Some Sort Of Joke

**Selene's POV **

"Ash enough of this! Jackson is my mate " he’s sitting so close to me now when he first got here, he was actually apologizing and then he got all creepy again.

"No, he’s not Selene, if he was, he would never have left you to come out here alone. So just let me mark you and be done with it we already know your mine”.

Before I can even respond of think about the words, he just said his mouth is on mine, I manage to push him off and stand up as I do I feel his hand grab my arm his nails digging into my skin he yanks me back into him, his head in the crook of my neck I’m pushing him off, but he still has one of my arms in his claw the wetness from the blood dripping into the palm of my hand.

I’m really trying to fight him now if I don’t get him off me, he is going to mark me I shove him with my free hand using all of the power I can muster. In the next instant he has been torn away from me and I open my eyes and there is a tall man in a sharp suit stood in front of me his scent is totally intoxicating Ginger cookies and Honey and Ash across the garden staring at the two of us.

Then I hear the words from the Guy in front of me "MINE " with that Ash runs off into the forest. Mine? what does he mean mine I’m not his I don’t know who he is.

"Selene, he’s our mate, he’s our mate he saved us. The wolf from the water “. Then is clicks, he’s the wolf from the waterfall but whose is he. And Seleste seems to think we are mates I’m kind of excited to see his face I take my mask off ready for it.

Then he turns around. Shit shit shit shit shit.

Its Alpha Calder. My Mate is Alpha Calder I can feel my eyes widen and my breathing getting heavy he takes a step towards me and my breathing intensifies god I wish this dress wasn't so tight. I don’t know what to do so I just stand there.

Next thing I know he has grabbed hold of me and pulled me into his chest everything about this relaxes me and I can hear his heartbeat getting slower I’m almost suckered into this embrace until he says "Mate".

With that I snap right back to reality and pull away from him. He lets go but he looks hurt but honestly, I can’t help but think this is some sort of joke. Is he playing with me? because if so, I’m going to be so mad.

I can’t think of anything to say until Calder speaks first looking kind of shy and not has hard faced as I imagined.
"Selene, your bleeding " There is so much concern in his voice.

I lift my arm and see the puncture marks from Ash claw starting to heal the blood mostly dried now.

"Its fine, its mostly healed " I take a step back from him still observing him and his eyes are focused on me, I feel this bond between us, but the moon goddess must have got it wrong this time. Wait how does he know my name how he knows I’m me, we haven't met yet.

"How do you know my name? " I inquire still not really sure why I asked.

He answers me with a half-smile. “Well, we have not met officially, but I carried you back at your pack house when you passed out on the floor”.
Brilliant. I feel my face getting redder my skin getting hotter I can only muster one word. “OH “.

"You’re looking a lot better, glowing actually " he inches closer to me again and I don’t know what to do it’s like I’m frozen.
Then the soft voice of a she wolfs comes up behind me brushing past me to stand between Calder and me.

"Calder, there you are " She’s so close to him I can feel a hint of building up. She has her hand in his hair her cleavage pressed against his chest.
She whispers just loud enough for me to hear. “I thought maybe we could go somewhere a little private, I told you, you wouldn’t be able to resist me tonight."

The next move burns so hot in my chest she kisses him, I see him lift his hand up like he’s going to kiss her back and I panic, I don’t know what going on.

So, I turn towards the forest in the opposite direction of where Ash left, and I run.

I hear someone calling my name, but I don’t stop, these stupid shoes and dress hurting my feet as I go. In less than 15 minutes I found my mate and lost him. Was I a little shocked at who it was sure, I was not sure of anything, but this hurt? I can hear footsteps behind me. I pray to the Goddess above that he doesn’t catch my scent.

I keep running trying to shake off this feeling, I shouldn't care about him I hardly know him, but I do, and I wanted to tear that she wolfs apart.
Seleste is mad that we ran away she won’t shut up.

"Sel why did you run from our mate, take me back”.

"No Clearly he has someone the moon goddess must have gotten it wrong he’s not ours”.

"He is. now take me back "I feel her fighting for control, I wanted so badly to run in my wolf form, but I can’t let her take over she will turn us around.

I finally loose the footsteps behind me, so I stop there’s a small clearing between the trees, I sit and lean against the tree, thank god Arti has been making me work out.

I decide to try Seleste again she can’t still be mad.

"Seleste, are you there I know your mad and I’m sorry, but you saw him with her”.

"I’m Here Sel "

"I assume you’re still mad at me. "

"why couldn’t we have just waited until could ask him " She sounds heart broken,

"It’s not like they would have had much time to talk, I’m sorry we ran away”.
Silence. Great now I’m being ignored.

"Seleste, look we shouldn't be fighting it’s our birthday and the moon it out let’s do our bonding run now, I know Cynth and Arti wanted to be there but were here now”.

I await her response, but I know the words got her excited.
"Okay Selene, but I’m still mad at you ".

I just no I know she knows. Not wanting to ruin this dress any further I slip it and the rest of my clothes off hanging the dress on a tree. I begin to shift.

This feels different this time, I feel every movement and the feel of the moon on my skin is hot like the sun, the colours all seem brighter like I’m seeing them for the first time. The ground beneath me vibrating like I’m feeling the earth for the first time.

"Selene. Run" Seleste willing me to make this complete, I take off from the ground and I’m moving faster than I ever thought possible feeling the air whip through my fur.

I reach the water’s edge observing myself like I’m seeing me for the first time.
My dark fur has more of a shimmering green like it’s there all the time and not just in the light now my white ear glowing brighter than the freaking moon, I look bigger too my final size is as big as a female Alpha. My eyes are glowing the brightest green. Then I see it the mark my sisters told me I would get half-moon on my thigh.

I cannot get over this feeling I know what Seleste is feeling we are finally one.
I’m about to take off again when I hear the sound of twigs snapping behind me, I whip my head around and then I see them I panic wishing that would stay back and before I know it both wolves have been pushed backwards a shimmering field.

They stand back up and I brace myself ready to fight them and then I realise who these wolves are.
Artemis is stood staring at me her black wolf larger than I’ve ever seen her eyes glowing purple Cynthia stood right next to her pure white fur glowing in the moonlight.

I rush over to them and link them.

"What are you both doing here? "

Arti responds "We felt it Sel, we felt it when you shifted, and we needed to shift too we had to leave."

"You both felt it when I shifted? "

"Yes, Sel Arti and I knew we needed to get to you, we also saw Calder he was smashing up the garden saying he had lost someone and couldn't pick up the scent”.

"He really looked furious, also Sel what the hell was that force field thing you just did”.

"Yeah, I don’t know guys. But I do know about Calder thing maybe we should find out clothes and shift back”.

"Selene, what are you not telling us your heart is beating so fast are you okay”.

It’s so like Cynth to be concerned I don’t really know what to say but it just spills out like vomit.

"Alpha Calder is my mate. well, I think he is then there was this girl. Then I panicked. Then I ran and shifted. Next the weird thing with the powers, my wolf is also bigger come to think of it so are yours and now here we are”.

They both simultaneously link me.

"WE SHOULD SHIFT BACK"
