Why?

We Head back to the house I find the tree where I left my dress and shift putting it back on and heading towards the doors, its late now lots of our pack have gone home.

Ryan is stood at the top of the stairs with two piles of clothes for Arti and Cynth and I’m wishing I would have waited and gotten clothes that weren't these. One the girls are changed we stand outside it turns out Ryan new about us all along so Arti was fine for him to be there.
We Still at the silver moon pack but Ryan let us know that Calder with Eric as they finally decided to sit down and talk about the problems we have at the borders. The back doors open and Calder’s beta Sigi walks out he stops and stares at Cynth it gets a little uncomfortable until he speaks.

"Calder said you could use the garden area "He awkwardly holds out his hands and ushers us to awkwardly follow him to an area around the side of the house it has these big comfy looking garden chairs and huge fire pit. We all take a seat and Sigi awkwardly stands to the side, Cynthia then gets up and says something to him and then much to my surprise he takes a seat next to her scooting his chair to be as close to her as possible. Ryan starts to talk to him, so I take my chance to link my sisters.

"Guys why is Sigi sitting with us? isn’t he going to know " I see Cynth roll her eyes a little and shift uncomfortably.

" Well, Sel you’re not the only one who found a mate here tonight " My mind was blown for a second.

"What do you mean Cynth you have a mate Kari " I’m now a little confused.

"It seems as though the goddess has gifted me another, but I don’t know how I feel about it yet so let’s focus on you”.

"Woah hold up we are not going to not talk about this he needs to know if he’s your mate”.
Arti snaps in a little temper in her voice.

"Enough Sel, Cynth has this under control " With that she shuts the entire link.
Lord she is moody, this is going to be an interesting conversation.

I sit still uncomfortable and Arti begins to ask me a ton of questions about my run, about my shift and about Calder. They are all staring at me intently Ryan clenching his fists when we get to the part with Ash, he is like an older brother to me so he’s not happy, but Arti's eyes haven’t stopped glowing purple since I mentioned it.

And now here we are 2.5 hours later, Arti has agreed we need to test all of our powers out firstly to see what all of mine are and secondly to see if they have developed anymore. Ryan has agreed to train me privately from now. Sigi is in full shock mode and has no idea what’s going on as Cynth also partially explained all about her situation, so they have a lot to think about. And I’m still in this dress uncomfortable.

The conversation between the 4 of them suddenly becomes more relaxed and I seize my opportunity to leave and find something else to wear, Sigi said I should go inside and find one of the omegas from their pack and they will give me some clothes. Carrying my shoes, I head inside.

I’m wandering around on the ground floor looking for anyone to fine me something to change in to. I get a little fed up, down the hall I spot a seat, so I usher my tired body towards it and take a seat, throwing my shoes on the floor next to me and placing my head in my hands.

What has my life become such a mess in such a short amount of time I thought when I turned 21 it would be this amazing day, id celebrate with my pack do my run bond with Seleste, find my mate then become the most amazing warrior. Instead, I ran away from my mate, my dress is a mess, I have freaking superpowers.

This situation is less than ideal. I stay like that for what felt like 20 minutes until I am interrupted and pulled from my own misery by someone coughing to get my attention.

"Here. Sigurd said you were looking for something to change into. You can change this way”.

I don’t even have a chance to respond before he’s walking away from me, I grab my shoes and do a little run to keep up. We head up 2 flights of stairs and then we reach a smaller corridor more private I follow him down until we reach the furthest door away. He opens the door and steps in, I’m not sure what to do so I follow. He walks over to the closet and I can’t help but watch him, the way he moves his shirt just that little bit too tight, you can tell he was an Alpha he was 6'4 or so and looked like he hasn’t missed a day of training in his life.

I’m pulled back to reality when I realise, he’s not stood in front of me staring intently holding out some clothes. I take the clothes from his hand and his skin brushes on mine again instantly it’s like my whole body is on fire and the only thing that could calm me down is him my heart it is beating so fast and my chest getting tight. Internally I’m willing myself to look away begging myself to move or to run or to just do something.
Calder stares at me a slight change in his face and it finally I pull myself away and walk swiftly into the bathroom and lock the door. Leaning my Back against it once it clicks.

**Calder's POV**

I had just spent 10 minutes watching her wander my house taking everything in thinking about when she becomes my Luna that’s when Sigi linked me to say she had gone to find clothes it was my opportunity to speak to her finally accept me but all when I faced her, I could only come up with the line about clothes and to follow me to the room.

When I touched her, my whole body came alive I was fixated on her eyes I wanted to take her there and then to make her mine. I watched her intently waiting to see what she would do hearing her heartbeat get faster and then her eye changed the beautiful emerald green with small gold flecks started glowing. I feel my face feel with confusion and more lust who was she and then just like that for the second time today she pulled herself away and ran from me.

Why was this happening I always wanted a mate, Vidar longs for her but she doesn't seem to want us and Revna fucked it up even more by throwing herself at me.

I don’t need this right now I’m the strongest Alpha around I don’t need the small enchantingly beautiful she wolfs messing that up for me I have a pack to protect. I feel myself getting angrier I go towards the door of the bathroom about to tear it down. But I can’t bring myself to do it, so I storm out of the room leaving her to get changed not really knowing where to go seeing as the room she is in, is mine.

I head into my office; this night couldn’t get any worse. Pouring myself a drink I undo my shirt and take a seat close my eye and take a deep breath. I’m almost calm when Fin bursts into my room breathing heavily.

"Alpha! The Pearl moon were ambushed when they got back on their territory there were 200 or more rogues waiting for them. They had slaughtered all the children and women and the few warriors left on the pack grounds while they were here."
I’m seething feeling the rage boiling inside me I try to stay calm to speak to Fin.

"Fin, where is alpha Eric now”.

Fins face seems to twist up before he speaks "Alpha Eric is dead. They slaughtered his children, and he flew into a fit of rage he got so distracted fighting that he left Luna Georgie and well she couldn’t shift, and a rogue snapped her neck in front of him leaving him vulnerable and an un-shifted wolf pierced his heart with a silver blade”.

Vidar is raging inside of me. Trying to control it I use my Alpha voice and direct Fin to go the pearl moon, bring anyone who is alive here and respectfully dispose of their dead. He nods and leaves the room, as he shuts the door, I flip my desk. After a few moments I head out of the room and outside to meet with Sigi, I see the injured wolves filtering in.

Its clear Sigi already knows what’s going on he told me that Beta Ryan and Artemis left as soon as they got the call to help and were now assisting with the clean up to get the injured and those that remain here to safety.

I’m at a loss, who would slaughter an entire pack.
