Forty Six
Alaric's Pov
"Are you sure that's your best smile?" Cain asked me as I flashed him a nervous smile.
"Why? Isn't it presentable?" I asked curiously.
"It looks creepy, kind of forced if you'd ask me." Cain replied.
I sighed, Cain and I had gotten pretty well along over the last few hours, I didn't know he had such a fun and friendly part, I couldn't blame him for not showing me this side of his because I was always stoic and straight to the point, he found it hard to address me by my name at first but he quickly warmed up to me and for the past half an hour now he's been my coach on how to deliver the most gentlemanly smile ever.
My appearance was one to die for and I know for a fact that Chelsea found me irresistible in my dreams but I've been asleep for half a thousand years and the world has evolved, I was still in fashion but I was told the way of wooing women is quite different from how I remembered.
"I need to get this right, there's no way I'll go on and creep her out, she should be dazed to see me not scared." I said thoughtfully.
Cain chuckled.
"Alpha, I meant Alaric, I think in my own honest opinion that you should just be yourself, not your self self as in like the one we all dread but let your emotions show and follow your heart, I'm sure everything will be just fine." Cain advised.
I smiled as I patted his shoulders gently, he proved to be more useful than I thought, I knew I wouldn't regret ever getting closer to him, I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by the sudden loud beep of my phone, I fished it out from the back pocket of my pants and checked it, a message came in from Torin.
"It's your cue big man, see you in fifteen." I read out loud.
I placed my phone back in my pocket and assessed my look one more time, I turned to face Cain who smiled at me encouragingly and I tilted my head backwards in acknowledgement.
"Wish me luck Cain." I said as I began to walk towards the door.
"You don't need luck Alaric, you're the god of good lucks." Cain flattered, he grabbed a cologne from my table and threw it to me, I caught it with my left hand and sprayed a considerably large amount of it, I smelt nice and I loved it.
Cain laughed briefly and I walked out of the room, he walked closely behind me and we part ways as I go the garage, I unlocked the Rolls-Royce and fastened my seatbealts before igniting the engine, I breathe in sharply and said a little prayer before driving out the mansion, I am going on a date with the one woman who managed to invade my dreams all night and do to me things I didn't know existed, how can I not be excited?
Torin's Pov
I chuckled as Lexi handed a bar of chocolate to Chelsea who took it with joy and munched it hungrily, Kayla looked embarrassed as she saw her friend almost embarrass herself, she looked my way and when our eyes met she quickly looked away, I could tell she was blushing hard as her cheeks turned pink.
"You look cute when you blush Kayla." Lexi complimented Kayla.
Kayla blushed even harder, probably embarrassed that she was caught blushing, Chelsea simpled smiled and throw whatever was left of her chocolate bar in her mouth, I found her interesting because she managed to somehow catch the attention of the ruthless Alaric, I was simply doing him a favor by setting up the date.
"You look like you just saw a ghost Torin, you zoned out." I heard Chelsea tease.
I snickered and fiddled with the golden ring on my pinky.
"Why should I zone out all because of a ghost when you're right here in front of me, I wouldn't dare give your place to another." I answered jokingly.
She chuckled and playfully threw me a punch which I dodged, I checked the time on my wristwatch and realized it was almost time for the date I fixed so I cleared my throat.
"Will you please hurry up with your preparations for the date now? You've got twenty minutes left." I reminded her.
Chelsea checked her wristwatch and gasped dramatically.
"I'm almost late for my date Kayla, come pick out a nice outfit for me." Chelsea said with urgency.
"I have an eye for beautiful things, let me help you out with the shopping." Lexi suggested.
Apparently, Both ladies were surprised a seven year old was this outspoken and confident but I smirked, if only they knew who she really was then they would never underestimate her, Chelsea looked at Kayla for confirmation and Kayla shrugged.
"I mean, she really has good eyes as she said and knows how to appreciate things, it wouldn't do anyone any harm if she helps out right?" Kayla said.
"Alright, let's get to it then, we don't have much time, make me beautiful for my date." Chelsea said cheerily, emphasizing on the word date.
The three went off further into the store and picked some outfits, they proceeded to the changing room while I waited outside patiently for five minutes I tapped my foot on the ground impatiently as I texted Alaric his date was in fifteen minutes time, I put my phone back in my pocket after the message was sent and waited two more minutes for the girls.
The curtains opened and a lovely looking Chelsea walked out, she was dressed beautifully for the date and I gave her a thumbs up, it was definate Alaric would lose his mind if he saw her, I admit to myself that she is pretty.
"So how does she look? Heavenly right?" Lexi asked me.
I smiled broadly.
"She looks beautiful but would soon been a damsel in distress if she's late for her date." I reminded.
Chelsea laughed as she walked towards me.
"There's no way that's gonna ever happen, I look like a princess, I can't be in distress." She said boldly.
"Well, poetic Cinderella, you're running out of time to go meet Prince charming." I said teasingly.
"How much time have I got left to see this friend of yours?" She asked sarcastically.
"Roughly ten minutes, you'd arrive late but it's still fine." I told her, Alaric would probably be there by now and I know better than anyone else that he hated one coming late to a meeting which involved him, he treasures punctuality but this girl had managed to warm her way into his heart so it was obvious he would do anything and go as far as changing his principles for her.
"I'll be there in ten minutes." She said confidently.
"We'll see, come Lexi, let's see how punctual Chelsea can be." I called out to Lexi and we both left the girls standing and made our way out, I walked back to my car outside and drove to the date venue, I needed to be there to introduce the two.
"She's beautiful, just wait until Alaric set eyes on her." Lexi boasted.
"Indeed." I said briefly.
Chelsea's Pov
"Chels, you better get going else you'll arrive there late." Kayla said worriedly.
I was done with my shopping and had five minutes more to get to my destination, I hated been late to anywhere and Kayla reminded me also, I smiled at her reassuringly as I got in the Uber she had ordered for me.
"I will be back pretty soon Kay, get me some food before I get back." I said to her.
"Foodie! I will, get going." She said jokingly as she.closed the car door, I wind down the window and waved her goodbye, the driver started the car and we moved, I sighed as I retouched my makeup, I am certain that Torin is up to something, this whole date thing was a bit sus but I decided to check it out myself, there's no harm in trying after all.
I received a text from Kayla as I alighted from the car, she wanted to make sure I arrived at the venue, I texted her back that I was there as I walked into the place, it was a nice five star restaurant with a high profile, I smiled as I caught a reflection from myself from the transparent glasses the place was made of.
A beautiful lady attended to me the moment I walked in.
"How may I help you?" She asked politely.
"I've made reservations under the name Torin." I told her, Torin had asked me to say this when I get here, she smiled as the name sounded familiar to her.
"Oh, you must be Miss Chelsea, your table is just over there ma'am, at the VIP section." She announced.
