Self-Control

We were late.

In fact we were three hours late Artemis and Sigi were not happy and they both let me know, Calder had to leave about an hour in apparently he had some meeting with and young Alpha whose father was friend of his own Father he just said it was a normal meet and greet so I thought nothing more of it.

I was more focused on the intense pain I was feeling Because I was late I became a she wolf sized punching bag Arti wanted to test how well she can project her fighting skills on me she hoping I can just learn it instead of having her project it on me it did not work I few times she dropped the projection and I face planted the floor.

This continues until around 7 pm and by this point I really am starving , everyone begins to leave the field and head over to Arti and Cynth I need to tell them about the Luna ceremony and I want to talk to them about how I feel about Calder I need to know that I’m not crazy with how confused I am .
Both of them look a little tense and as I get closer, I can feel their anxieties and they are talking between one another .

"Okay what’s up with both of you ?"

"*Well Arti and I were just talking about all this. It’s been a lot to take in all at once we haven't stopped since your birthday and we both just want a small dose of normality* "

It strikes me in that moment that it has been just as intense for them as it has for me Artemis is the pack Luna now and there has been no ceremony for her, Cynthia has become the main healer for this pack too and she’s dealing with twice as many people as well as a brand new second chance mate. They are both right we need some normality just a little bit .

"How about tonight ?"
They both look at me confused, then I realize I didn’t actually tell them what we should do tonight.

"I mean what about we have a normal night tonight we can get a pizza some snacks and just hand out and talk I feel like we need to catch up on each other’s lives "
They both smile and I know they need this as much as I do .

"*Selene, I think I speak for Arti and myself when I say that would be an amazing idea* "

We finish packing away all the training stuff laughing between us about some of the old times when our father would try to teach us to fight.
Once were done we head back into the house via the kitchen and ask Sibyl to make us some pizza , she doesn't even have to ask our favourite having been head chef for our pizza parties for most of our lives we let her know we will collect in 30 minutes after we have showered .

We head up to our rooms deciding where to meet on the way , we opted for one of the many garden seating areas. Once I’m dressed opting for a pair of comfy black shorts and a pull over hoodie, head to Calder's office and let him know I’ll be eating with them tonight, but I do want to talk to him later on .

When I get outside his door I’m about to knock but he calls for me to come in do but the air in the room seems harsh, Calder motions me to the sofas in to the left of his desk and I catch a small glance of the Alpha from the other pack she simply nods in my direction not saying a word.

After a few minutes Calder leads that Alpha to the door and says goodbye he then sits down on the sofa opposite me loosening the buttons on his shirt and running a hand through his hair followed by a deep exhale as he leans back into the seat .

Moments he eyes focus on mine those blue jets of light fixated on me and I can feel the heat pooling between my legs I don’t know exactly what made him so tense talking to her but I know how he is planning on releasing that stress and I just might let him .

I so desperately want to give into him to help him relax to see him clench his jaw muscles a I places kisses on him , to feel his hands on my body the heat between us when we are close, I want him in my mouth taking control of him forcing him to relax at the feel of me.
Pulling my eyes away from him and sucking in a breath .

"Calder I ..."

His mouth twitches into a half smile and I know he can smell my arousal and I want to say Calder I want you to rib my clothes of my and take me on your desk but I instead opt for the other truth..

"Calder I’m having a girl’s night with my sisters, so I won’t be in your room tonight "
I bow my head hoping he won’t grab me towards him he lets out a small grunt.

"*I suppose I can give you up for one night but please come back to my room tonight don’t make me come and find you* "

Lust dipping from every word making me question if i want to stay ,I stand up and nod eager to get out of the room before I act on my own impulse or for him to act on his .

I head out of the room and down the stairs stopping through the kitchen to grab the pizzas and a whole heap of snacks , as I’m trying to carry it all another pair of hands scoops up the falling bag of crisps and pats me on the head .

"*Selene you never were good at managing your self-control when it came to snacks* "

A familiar scent surrounds me, and I turn on my food trying hard not to drop anymore food .
"Dom , it has been a while!"

He smiles softly . "*So, you’re talking to me now then *"

"I was never not talking to you Dom everything that happened was a lot "

He takes some of more of the snacks of the top of my pile and ushers towards the door I’m happy to let him help me that way I can take more.

"*A lot more seems to have happened since then LUNA SELENE* " Placing so much emphasis on the Luna part it makes me cringe and then he chuckles at his own joke .

There is the Dom I knew, we chat a little more as I head towards the clearing he told me that he and Liv are expecting and to my own surprise I am genuinely happy for them I have seen them around the house always trying to avoid them but they are very sweet .

He asks me a few more questions about Calder and my sisters he seems intrigued by what we can do, and I tell him being careful only to tell him any information other that what we have shared .

When we get to the clearing he sits for moment until and Cynth arrive greeting them with small talk before heading off .
The three of us sit and eat the pizza reminiscing on our childhood back at home and how there was a time when we hated one another and would fight constantly all of that changed when out parents died and suddenly, we relied on one another for everything.

I explain to them about the struggles I’m having with Calder ,Arti lets me know she had the same sort of problems with Ryan he was the bad boy beta and she was a parent less part time mum to two people who weren't that different in age she had no idea if he was legit but she decided to stick with it.
Ultimately it was her wolf Aria that convinced her she knew the feeling was strong and that the connection was real she told her to ask her questions but to give in she would never feel complete without Ryan so why try to pull away .

I take all her advice and decide that is what I’ll do I’ll ask Calder all my questions, but I know inside he’s already mine and will be forever .
We talk more between us about the future I tell them about the Luna ceremony, and we ask Artemis what she would like when she eventually gets back to the pack house.

She doesn’t say much about, but we can feel her sadness as she talks about taking over from Georgie the two of them were close friends .
After more food and more reminiscing a comfortable and familiar silence envelops us, we all get comfortable in the big squashy chairs Cynth wrapping herself in a blanket as a breeze begins to whip through the grounds .

Breaking the silence Artemis reaches into her pocket and pulls out some small pieces of paper I instantly know it’s the stuff from the box none of us can bring ourselves to look at it knowing it was written in the hand of those that loved us the most in the world .

"*I was thinking maybe* " She hesitates like she’s not even sure of what she is saying .

"*Maybe tonight we could read these* ?"

She looks between us her eyes holding hope and sadness all in one a small half smile on her face . Cynthia takes one of the letters from Arti and hold it her hands running her fingers across the handwriting as small tear escapes her eye .

"*Arti , I think that’s a great idea what about you Sel* "

I want to see what is inside as much as they do but I’m also just as nervous about it,sucking it all up and face these things head on .
