Alaric's POV
I pushed the straws if grasses aside, pushing through the short wooden shrubs around. I avoided the tees, as they could serve as hideout for vampires. This is their terrain, hence I must be watchful of my every move.
All I can think of right now is how to get my lover out of the reach of those beasts, into my very own arms, to kiss her tenderly. I had plans for Chelsea and I this weekend. I thought of it as a way of relieving her of stress and the threat. I was furiously scattering grasses. A premature vampire dropped right ahead of me, bending down like a primate, he was. He gnashed his teeth, like doesn't have an idea of my true Identity and powers. I walked to him with a resounding punch on his face. I could hear his teeth cracking. He flew to the tree and bounced back at me, showing forth battle rage.
Who's this lad? I scoffed, gathering strength in my fists. He came at me, hands targeted towards my heart.
I didn't bulge. I grabbed his fist with my left and held him in place, then I began to throw several punches in his face.
"This is for disrespecting the werewolf pack." I said, throwing one directly at his mouth. Some teeth fell off. I made sure to step on them, that same way, I stepped on his pride and increased my morale as well.
"This is for laying your filthy hands on my woman." I smashed my head on his.
"And this...." I lifted him by his neck and squeezed the hell out of him, like he was an orange. He gasped for air.
"This is for standing up against me"
I Smashed him into a tree. He fell like a bag of dirt he actually was.
I spat on his corpse as it vanished and turned into ashes.
This is what I want to see.
To see more of the vampire clan turning to ashes. Not just that, I want it to be as a result of my glorious touch.
Kayla's POV
He's such a jerk! Funny enough, this jerk is my twin brother, Kevin. Why would he blame me for wanting to save Chelsea? Did he not agree to come along on his own free will?
I refused to spare him a glance, although I was stealing glances at him from the corner of my eyes, eyeing him all over.
"What is it!" He caught my eyes.
"Nothing." I looked away.
"I just don't like the way you treat Chelsea." I confessed.
He was silent for a while, then he spoke.
"I'm only trying to speak the truth..." He stated.
I nodded.
"What truth, Kevin? What in Christ name did Chelsea do to you? Why are you so bent on saying she's a bad person?" I defended.
"Is she not a witch?" He added.
"Don't tell me that, are we not corpses? Are we not freaking vampires?" My voice was becoming loud. I need to defend this, real time.
He was mute.
"Remember when I had issues with Torin? You know she tried her best to set us up at the birthday party she organized."
He nodded.
"Can you imagine how much money she spent on the party? c'mon Kevin, you went into the mall with her. You saw her pay for the goddamn things." I shrugged to express my anger.
The chains around my hands burnt my skin. I stopped moving my hands.
"I didn't stay for the party, you know... Tell me, what did this girl do? She gave me five fucking missed calls that night only to ask how I was faring." I was beginning to talk like a preacher. Sweat broke across my head.
Kevin was looking remorseful.
"And when mum and dad were held hostage..." He was saying. He sniffled.
"She stood as bait to resue them" he added.
"Freaking true, Kevin!" I whispered.
"I'm sorry." I think Kevin said that. I wasn't sure, so I did not reply.
"I'm sorry, Kayla" he said again.
I fully looked at him like I just saw a ghost. Did Kevin just say he was sorry?
I guess miracles also exist amongst the vampires.
"It's okay, Kevin" I wanted to pay his head like a good sister.
I bent my head. The cross on my necklace fell to my tigh.
The cross!
Why didn't I notice that i had the cross mark on. It sure could deal with the vampires.
I chuckled.
"Guess what I found." I whispered.
He didn't reply.
"A cross." I smirked. He raised his head.
"Your necklace!" He grinned.
I bent my head well enough to allow the necklace fall out. I turned to pickup the cross and tucked it into the padlock, holding the silver chains together. After squeezing and rolling, I heard a small metal clank. The guard turned and looked at us.
I glared at him. He returned to what he was doing.
I don't care anyways.
I unshackled my hands slowly and gently dropped the cross which was now our key close enough for Kevin to reach. He did as I had done earlier on.
He was also free.
We nodded at each other, whispering our next line of action.
I yawned aloud.
"I wanna drink some water!" I yelled.
The guy turned at us and cussed. He pulled out his keys from his pocket and unlocked the silver gates, without touching it.
He signalled on the next guy who came in with an animal skinned bottle.
Irritating.
I nodded at Kevin. So did he.
As soon as the guy gave me the water, I gave him a head butt and grabbed his head, pushing him to the gate.
My brother was doing the same to the other guy.
Soon enough, we had ended up breaking both of their heads on the gate till they lost their lives. We were bloody and dirty.
"Let's go save Chelsea, shall we?" Kevin said.
I nodded.
He truly had exhibited repentance
