Chapter 48 Ectopic Pregnancy

Now we need to find a way to expose Arthur's true nature. The longer we delay, the worse it'll become.

"Let's be straightforward. Although we'll be devastated at the time, it's still better than being deceived further." Jane, always bold in her actions, was no different in this matter.

Even if it means losing the bond between sisters, she would definitely do it.

After thinking for a while, it seemed like this was the best option. Tina and I exchanged glances, silently agreeing.

We discussed Yolanda's situation for a long time until Jane and Tina left in the middle of the night. Because I had slept too much in the afternoon, I was surprisingly energetic at night, so I decided to watch a movie.

While watching the movie, I remembered the phone call Lauren made to Charlie today. I instinctively opened my phone and entered Jason's Twitter account.

Although I am somewhat friends with Lauren, I don't have her contact information, only Jason's. I get updates about their situation through Jason's Twitter feed because he loves to share their relationship with the world.

The background picture on Jason's Twitter account changed from a photo of him and Lauren to a portrait of a basketball star, with an additional line of text: "It's my fault."

I noticed that he hadn't updated his feed in quite a few days.

I couldn't help but sigh. The innocent campus love had finally crumbled under the oppression of the greedy capitalists.

I sent a message to Jason: Jason, are you asleep?

It took Jason a while to reply: No.

I asked again: Are you and Lauren okay? How's everything going?

Has Twitter changed his background photos?

Jason replied quickly this time: Mrs. Harrison, we broke up.

This is not much different from the previous life. Even with my involvement, I couldn't stop Jason and Lauren from breaking up. Sure enough, the progress of love between the male and female lead is not something cannon fodders can influence.

Could it be that today Lauren is likely seeking comfort from Charlie? Or is it about the relocation in her residential area? I can't think of any other reasons.

I started comforting Jason and casually invited him to have a meal when he has time these couple of days.

Jason agreed, then told me he needed to sleep.

I replied: Goodnight.

Jason: Goodnight, Mrs. Harrison.

From that night on, Charlie didn't come home for a whole week. I didn't ask or think too much about it, and instead, focused on dealing with Yolanda's situation with Jane and Tina.

We were afraid that Yolanda would be shaken if she found out the truth, especially since Arthur had always been good to her.

Their emotional foundation was deep, and if Arthur admitted his mistake and begged for forgiveness, there was no guarantee that she wouldn't soften her heart.

Therefore, Jane came up with a reason and tricked Yolanda into coming to her house, and of course, I and Tina were there as well.

"What are you all doing?" Yolanda asked, puzzled, as she saw the three of us with serious expressions surrounding her.

"Yolanda, have you ever heard the phrase 'there are plenty of fish in the sea’?" Jane spoke up.

Yolanda was extremely confused. "I have, but does that phrase have any special meaning?"

I spoke, "Yes, Yolanda. The three of us are your best friends, we are like sisters, and we want you to believe in us. No matter what happens, we will be your support!"

Tina nodded, "Yes, we will never harm you!"

Yolanda's expression changed, seeming to sense that something bad was about to happen. But then she put on a calm smile and said, "What are you all talking about! Of course, I know you would never harm me. In my heart, you are my true sisters."

Jane and I exchanged a glance, took out our phones, and played a video in front of Yolanda.

Yolanda stared intently, and soon her face turned pale.

"Yolanda..." I couldn't bear it in my heart. The truth was truly too ugly, and the dream of a happy marriage she had cherished was destined to be shattered in this very moment.

Yolanda suddenly stood up, opened her mouth to say something, but then fainted.

Jane quickly held her. "Yolanda!"

Half an hour later, I drove the car while Jane and Tina supported Yolanda in the backseat as we rushed to the hospital.

After a long ordeal, the doctor told us that Yolanda had a slight rupture due to an ectopic pregnancy. This child cannot stay. Otherwise, it will cost her life!

Jane contacted Yolanda's parents and brought them to the hospital to sign for the surgery. She also explained the situation to them.

"That beast Arthur!" Yolanda's father trembled with anger.

"Yolanda must not marry him!" Yolanda's mother, her eyes red from anger and heartache, wiped her tears and said.

I held her hand and comforted, "Auntie, Yolanda and Arthur haven't obtained a marriage certificate yet. There's still time. This is an ectopic pregnancy. God is helping her by pulling her back from hell. So please rest assured, let us handle this matter. We will definitely give you a satisfactory account. Before that, please don't go find Arthur."

Letting him off so easily is outrageous.

Yolanda's parents agreed to our request. When Yolanda was pushed out of the operating room, we crowded around to see how she was doing.

Yolanda's face was pale, her eyes shut tightly without any response. The doctor said it was because the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet and she would wake up soon.

I asked Jane and Tina to accompany Yolanda's mother and bring some chicken soup over. Then I asked Yolanda's father to go back to the company without worrying. I stayed beside Yolanda alone, waiting for her to wake up.

"Yolanda, are you awake?" After a while, Yolanda woke up. I quickly poured her a glass of water. "Here, have some warm water."

Yolanda looked at me, her eyes filled with exhaustion. I thought she might blame me for telling Jane and the others about Arthur's affair, causing her embarrassment.

But Yolanda reached out and held my hand weakly, saying, "Rose, thank you. Otherwise, I would have continued to be deceived."

I was stunned, and suddenly felt a warmth in my eyes. I put down the glass and held her hand, reassuring her, "Yolanda, as long as we get through this period, everything will be fine. Arthur doesn't deserve you!"

Yolanda's eyes showed pain, but she nodded. "I know, but I can't understand why he would do this. Am I not good enough?"

"You are lovely, Yolanda. It's just that he is a scoundrel. Even your child is preventing you from falling into hell. You must stay clear-headed." I squeezed her hand firmly.

Yolanda touched her belly with her other hand, and a tear slid down her cheek. "Yes, maybe the child also knew that if he existed, I would have probably endured it. This is why my child chose to leave me!"
