk to her tomorrow and then I’ll tell her she can plan the Luna ceremony she will be so happy she'll forget all about how I betrayed her "

I put emphasis on the betrayed her and roll my eyes and Sigi lets out a small chuckle when we are done, he nod and goes to leave saying something about dinner with Cynthia.

The thought of food prompts me to leave the office shortly after and head to the kitchen passing some of the pack members as I go instantly, they start to gossip but I give them a cold stare and they stop and bow their heads.

It occurs to me but I haven't trained with my pack or payed much attention to them in the weeks since the ball , sitting down at the kitchen counter I decide that that’s what I’ll do tomorrow , until Sel is officially Luna and can do this with me I need to focus on them .

"*Hello Alpha Calder, is there something I can get you to eat?*"

A soft voice pulls me from my thoughts, and I look up to see Sibyl, although we have only spoken a few times one of them being this morning it’s easy to see why she is so loved by her pack members. She has a kind face the kind that would make you want to talk to her, and you'd know that she would keep it to herself.

"Just a sandwich would be great thanks " I smile, and she nods politely heading over to the fridge pulling out some ingredients.

She turns towards me "*Roast beef okay?*"

"That would be great"

I have a sudden urge to ask her about Selene and her sisters I know only what they have told me, but I wonder what they were like before all of this.

"Sibyl, would you have lunch with me?"
She turns to me shocked.

"*Alpha Calder it wouldn't be proper for me to eat with you* "

I laugh it off.
"Its fine Sibyl, I’m not your Alpha and I’m inviting you, I want to know more about the pearl moon pack "
I head towards her taking over the sandwich making and usher for her to sit, she hesitated but eventually sits down.

As I attempt poorly to make a sandwich hear her giggle behind me.
"*You don’t do this often do you Alpha* "

"It’s Calder and your correct I do not do this often if at all actually " I give her a wide grin as I set the plate in front of her with the poorly made sandwich with very much ripped bread and I sit next to her.

"*Thank you, so what is it that you wanted to know?*"

"I was wondering if you could tell me about Selene parents?"
Her body stiffens next to mine at the question.

"*Well their parents were kind hardworking people there other worked at the hospital and their father was a warrior in the pack* "

She takes a bite of her food and smiles at me, I can’t tell she’s not comfortable, but I ask her another question anyway.
"What about the girls what were they like growing up?"

I don’t know why I’m even asking this woman I could ask Sel, but I feel like she won’t tell me everything and Sibyl will.

"*Well they were all very different but they all have the confidence they have now Artemis was also strong and proud and if anyone did anything to her sisters you wouldn't want to cross her I remember her breaking a few noses when she was small , and Cynthia well she was always kind and caring she would look after animals she found injured and she would always visit the hospital taking with her flowers for the sick she was so lovely . When they grew up, they also turned quite a few heads their father became a stickler from standing on the doorstep when they were walking home scaring away the young male wolves who followed them trying to get their attention.*"

She laughs as the thought and then looks to me.

"*And Selene, well she was different. Defiant and strong willed if she did not want to do something there was no way anyone could make her , and after her parents passed away that rebellious streak continued on but she cares for other so deeply and she would do anything to protect those around her. When my husband passed, she visited me every day and became like a surrogate granddaughter to me eventually her sisters would visit too they are very important to me Calder. I’ve watched them grow into amazing strong women who are a credit to their parents* "

"Thank you for telling me about them I appreciate it " I wanted to more but after hearing her I now know her loyalties lie with the sisters I’m grateful that she watched over them.
We finish out food in Silence and then Sibyl stands to clear the plates I push my chair out from under the counter.
"Thank you for lunch Sibyl it was lovely to talk to you properly"

I head out of the room in search of Selene , I don’t know what I wanted to find out but what I did learn was that her stubbornness isn't new , I chuckle to myself an head to her room hoping she is there .

As I walk past my room, I see the door is open a little I head towards it maybe Selene is looking for me too a little pang of excitement hits me. As I push the door open, I can hear the shower running so I shut the door behind me and take a seat on the sofa leaning back and closing my eyes taking in the scent of Selene that now fills my room.

I pulled from my thoughts when I feel her climb onto my lap her normal scent covered by the fresh mint body wash of mine, she has seemingly used, she trails kisses down my next making me groan. Then I hear the door open my head snaps to the door my eyes wide to see Selene stood in the doorway .Anger and pain filling her face her fist clenched while she tries to get control I look to the woman on my lap who was just in my shower and I’m faced with Revna .
I push her off me onto the floor her towel slipping off her body.
"REVNA WHAT THE FUCK ?!"

My eyes flit between the both not knowing what to do next then Selene speaks her voice angry and somehow calm all at once.

Revna looks towards her words escaping her mouth like poison "*Can we help you?*"

"*I can see I’ve interrupted whatever the hell this is I’m going to go* "

She turns around and walk out slamming the door behind her and I can feel my own internal rage on the brink of overflowing Vidar is ready to kill her for hurting our mate .
I take a deep breath trying so hard to contain my anger as I need to follow Selene.

"Revna, I’m not going to tell you this again there is nothing between us. If you overstep myself of your new Luna again, I will banish you from this pack" she goes to speak but my Alpha aura is keeping her from doing anything but bow her head.

"Get the fuck out of my room " she nods and heads towards her clothes walking slowly.

"I SAID GET THE FUCK OUT REVNA "

She rushes towards the door tears streaming down her face. As she leaves the only thoughts that fill my mind are of Selene and what the hell, I’m going to say to her before we head out just the two of us tonight.
