Alaric's POV
I seethed in anger as I saw the pictures a bastard sent to me, my blood boiled seeing what he did with an unconscious Chelsea, I wanted to call the number which sent me the pictures at first but Cain stopped me, he suggested we track the sender's location so as to save Chelsea and for us to do that we had to trick him into calling.
I didn't reply his messages at first and after an hour he sent a more comprising picture with Chelsea, Cain explained to me that most of it was graphics or some boring technology and advised me to send him a threat which I did, minutes later he called and I heard Chelsea's voice, it was surprisingly calm, I was relieved that she didn't panic.
Cain was able to trace his location as under the frame of the one hour the blackmailer wasted in texting us; he had gotten together the best of modern technology team and they tracked the location where the bastard called from.
"Alpha, do I need to come along or?"Cain asked knowingly.
"I'll deal with this myself." I assured him.
"Alaric, show him how it's done." Cain said.
I nodded my head and smirked, I rushed out of the mansion and punched in the location into my GPS monitor, whoever it was that kidnapped my mate would definitely wish he wasn't born, I drove crazily fast towards the place.
"I'm coming Chelsea, hang on." I muttered.
About half an hour later, I got to an abandoned street, the GPS pointed to one of the houses there so I parked few miles away and walked around, using Chelsea's scent as lead, it lead me to a half dilapidated building and I snickered, it looked desolate, a perfect hideout for criminals, I sighted a familiar car just two blocks away and I shook my head.
"This better not be who I think it is." I muttered to myself as I entered the building, contrary to it's exterior look; the house was we'll furnished in the interior, the TV was on and I saw a half bitten sausage roll on the table, I took it and sniffed it, whenever ate it was somewhere near I began to search the entire house but found nothing, I was devasted.
My sense of smell was never wrong as Chelsea's scent was strong in there, I heard some metal cling underneath and I listened attentively, I smiled as I finally realized that there was an underground building underneath the house, I began to look for the entrance and soon found it, I quietly went down the dimly lit place which was more of a basement.
Chelsea's scent filled my nostrils which meant she was near, I heard some voices in the distance and followed it.
"Stop laughing you bitch!" I heard an oddly familiar voice yell.
"I'm sorry, I jus can't stop laughing." I heard Chelsea say in between laughter.
"It's not funny!" The voice shouted.
"Well you can't blame me for your poor sense of humor now can you?" Chelsea retorted.
"You little piece of shit." The voice cursed but Chelsea kept laughing, I didn't know what amused her but her smile was so contagious that I began to quietly laugh, I tiptoed behind them and hid so the kidnapper wouldn't sense my presence.
"I'll kill you and Alaric I swear!" The man roared, his back was turned at me so I couldn't see his face properly but his physique was like that of someone I knew but just don't really remember.
"Okay, I'm not doubting the fact that you'd kill us but I'm just wondering, you look like you would break into two anytime soon, were you malnourished as a child and don't you think any weapon would be heavier than your total weight?" Chelsea mocked.
The man was evidently angry as he screamed at the top of his voice, I couldn't help but burst into laughter too, blowing my cover, their attention was now on me and I stared at my toes instead.
"Well, well, well! What do we have here?" The man said sarcastically.
I looked at his face and then realized I really do know him.
"Hey Alaric, what's up?" Chelsea greeted casually, I was shocked as the man in front of me but I decided to deal with it later.
"Who the hell are you?" I asked the man.
"I am Nicolas." He replied rudely.
"Nicolas? Your face looks awfully familiar." I said.
"I am Elder Timothy's first son, the one who imprisoned for that whore!" He screamed.
"Don't you ever call me a whore! Didn't your mother teach you to never call everyone by her name?" Chelsea threw at him.
I burst into laughter and watched as Nicolas exploded, he took a gun out and pointed it at me, I snickered.
"Is he foolish?" Chelsea asked loudly.
Nicolas turned and pointed the gun at her.
"I mean, you're werewolves, anyone would know that bullets don't harm us." Chelsea said.
I arched my eyebrows, how exactly did she know?
"How would you know that? You're just a unlucky human!" Nicolas yelled angrily.
"It's either you surrender and I make your death quick and painless or I filet your skin and feed it to you." I told him.
He laughed.
"You think you can scare me? You don't, care me." He said boldly.
"Why are you doing this? Betraying your pack?" I asked curiously.
"You dare imprison my lord! I have sworn my loyalty to the elder and you tortured him." He shouted.
"Oh, you're cohorts with the traitor? It makes you a traitor also." I said angrily.
"Will you boys finish up with whatever it is you're doing and free me? I'm hungry Alaric." Chelsea complained.
I chuckled lightly, her confidence was turning me on.
"Shut up!" Nicolas yelled at her.
"Yell at me one more time and I'll curse you to yell until you die, non-stop." Chelsea threatened.
I laughed again but then paused and turned to face her.
"Did you just say curse?" I asked.
"Yes, that's what witches do right? Cast a spell on someone, curse them or so?" She replied nonchalantly.
"And?" I inquired.
"I'm a witch, the greatest to have ever lived, Ciara." She replied.
I froze for a second, I didn't know how to express my joy and happiness, this means she had finally regained her memories from her past life, my Ciara was back!
"I don't care about..." Nicolas began but before he could complete his statement, I materialized in front of him and ripped his throat out.
He fell to the ground, lifeless as his blood gushed out, Chelsea looked away from the gruelsome scene and I went forward to untie her, she puked as she stood up, obviously irritated by Nicolas, she hugged me tightly like her life depends on it.
"I was scared for a minute there Alaric." She confessed.
I patted her back gently.
"I'm here now honey, you're fine." I said reassuringly.
She passed out almost immediately and I carried her bridal style from there, I lit the entire building and left it to burn down to ashes, I told Cain through the mind link to make preparations and call me a healer, my mate was coming home with me that night.
Chelsea's Pov
My nostrils flared up as I perceived a sweet and familiar scent, I smiled and adjusted to a more comfortable position, when I tried to move away I felt a strong arm pull me into a warm embrace, I let my hand roam around the fortress I touched.
"Wake up sleepyhead." I heard Alaric said.
"Five minutes more." I drawled.
I heard him chuckle and then a wet kiss on my lips, I opened my eyes as he pulled away, I was enjoying it and didn't want it to stop, he smiled as I pouted and my eyes begged for more.
"Wake up Chelsea." He said.
I rubbed my eye with the back of my palm and sat up, my eyes scanned my surroundings and it wasn't familiar but I was calm because Alaric was there.
"Where am I?" I asked him.
"Somewhere far away, where no one can reach you." He told me.
I frowned.
"We're not in town are we?" I asked.
"No, we're out of town, this is my resting place, I only come here once in Forever, we need a break from the world after what you've just gone through and no worries, I've contacted your parents and told them I'm taking you on a two-week vacation so it's just you and me." He explained.
I heaved a sigh of relief and hugged him tightly, I was never going to let go of him ever again, after regaining my memories, I realize how much I love him, this was all I needed for now, time alone with him.
"Let's spend the whole day in each other's arm shall we?" I asked childishly and he laughed.
"Anything for you."
