Chapter 31: A Strong Need
-Rogan-
The next morning, I was up earlier than Serena, and instead of taking her to the kitchen, I had some breakfast brought to her. I wanted to get it over with quickly so we could go out exploring my territory today. I needed to push her harder. I needed her to see the truth, and she could only do that by actually seeing it. She needed to walk among us and see we didn’t hurt people. We just wanted to be left alone.
“Eat,” I said, as Serena tied one of her shoes.
“I’m not hungry,” she said.
She was sitting on a couch in front of me, the food standing between us.
“It wasn’t a suggestion,” I said.
Serena glared at me and then took a piece of bacon, taking one bite and looking at me with a look that said *there*. I rolled my eyes.
“Not enough,” I said.
“Why is it so important?” she asked.
“I thought I had explained it.”
“Can we just get on with whatever we need to get over with today?” she asked.
“When you have eaten your breakfast,” I said.
She raised an eyebrow and then looked at the food. She then turned to me, but I just leaned back on the couch, looking like I wasn’t going anywhere.
“Fine …”
She dug into the food, eating it fast and like she had no manners at all. I just sighed, shaking my head a little. She did it only to be annoying, but I noticed she wasn’t fighting me as much this morning. I had hopes that it meant she might be listening to me a little.
“There!” she said with her mouthful. “Happy?”
It certainly wasn’t a pretty sight, but it was rather funny. When was the last time I had had a good laugh? It seemed my mate could be something else, but serious.
“Thrilled,” I said in a dry voice, yet I couldn’t stop smiling.
“What?” she asked.
“Nothing. Let’s get going.”
I stood up and so did she.
“Jacket,” I told her when I saw she left her jacket on the couch.
“What are you? My dad?” she asked.
“Certainly not,” I said. “But it is chilly today.”
“Are we going hiking?”
“You’re human,” I said.
“I’m aware.”
“You get sick.”
“I’m aware,” she repeated.
“So. Wear. It.”
She crossed her arms and I moved closer to her, invading her space. It made her take a step back, but I just moved closer, until I had her backed up against the couch and then I placed my hands on both sides of her, caging her in.
“Again, it wasn’t a suggestion,” I said in a dark voice.
“Y-You aren’t wearing one,” she gave back but sounded almost scared.
She really was different this morning. She was letting me affect her. Good. I was getting under her skin.
“I’m a werewolf,” I said.
“A controlling one.”
“I am just looking out for my sweet mate,” I said.
“Don’t call me sweet,” she snarled.
“Oh, but you are so adorable when you get frustrated.”
She moved closer to me as if she could actually intimidate me, but I didn’t move an inch, and eventually, it was her who gave in. She sighed and looked away, looking like a child who had not gotten her way.
“You’re so damn annoying,” she mumbled.
I just smiled, before Serena suddenly turned around, because I was still caging her in, so she couldn’t go anywhere. She bent over the couch and reached for her jacket, but it made her push her ass back, pressing against my cock that started to swell, as she rubbed her little ass against me, trying to get her jacket that was almost out of her reach.
“*Stop that*,” I growled and placed a hand on her hip to still her.
Serena looked over her shoulder. She had just gotten her jacket and quickly stood up, removing my hand.
“Don’t touch me,” she said.
She had no idea what she had even done to me. How oblivious could my mate even be? She really was the perfect soldier, wasn’t she? She angrily put her jacket on, and then looked at me, impatiently waiting for me to move. I found it very hard to move away though because my need for her had only grown.
“What?” she asked.
I didn’t answer her and just tried using all my willpower to get my cock to go down.
“Aren’t you the one who wanted me to get the damn jacket?” she asked. “So, can we go?”
I nodded and took a step back, yet I seemed to have squeezed the couch very hard, because my fingers felt almost numb, and I had to move them a little to get the blood flowing again.
“Good, let us go then,” she said.
Serena walked by me and over to the door, but then stopped when she saw I wasn’t following. She looked over her shoulder and looked at me confused.
“What are you waiting for?”
I sighed, shaking my head a little.
“What now?”
“Nothing,” I said.
I couldn’t really tell her how badly I wanted us to stay here now, so I could fuck her good and hard, until we were both panting and sweating, barely able to move anymore.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
I just walked over to her, but when I got closer to her, my heart started to beat faster, and it certainly didn’t help with my swelling cock.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked.
I could barely focus. I knew it was the bond that pushed me to mark her as mine. The need to do it would only get stronger the longer we were together, and my wolf would get more desperate too. He didn’t like how slowly I was working, and I had to keep reminding him that turning a hunter onto our side wouldn’t be so easy.
“You’re acting weird,” she said and grabbed the handle, opening the door, but I placed a hand on it closing it again. “Hey! What was that for?”
I continued to look at Serena, feeling the way my cock pulsed, wanting to be buried deep inside of her. I shook my head trying to focus on the task here.
*Come on! Let us just mark her! She will see how wonderful it can be.*
I wanted to tell my wolf to shut up, but I didn’t want to freak Serena out by talking to myself.
“What?! Aren’t we going?”
“Remember,” I told her. “No tricks.”
“And what kind of tricks do you think I got up my sleeve?” she asked.
“You’re smart. I am sure you can come up with something.”
“Is that a challenge?”
“I am warning you, little hunter,” I said. “Don’t try anything.”
“Yes, yes, I hear you.”
“Serena, I am not kidding,” I said. “If you hurt someone you know what I will be forced to do.”
She sighed but then nodded.
“I get it. You will kill me. I understand,” she said.
“So, no tricks.”
“No tricks,” she promised and held up her hands as if I needed to see them to believe her.
“Good.”
I opened the door this time and held it for her, and then we walked outside.
