Chelsea's Pov
"Are you nuts?" I asked, getting pissed off.
He simply smiled, that stupid smile that haunted my dreams last night and makes me lose control of my emotions, it made him look hotter which angered me, he is an Adonis and god of seduction, good lord! If only he knew what it did to me, I wasn't one who'd lose control this easily but the fact that he had this effect on me, I can't possibly ignore that.
"Come my lady, let's have dessert." He said cheerily.
"You're unbelievable!" I exclaimed.
The stupid smile was plastered on his irresistibly handsome face.
"What have I done now?" He asked innocently.
I took few steps towards him and stood face to face with him.
"What have you done? I'll tell you what, you made me feel a thousand butterflies flutter in my tummy only to leave me hanging and the rest to my imaginations!" I breathed out.
"How exactly did I do that?" He asked again.
"How exactly? You almost kissed me! Do you know what that means?" I exclaimed.
He shook his head.
"No I don't."
I scoffed.
"It means, you've disrupted the equilibrium of my body system and left me to sort it out all by myself!" I yell.
"I don't see how I can do that."
"Don't play dumb with me, you'd better finish what you've started!"
"What? I didn't start anything, you're accusing me with no cause."
"You sly old fox!"
"I don't see why you're angry at me Chelsea but unless you want me to kiss yo.
I stuttered immediately, he has a way of getting me to say things I don't want to, he arched his eyebrow and wiggled them.
"Oh, so you want me to kiss you." He whispered.
I pretended to be annoyed and turned my face to the other side, he gently cupped my face in his manly hands and brought it closer to his face, I was excited and awaited the kiss once more, but he just pinched the bridge of my nose and stepped backwards, I was angry, again! He had gotten away with it the first time and there was no way I'd let him do it again.
I held his hand just before he could escape and before he could protest, I stood on my ten toes and kisses him, he was taken aback by my actions and tensed up for a second before he reciprocated the kiss, he tasted like strawberry and I was willing to get drunk in it, the kiss lasted for a minute as I deepened it.
I closed my eyes to freely enjoy the taste of his lips, it then dawned on me that I was currently kissing Alaric, I was freaking kissing a beast!
Alaric's POV
I didn't expect Chelsea's reaction, I planned on teasing her only but she took it seriously, I was scared I had unintentionally released the mate effect on her when she ached to kiss me and when she did I realized it was just her and not my handiwork, I felt alive the moment our lips met and didn't want to let go.
She deepened the kiss which I loved and then suddenly she broke the kiss and instinctively moved backwards, her facial expression showed that she was confused, I became alarmed almost immediately and tried to hold her hands.
"Chelsea, are you alright? What's wrong?" I asked worriedly.
She raised a hand to stop me from moving closer, I was confused, I took a step closer to her and she yelled at me.
"Don't you dare take another step closer to me." She warned.
"What's wrong Chelsea? What have I done wrong?" I asked her.
She snickered.
"What have I done? I kissed you, what the hell have I done?" She muttered.
"Yes, you kissed me but what's wrong with that, it's just a kiss." I told her.
She scoffed.
"Just a kiss?" She asked sarcastically.
"Yes, why are you acting so dramatic about that?" I asked her again, I just don't understand why she was being that way.
"What did you do to me uhn? What evil trick did you use on me to get me to kiss you?" She questioned.
I laughed briefly.
"Evil trick? I did absolutely nothing, you kissed me willingly, I didn't force you or anything." I explained to her.
"Lies! You're saying nothing but pure lies, how can I willingly kiss you?"
"What is wrong with you kissing me from your own Accord?"
"Everything! I mean look at you! You're not even human, you're just a shape shifting monster who has no history, family or relations, how could I kiss you?" She asked.
"It is true that I'm not human, but I have emotions and feelings too, why am I here? Because I love you! I've done things I never thought I would just to prove that I love you and gone out of my way severally." I yelled.
"Well I never asked you to do any of that for me! You're always forcing your so-called love on me."
"It's because I love you, you're my mate, don't you understand? I can't live without you." I explained frantically.
"I'm not buying any of that! You're a monster not human! I can never love a beast!" She screamed.
"You always call me a monster and beast, all I ever did was love you, why do you make loving you harder than it should be, I struggle to get into your life wile you effortlessly kick me out of yours, if that's what you want then I'll do it, leaving you alone will kill me but what's the use of hanging around if all you'll do is hurt and continuously push me away, it hurts Chelsea, it hurts! I've been a pain in the ass to you but not anymore, I'll leave and you'll never have to set eyes on me again, I hope you enjoy your life free of me!" I said angrily and stomped out.
I was tired of having to be hurt by her at all times, the goddess was punishing me for not valuing Ciara enough and I accepted it, I was better off without her, my wolf groaned in pain in my head.
"I know mate, it isn't easy, I'm hurt too but it's better to accept the truth bow instead of living a lie, we've been as good as dead for five hundred years, we can survive this." I said to my wolf.
I texted Torin to come pick up my car and walked aimlessly around, I got to an isolated area after hours of walking in the darkness, my wolf whimpered in my head and I let him out, he was hurt and so was I.
Torin's POV
Immediately I got Alaric's message I knew something was wrong, I left Lexi at home and went to get the car, I checked up on Chelsea and met her crouched in a corner in the cabin, her eyes were swollen yet she wasn't crying.
"Chelsea?" I called out.
She lifted up her head and gave me a sad smile.
"Torin, you're here." She said weakly.
"Yes, what happened?" I asked, looking around, the place looked intact which meant Alaric wasn't furious, he had an habit of taking out his anger on things around him.
"Do me a favor, take me home." She requested.
"Where's Alaric?" I asked curiously.
"Please, just take me home." She begged.
I nodded my head and leaded her to the parking lot, we got in and I drove her home, throughout the ride; we didn't speak to each other, she looked out the window and sniffed occasionally.
"Thank you, goodnight." She said when I dropped her off at her home.
"Chels, is everything okay? I know this is probably not a good time and I have no right to pry into your personal affairs but I can't help but get worried, is everything fine?" I asked worriedly.
"Yes, thanks for your concern Torin, goodnight." She replied shortly and went into her house.
I watched as she went and shook my head, something was definitely wrong, I tried to reach out to Alaric through the mind link but he cut me off which was unusual of him, I sighed and drove off.
Chelsea's Pov
When Alaric walked out, I felt a part of me die instantly, I was confused, I desperately wanted him out of my life and now that he's gone I felt empty like I have made a big mistake, he wasn't human, there was no way I could love someone like him, I concluded it was pity I felt for him, he sincerely poured out his emotions right before me and I know I hurt him.
It's was just unbelievable, I can't adjust to a life of the supernatural, my mood was sour and I took a shower, his words kept ringing in my head alarmingly and I almost ran mad, I changed into my pyjamas and tried to get some sleep but sleep was far from my eyes, Alaric's face kept reappearing before me.
