Chapter 34 Powerful Medicine
The aphrodisiac and kidney tonic actually have such quick effects!
I pressed my hand against Charlie's chest, feeling a chaotic mess in my mind.
"Charlie, why don't you take a cold shower?" I remained unusually calm. Although I had desired Charlie's body for many years, knowing that we would soon be divorced made me feel that it was unnecessary to engage in this physical entanglement.
Charlie's arms were like two shackles, imprisoning me on either side of my shoulders. Even in this deadly angle, his perfect appearance remained intact.
He still had a bit of rationality left, and his eyes showed a momentary irritation. "I already took one. Is there any other solution? Keep talking."
"Should I find you a sleeping partner?" I blurted out.
"It's probably too late for that," Charlie said, and in an instant, he transformed into a beast of desire. I couldn't resist. My arms were like two matchsticks, easy to break, and I dared not resist with force.
For Charlie, the effect of the medication had taken over, and he only wanted to release it as soon as possible. It was evident that foreplay was not within his scope of consideration.
When he was about to break through the city gate, he suddenly stopped, furrowing his brows tightly and showing deep astonishment in his eyes.
"Is this your first time?" Charlie seemed surprised.
I didn't have the experience of love now, only pain. My temper flared up. "Can we stop talking about making love? Just leave!"
Charlie's brows relaxed, and he suddenly leaned down to gently kiss my lips, as if lightly touching the water's surface. There was even a hint of happiness in his eyes. "Let's do it."
It's said that men have a virgin complex. Even if he doesn't love you, he would still feel a great sense of accomplishment upon taking a woman's virginity, developing an inexplicable psychological attachment- it means she belongs to him.
I believed that Charlie was one of those people. While flipping me over, he even grumbled discontentedly, "I thought you really betrayed me."
"You don't care about your own dignity, but I care about mine," I retorted.
"Do you even know whether those rumors about me are true or false?" Charlie smirked.
Of course, I know it's just dinner, watching a movie, going to a bar, or staying at a hotel, but even that's not acceptable.
I still feel jealous and intend to teach those gossiping bitches a lesson.
Charlie and I have been married for five years, yet we have never had dinner together, watched a movie, gone to a bar, or stayed in a hotel. How can they do it?
He finally finished, and I could see sweat rolling off his muscular body, glistening like tiny pearls. The scent of hormones was in the air, explosive and intoxicating.
After a good night's sleep, he started to explain the past rumors to me. I was astonished by the power of physical desire.
Charlie has always been physically fit, and with that miraculous soup, he spent the night without sleeping. Naturally, I stayed up as well.
When the first light of dawn appeared outside the window, I was already so exhausted that I couldn't keep my eyes open.
Charlie pinched my arm and then my thigh, a little dissatisfied. "You're too skinny, you're poking me."
I turned over and ignored him, focusing on sleep.
I slept until four in the afternoon, and my mind was completely blank. When I woke up, my whole body was sore. The sticky feeling urged me to rush into the bathroom.
It was only after showering that I realized Charlie was no longer in the room. When did he leave?
"It's good that he's gone. After being married for five years and only sharing a room now, it would be awkward when we meet," I said to myself.
"Madam, you're awake?" Elizabeth had prepared the meal and saw me coming downstairs with a deep smile. "Did you sleep well last night? Mr. Bennett went to the office this afternoon and asked me not to disturb you."
Dragging my slightly weak legs, I sat down in the dining room and replied, "I slept well, Elizabeth. That medicine from your relative... it's quite effective."
I just don't know what Elizabeth will think in the future. She helped her future son-in-law by providing him with a vitality-enhancing medicine, leading to a night of passion with his wife.
Just thinking about it makes me nauseous.
Now it'll be even harder for Charlie to pursue Lauren. Elizabeth has witnessed so much between us. Her opposition will definitely be stronger.
"Madam, men are like this. As long as you can satisfy him in bed, he'll be devoted to you." Elizabeth unexpectedly brought up this topic.
"That's true, but Charlie isn't the type of man who can be satisfied easily. Maybe if he finds another woman who can satisfy him fully, he'll willingly stay by her side," I said as I continued eating.
"Madam, please don't say that. No matter who he finds, you should have confidence. Ordinary women can't compare to Mr. Bennett. You and him are the most compatible couple," Elizabeth hurriedly comforted me.
I looked at her again and thought, "Your daughter will be that extraordinary woman."
After finishing the meal, I went upstairs to play the cello and lost myself in the music. However, my immersive cello session was interrupted by a phone call.
It was Dylan calling, and I was a bit perplexed. "Dylan?"
"I'm at Roof Club, come right away." Dylan's words were brief and blunt.
"What's going on?" I was confused.
The Roof Club is a high-end wellness club in New York that requires a capital check to join. If I remember correctly, Charlie is also one of the major shareholders in the Roof Club and often takes people there for relaxation during business occasions.
Dylan, Clint, and Michael are regular patrons of the Roof Club, so it's normal for them to be there. The problem is, I have never been there before, so it's strange that they suddenly asked me to come.
Dylan hung up the phone without explaining, just like Charlie. They both have the same irritating style! But Dylan wouldn't easily make plans with me unless it's something important, so I quickly changed and set off.
Half an hour later, I was led into a room with several people. I immediately noticed Jane, who looked fierce with her hands on her hips, as if she were a gamecock ready for a fight. Across from her, Clint was trembling behind Michael.
Dylan pointed at Jane and said, "Your friend has hit someone. Take her away."
I was very confused at this point and asked, "What's going on?"
"Hey, you little bastard, play that voice message again!" Jane pointed at Clint and gave a fierce order.
Clint is a pitiful guy, the youngest son of his family. He grew up in a protected environment and has never seen the harsh realities of the world. Now, he was trembling under Jane's intimidation and spoke in a low voice, "I won't let go..."
Jane was about to charge at him, so I quickly grabbed her. "Don't be impulsive! What exactly happened?"
Jane took a deep breath and calmed herself down before she explained the situation. It turned out that she came to the Roof Club for a skincare spa treatment and unexpectedly encountered Clint. At that time, Clint was sending a voice message to Charlie, instructing him in how to pursue young girls.
"Charlie didn't come?" My attention shifted.
"He was busy, so he didn't come," Michael replied. Then he turned around and sympathetically said to Clint, "Why don't you kneel down and apologize to her? I'm afraid of getting beaten too."
