Hazed Realities

**Selene's POV**

I can feel the sun on my face the tingling feeling of fingers crazing up and down my arm this is truly bliss, a soft moan escapes my lips and the inexplicable comfort I feel in this moment.

"*Selene, wake up* “soft lips brush along my shoulder and onto my neck.
"*Its 12.30 and your sisters are looking for you* "

My eyes snap open and the memory of last night floods my mind feelings of elation and heat. I roll over to face Calder, wanting to take all of him in his piercing blue eyes in mine making me blush a little at the intensity.

"Good Morning " As I finish the words his soft lips find mine, a morning routine I could get used to.

"*I’ve had some of your clothes bought up here for you* " He motions towards the chair and there is a small pile of clothes there.

"Thank you " I push myself of up using my arm and sharp pain shoots across the top of my shoulder wincing in pain.
Concern flashes across Calder's face.

"*Im sorry about that being marked by and Alpha takes a little longer to heal than a normal bite*"

The words marked by an alpha flash through my mind over and over. He’s right we mated I lift my hand to the mark, and I can feel the dried blood covering the area, the reality of the situation sets in, I’m mated to an Alpha.

"*Selene are you okay you zoned out for a second* "

"Err. yes, I am fine would it be okay to use your shower. "

"*Selene, you don’t have to ask what’s mine is yours now, while you’re in there i'll have someone bring us some food* "

I nod wrapping the sheet around me, grabbing the clothes and head to the bathroom, it’s really tidy in here not that I expected it not to be well I don’t know what I expected. I know I didn't expect to mate with him last night and to wake up to him telling me what’s his is now mine.

Do I even want that ?What happens now? , I finish the shower letting the hot water pour over me , I hope Calder does not mind that I’ve used his toiletries , I now know why his hair always looks so soft he has the most luxurious shampoo I’ve ever used .

Once I’m out of the shower I decide I should get changed in the bathroom feeling suddenly self-conscious that Calder might see me naked again , I don’t know who grabbed these clothes but they picked a good outfit a black pair of high waisted skinny jeans and a black comfy jumper.

I pull the towel off my head and start to brush my fingers through it seeing as I don’t have an actual hair brush and that is when I notice the white blond streak in my hair has gotten bigger its now double the size overnight I note not how strange that is but quickly tie all my hair into a messy bun as Calder knocks on the door to let me know food is here .

I leave the bathroom to see a small table with 2 chairs has been set up in his room just Infront of the fire place, and it is covered in all my favourite breakfast food I feel a smile spread across my face , food really brings me so much joy . Calder is already sat dressed and waiting for me.

"Sorry I took so long in the shower "

"*Its fine while I was waiting for them to bring the food I went to the and took a shower in the bathroom in my office* "

"Oh god I’m sorry I should have gone back to my own room to shower "
He reaches across the table and takes me hand.

"*Sel, stop apologizing like I said what’s mine is now yours. Also, I wasn't sure what you'd want for breakfast, so I had them make a bunch of stuff but Sibyl from your kitchen said French toast is your favourite* "

He motions towards a plate at the end of the table and the beauty that is my favourite dish stares right back at me.

"*Selene, your eyes are glowing *"

I blink them away."Sorry my gifts are linked to my emotions sometimes I can’t control it but that is what I’m learning with the girls, I guess that I am just really happy "
After half an hour and very full stomach we sit in comfortable silence with one another , while I observe the surroundings, His room is large and open he has a massive balcony but the furniture in the room is minimal and all a dark wood its cosy but not homely .
Calder breaks the silence between us.

"*I’ve been meaning to ask, what was it that you called me up to the library for?*"

As soon as he has finished speaking, I internally kick myself. The book! I push away from the table grabbing his hand.
"Calder we need to go I need to show you " I rush towards the door and down the corridor and as I do I feel the eyes of a few of the people stood around on me I look at them and they lower their heads . Weird they have never done that before.

I run up the stairs to the library pushing the doors to the library open and heading to the balcony where I left the book last night.
A few moments later Calder catches up to me.

"Well that wasn’t exactly how I wanted the pack to meet their new Luna, running through the house like she is running away from me " He laughs at the though and pulls me closer the book still firmly in my hand.

"That’s why they were looking at me when I ran past them "
I hesitate then I say the next words, the thought of being Luna to a pack didn’t even cross my mind.
"It’s why they bowed their heads right? "

I can feel his eyes on my as I drop my head to look at our feet.

"*Yes, you’re their new Luna, they can’t help it. Now we are mated our scents are combined so they don’t even need to see the mark to know you belong to me* "

I get a little frustrated at those words and pull away from him.

"Calder ... i belong to no one, if we are in this, we are in it together "

He frowns a little, but I can see he accepts.
"*Whatever you say Luna* " He pulls his hand to his head and salutes me.

"*So, what are you gripping so tight in your hand? is that what you wanted to show me* "

I lift the book up and pull him back out to the balcony ushering him to take a seat opposite me and I begin to explain.
As I do, he pulls a few faces looking at me like I’m nuts when I get to the part about the glowing symbols and then even more so when I tell him the voices were coming out of the book. If he sticks around me after this, I will really know he’s the one for me moon goddess or not because as I’m saying this out loud, I also sound like a crazy person.

When I’m done, I take a deep breath.
"So, what I’m getting at here is that I think I need to go home to my parents’ house tonight"
He doesn’t look thrilled by the idea.

"*Sel I told you we would go tomorrow night we still haven’t finished checking the area and we don’t even know if your old pack is safe to go to its too dangerous* "

"Calder, I understand what you are saying but I am going to do this tonight with or without you, I need to work this out and I am running out of time. Arlo hasn’t attacked us since he attacked my pack that was nearly a month ago. He is going to come for us again and I want to be ready when he does "

I’m defiant in my words I’m not going to budge from this because my existence depends on it , my family depends on this and I’ve spent the morning getting caught up in this hazed reality of it only being about myself and Calder and forgetting that this is a war of survival.

He grits his teeth his whole body tensing I can tell that he is not used to people standing up to him.
"*Fine. Selene but you must stick with me if I say leave, we leave. We go tonight and we tell only what exactly we are looking for* "

His knuckles are white where he is clenching his fists so hard, not wanting to agitate him more I move to sit next to him turning his face to mine and place a soft kiss on his lips leaning my forehead against his.

"Thank you "
He pulls me onto his lap so I’m facing him.

"*Selene, there’s on other thing I wanted to talk to you about, now that we are mated, I need you to meet my parents* "

His parents.
I forgot Calder has parents, and now I must meet them. I nod and smile in agreement but the thought of this might be scarier than Arlo.

"*Sel, I can tell that your nervous, but they are going to love you! and when this is all over, we will have a proper Luna ceremony* "

With that he stands up placing me on the floor.

"*We should head out, Sigi has just linked me your about 6 hours late meeting your sisters and they are not happy apparently they have been trying to link you but its closed *"

Ahh yes, my sisters, Arti is going to be so mad I missed training today.
