The Plan

**Selene's POV**

As soon as they left the room Calder wrapped his arms around me to comfort me as the tears began flowing freely once more. I am shocked at the lengths she was willing to go too to help someone we did not know but then at the same time that’s her all over always putting others before herself.

I’m glad that after it was settled Calder added the stipulation that we have to see what their plan is so we can follow them if anything happens they both hesitated to state they didn’t have much of a plan but they would clue us in so we are all to meet again for a private dinner to discuss.

I stay in Calder’s arms for what feels like a lifetime several people knock on the door, but I can hear them being ushered into Sigi office instead, at least for the time being. Deciding not to take up any more of his time I pull away from him, he keeps a firm grip around my waist and searches my face to make sure I’m okay before letting go.

As soon as he does I lean in and place a soft kiss on his mark, he lets out an involuntary moan.

*"You know if you want to play that game I can do it too"*

He goes to grab me once more, but I stand up away from the sofa.

"Not playing a game just appreciating what’s mine "

He smiles and stands up too as we walk back to his desk.

*"Selene I know this is going to be really hard for you, but you know they will be okay, don’t you? They are capable people and one has powers Artemis will be back before you know it "*

"I was thinking maybe we should throw them a goodbye party "

His forehead creases at my suggestion.

*"Actually Sel, I don’t think that is a good idea. I mean if Sekreta does have powers and word gets out that Arti is gone to find her it might put them both in danger, I’m not saying anyone in our pack would betray us but I’m also not willing to put them at risk. We should just say goodbye like they are going on vacation" *

He is right I know he is, but I wanted her to have the best send-off possible even though she swears she will be back in time for the baby being born.

"Your right as always, I just want to remind her what’s she has to come home too. "

*"Artemis doesn’t need reminding Sel she already knows what she has "*

"I know I’m being silly, maybe I’ll plan something with just the three of us "

*"She will love that. But right now, beautiful mate of mine I have a lot of work to catch up on I’ve been somewhat neglecting it since I found you "*

He pauses for a second looking me up and down.

*"Unless you want to ..."*

"Calder get your mind out of the gutter and go back to work "

I roll my eyes and head the door giving him one last glance before I leave.

"Just make sure you get your work done quickly, I have big plans for us after the dinner "

I bite my bottom lip slightly as I leave knowing it will drive him insane, I quickly leave shutting the door behind me to the sounds of no Selene wait and then a crash were he for sure fell over.

I giggle to myself and head down to the kitchen, all of the sadness has made me hungry. As I walk through the house I’m greeted by some pack members all of whom smile and nod but then mutter to themselves as they pass I catch myself in a mirror halfway down the stairs and that’s when I realise I have panda eyes from all the crying and Calder let me leave his office like that.

I link him calling him a dick and he just laughs and replies that he told me two could play that game.
Ducking into the nearest bathroom I wet my face and wipe the dried mascara off with my sleeve, really I should go and get changed but I as soon as I think on it my stomach growls and I opt to give in to food instead.

I get to the kitchen and see Sibyl she’s cooking away getting ready for people to start filling in for dinner soon. We have a pleasant conversation and she tells me that she’s now the head cook as the silver moon pack usual lady retired stating that she could handle it alone.
She has such joy and contentment on her face that I wonder it would be like to have something so simple and it is your everything.

The omegas are in the kitchen and rushing around her as we sip our tea and I finish of the second slice of cake she plated up for me she tries to give me another, but I have to stop her, or I might explode.

A short while later she goes back to cooking and I finish my tea and head back inside to get a shower before the dinner tonight, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t emotionally exhausted.

**Calder's POV**

The events of the last few days have like always been a blur, since the day I met Selene my life has been a bit of a blur and all for the better. I’m waiting for her to get changed so we can hear Arti and Ryan's plan for finding Sekreta, I suppose I’m most curious as to how they plan on convincing her to come back with them it sounds like she’s known nothing but pain and isn’t likely to trust anyone.

As soon as she is ready we head down into the main hall passing the head table making our way to the wall behind.

*"Calder where are we going there’s only a wall there ?"*

"Selene, some houses have secrets I just haven’t shown you all of ours yet "

I push the wall and second, later a second disappears into the rest of the wall leaving a doorway.

"We use this room for meetings when we really don’t want to be overheard or for when we have to hide the Alpha children"
Once inside the others are already seated waiting for us.

The food has already been bought in and everyone seems ready to listen to Arti and Ryan, while this room is normally used for much more elegant affairs it was nice to be in here with no pretences of fancy clothes or food it was the perfect relaxed atmosphere.

We all tuck into the food making conversation the topic of baby names comes up again and Sigi throws some out their names into the mix much to the dismay of Cynthia who shoots him a disapproving look with each suggestion.

Cynthia laughs it off but then her face gets serious.

*"All joking aside, I just want our baby to be happy and healthy"*
She then turns to face Arti and Ryan.

*"And I want the first people they meet to be my sisters so you have no choice but to come back before I give birth, I may not be Luna, but I am binding you to that"*

She waits for them to nod before her face returns to its relaxed state.

After we have finished eating Ryan pulls out some papers while Arti spreads a large map on the table covered in drawings and crosses.
They dive into explaining all the places they have already been and what they found then they get to the unchartered territories, it was said that long ago a strong Alpha family lived there but once they died out the life in the lands also left now its dominated by rogues and undesirables.

*"My gut feeling is telling me that she is hiding in the band lands somewhere I don’t know why but it just does, I know when I get there I’m going to find her I’m sure of it "*

"Arti, I have to ask for my own sanity. What is making you so determined to find her I know you said it was your father, but I can’t help but feel like it’s more than that "

She looks at me and then to Ryan and then the others.

*"Well I’m pretty sure I’ve been dreaming about her "*

The air in the room still's only the sound of breathing is the only noise.

"Arti what do you mean you have been dreaming about her since when "

*"Since a few days before the battle with Arlo, It woke me up one evening I felt as weird presents like someone one was here and then when I drifted off to sleep I saw her face I didn’t realise it at the time but I’m now sure it was her "*

I turn to Selene but she’s already looking at me, I can tell she is thinking about the night in the library.

*"At first I thought it was mum I was dreaming of thinking maybe all the stuff happening was reminding me of her. But then when dad told us it just clicked and then the more I thought about her the more I started to dream of her and what she was doing. I don’t know if it’s my brain making it all up, but I have to at least try to find out and this will be how"*

We all nod in agreement but the room remains silent, She then carries on telling us the plan and lets us know that they plan to leave in one day they have some things to prepare beforehand but the sooner they go the sooner they can come back.

At this news Sel and Cynth start crying, both of them hoping they would have a little more time with her before she ventured into the unknown. She moves to comfort them when I turn to Ryan.

"Ryan, whatever you need you can take with you. But I have to ask now my Beta are you sure about this "

*"Honestly no, but Artemis is and that enough for me. Selene told me once then when Cynthia met the moon goddess told her that Destiny is not a matter of chance it’s a matter of choice when I ask Arti if she is sure she told me she had made her choice. I stand by that Calder and I’ll go with her to protect her all the way, but she needs this I feel it in the connection between us, if she doesn’t do this she will be restless for the rest of her life "*

I smile at him, he isn’t afraid to show how much he cares for her he has never tried to hide it no matter who is around for that I admire him he would follow her to the end of the earth.

I look towards Selene no longer crying but still embracing her sisters as I watch her move, her chest rising and falling I know that I feel exactly the same for her. I would do whatever she asked of me if it made her smile the way she is now.

After a while normal conversation resumes, the shock of Arti leaving so soon dying down and the room getting back its relaxed feel.

The three girls eventually fall asleep each of whom beforehand was being so stubborn trying to fight their closing eyelids.
One by one we scoop them into our arms to carry them to bed.

When we reach the bedroom doors we turn to one another to say good night.
Sigi exhales while watching Cynthia intently.

*"I finally know what it’s like to hold the whole world in my hands, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful "*

I’m not sure if he meant to say it out loud but he speaks the truth as we finally all enter our rooms holding our mates close to us.
