Chapter Twenty

Chelsea's POV

I turned in bed, drowsy yet already awake as the reflection of the sun weaved through my window blinds and hit me squarely in the face. My eyes squinted before they fluttered open and the first thing I saw was a tall figure looming over me, on their knees.

"Who are you!?" I instinctively screamed, kicking the said person away and he landed squarely at the foot of the bed.

I immediately sat up and looked down at the figure that was now groaning in pain. It was actually my brother, Jasper.

He sat up and glared at me. "The fuck-"

I felt a smile forming at the edge of my lips seeing him so pissed and leaned back on the bed, placing my head on the headrest.

"You look like an angry loli. Cute," I commented, mockingly.

Sure enough, his eyes glinted and he glared at me even harder. "You are the one who is a loli. If anything, I'm sure I look more like the hulk, built and tall."

I stiffened a laugh. "You must also be green then?"

This made him quiet for a moment but he soon gave a defensive reply. "Why did you kick me like that? I was just checking if you have woken up and this is what I get in return?"

I shrugged, "I had no idea. I just saw someone looming over me so I did what any sane girl would do and kicked them off the bed."

Jasper gave me a look. "No girl kicks people out of bed as you do. So heartless."

I couldn't help but chuckle when I heard this. Then, I looked up at him and stated, "Thanks"

He seemed surprised that I would say that and was about to question me, or, mock me as always. But, I didn't give him the chance to do that.

"What happened to me exactly?" I asked.

His point of focus immediately moved from what I said. He held his waist casually and shrugged. "We don't really know the details. Dad was hoping you would tell us when you woke up."

He paused for a moment, looking at me, and flicked his finger like he always does when he remembers something. "Ah... The boy that brought you."

"Someone brought me home?"

"It was your teacher that brought you home. But, she said it was a schoolmate who found you."

His words didn't serve to help me understand but rather fueled my confusion even more.

I tried to remember what happened yesterday. I remembered going on tour with the rest, my phone fell and I went downstairs to pick it up.

Ali, I remembered seeing something strange and was curious. Everything after that was blank. I could tell there was something more but I couldn't remember what it was exactly.

"Do you recall anything?"

I shook my head and looked at my brother. "No. I can't remember."

Jasper was silent for a moment. A moment later, he reached towards me and patted my head.

"Don't force yourself otherwise you'll get a headache," He said. "You won't go to school today so rest well."

"I won't go to school? But I'm fine now."

Jasper shrugged. "Dad wants you to rest well."

I didn't bother saying anything any longer. It was after all beneficial for me if I'm allowed to take a day break.

Jasper turned around and began to button up his shirt. It was then I noticed he was still getting dressed for school.

He looked at me. "I need to get ready for school. See you later."

"Alright."

As he opened the door to leave, however, he was bumped into by dad who was also intending to enter. The two men exchanged glances with dad giving him a glare and Jasper returning it with a rather cheeky smile.

I could not help but smile at this. My family had all sorts of ways to exchange messages across; the eye signs and languages were one of them.

And I guessed they were talking about how Jasper had snatched the chance to be the first person I saw when I woke up.

After Jasper left, dad resumed his usual demeanor. He flashed me a wide smile but I could still see the concern flashing in his eyes as he settled on my bed.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked.

I smiled. "Better. A little weak but it's nothing I can't manage."

He nodded. "That's good." He was quiet for some time and I could tell he wanted to ask me what happened but he was contemplating whether to let me rest more and not burden me.

I had to tell them what I knew anyway. So I spoke first. "I can't remember much of what happened yesterday. I do remember that I was in the tower with the others. But my phone fell so I had to leave the group and get it. Then, I had seen something."

"I remember knowing it was something strange but that's all I can remember." I looked up at him. "I can't recall anything afterward."

Dad was silent for some time. Then, he sighed and reached out to home my hands, reassuring me. "Don't worry. We'll take our time to understand it all. For now, you need to eat up and rest."

I nodded but then I remembered Jasper saying someone had discovered me.

"Did Ms. Adams say who found me?"

Dad pursed his lips and tried to recall. When he did, he nodded. "Yeah, she said it was one of your classmates named Torin."

Torin?

My eyes widened and I was a little spooked. How come it was that unusual boy who found me and he had even found the need to save me?

Dad didn't let me think more about it. He stood up from the bed and patted my hair.

"Your mom already made breakfast for you. I also need to go to work." He said. "Take a bath and eat your meal."

I nodded. "Sure. I'll be down in a minute."

He smiled and soon, he shuffled out of my room and soon disappeared out of my sight.
