Eighty nine

Chelsea's POV

The door bell rang.
Jasper rushed to pull it open.
The six feet plus tall frame emerged at the door. His height was indeed intimidating to jasper.
"Who's there" John asked coming up close behind.
"Oh! Hi. How may I help you" John waved at the unfamiliar face.
"You called me." Alaric's Gaze was intense. Jasper had wanted to see him at first, but on seeing him, he just can't stand it.
"Uhm .. yeah...come in." Jason was stammering already.
I was almost shaking at the dining table.
Dad kept giving me reassuring looks. Although, he kept sipping his coffee like he was up to something.
Alaric walked to the table. He stretched out his hand.
"Hello" he had said. Like he was the same age bracket as my dad.
My dad took his hand with a wide grin plastered across his face.
"How do you do sir " Alaric asked with humor.
"Good!" Dad said, signalling at the chair, indicating he sat down.
Alaric took the chair directly opposite that which dad was sitting on.
I was right beside dad, observing both party exchanging pleasantries.
"Dad, meet Alaric.... My boyfriend." I found myself saying, rather shy. I was poking my spaghetti in the plate. Mum would have been furious seeing me do that, but not today when I was most nervous. She seemed to understand my feelings at the moment.
"Nice to meet you, Alaric." My dad's concrete bass toned voice pronounced.
"The pleasure is all mine." Alaric's choice of dressing today was very much casual and stylish. He was clad in a sky blue soft polo that revealed a substancial part of his chest and some manly hair. His shorts were just a simple short kakhi trouser. His hair was styled to the back and smoothly gelled.
I was amazed by how fast he had changed his hairstyle and dressed for this dinner In a short while.
Enough of the long talks about Alaric's dressing...
"How old are you?" Dad asked with a mouthful of salad.
"I'm 28" I heard him say.
"28..." Dad reminisced, then he stared at me like... 'where on earth did you meet a guy who's this much older than you?'
I'm only 21 though.
I nearly cussed, or would I say... I cussed actually.
"How did you meet my daughter." Dad asked.
Alaric gazed at me first.
"I saw her at school."
"Are you her teacher or something?"
"No." I interrupted. I didn't want to make things hard for both of them.
"You told me you met him in the community." Dad's gaze was questioning.
"Yes Dad. He met me at school and I met him around..." I explained further.
"You know how the love story between youths these days can be." Mum intercepted, dropping a big whoop of cream on dad's salad. He stirred his salad and took a spoonful.
"What do you do for a living." Dad asked. Alaric dropped his fork and places his arms on the table, leaning forward, as composed as he had always been.
"I do business, sir."
"Like?"
"I own a hotel and restaurant around."
Dad seemed impressed as soon as Alaric said that.
He was indeed impressed by money. I think that did the magic. Dad was no longer asking him hot questions. I was relieved, as if I had been poured cool water. I began to eat more comfortably. Alaric ate fine as well. He almost emptied the plate, like he actually enjoyed the food. I'm going to ask him later on if he actually enjoys the taste of food, or...
I don't want to think weird things. This guy is my lover now. No... No... No bad thoughts babe...
I squeezed my toes.
Everyone had finished eating. I began to pack up the plates, deep ones together and the flat ones on one another. I felt Alaric's hand brush mine occasionally. He was helping out. I felt a jolt of electric heat rushing through my veins each time we had skin contact. That is the guy I love. It's him... It's Alaric. I felt bad for Kayla and Torin. I had plans to resolve whatever qualms they both had with each other, but here I am... Playing lovey dooey with Alaric.
"Ric.." I called softly.
"Hmmm" he replied, not sparing me a look. His focus was on the plates he put on the dish washer. He spread in the liquid wash and closed the dish washer. We were both in the kitchen. Swears... I did not hear a single footstep at the door. It was as though everyone was in their own room, including mum and dad. What in earth are they up to?
Jasper's POV
I tiptoed to my room. Dad already left for his room, instructing that we see Chelsea's boyfriend off. I wasn't going to just see him off like that.
I want to see him in.... Lolz
I watched them go to the kitchen innocently. That is what I want. I want a supportive guy for my sister, not some mother fucking heart driller of an assole - her ex.
I don't want recall those sad memories. Each time he came by, he left the dishes to mum. But this guy, Alaric had rather insisted that he does the dishes before leaving. Besides, he looks like a guy with a whole lot of currency.
I bounced on my bed. John was right above my bed, on his own bed, head down, chest pressing his pillow. He was doing the usual... Pressing his phone, probably surfing Instagram and generally the internet.
I was skeptical about this Alaric of a guy at first, but now, although I do not know why... I just feel like he's already a part of the family. I'm beginning to imagine the computer games he's going to have in his house. Come to think of it, I need to visit him soon and get close to him. Who knows, he can get me a job as a manager in his company.
I just let them be in the kitchen. Let them know each other more, touch each other more and do a lot of things that young couples do.
