The man was lost in thought glaring at the woman's face–She looks way too beautiful more than all the women that he has been around since the beginning. She had very fair skin with long wavy hair that hung on her should; t was very dark and long. Her eyes were delicate and bright, it shines brightly like the morning sun and anyone would fall in love with her eyes at first glance.
But beneath the glaring eyes were the throb of the dark abyss that questions the sincerity of the person– looking deep into those eyes would give a person the urge to consciously stare into those eyes and at the end find out the truth lagging in them.
Zayn was shocked to meet a person whose eyes tell so much story about the kind of person she is and due to that, he was lost in a daze; forgetting to look away from her gaze.
“Mister, I'm sorry for bumping into you. I'll get you a new package of pastries now” Her voice cut through his thought and he quickly looked away feeling a little embarrassed to have been caught staring.
After a while, he managed to say. “You shouldn't worry about getting me a new package of pastries. those were just samples. I'll get another one now”.



After saying the words. he glanced at his watch while looking around sharply.
“I'm so sorry for the mess I've caused here”.
Bethany apologizes.
Just then, Gael came up to him carrying many packages and boxes of pastries.
Each of the boxes was staked into three strands. which were later complied together, and he struggled to carry them all at once, but he wasn't going to go out and come back to the shopping hall anymore so he forced himself to push further.
“President Meyer, do you need anything else?” Gael asked breathing heavily.
Only then did Zayn turn around to see him sighing heavily and he was immediately irritated by how he was acting like a lazy brat.
“Is there anymore thing to be brought from the list? If there is nothing else to buy, I think we should head out now, and try meeting up for the dinner event”.
Zayn explained while paying attention to the woman standing in awe beside him; her interest was piqued by the conversation between the two men.
“Alright. I'll get these to the car and you should come along as well, President Meyer”.
Gael was overjoyed after hearing that Zayn still has a plan to go for dinner.
Meanwhile, Bethany who was standing at the side heard the conversation between them, and her lips twitched into a sneaky smile as she thought of something.
She walked up to Zayn, and said.“I'm sorry for earlier, and even though you don't want me to compensate you, I still feel indebted. Take this. this is my business card and please feel free to give me a call in the future if you needed my help. don't hesitate to contact me ”.
With that, she shoved the business card into his hand and moved aside before he came up with a counter excuse to refuse it.
By the time, Zayn came back to his senses .he was a laser-colored business that had the name Bethany inscribed on it.
After glancing at it, he raised his head saying “There's no need for.........”
But when he finally looked up. the woman was no longer standing at the spot she was before.
strange! she was just here.
He simply swerved around to look for the woman but wasn't anywhere to be seen.
She must have gone to the other side of the cafe then.
After giving it a few thoughts he decided to go look for the woman and return the card. Then, he left.
Just as he had taken a few steps, he heard someone calling out to him from the back and he halted in his steps.
“President Meyer, where else are you heading to? Sofia just called me, and she said .......”
Before could finish his words, Zayn strode past him and head out of the hall.
Upon getting to where the car was parked. He got into the car, he looked lost in thought while flipping the business card in his hand around– he doesn't realize that the assistant had gotten into the cat as well and was paying keen attention to his actions.
He stared at the man for a while, then he let out a long sigh, before saying .“Are you feeling unwell, President Meyer? do you wish to see a doctor now?”.
The man furrowed his dark brows, and his cold eyes turned to the direction of the assistant who was eagerly waiting for his response.
“Since when did you become a doctor? Are you tired of your job here? In that case, I won't be needing the service of an assistant to anyone. I'll call to inform the human resources department to dissolve your contract after that you continue working as a health care worker”
Zayn sounded serious when he said these words, and Gael became anxious upon hearing him speak.
He panicked.“I-'m sorry President Meyer. That's not what I meant at all. Please let's go to the dinner instead ”.
“Alright, move. what are you still waiting for?” Gael glared at the chauffeur through the rearview mirror.
Then he drove off.
“Miss Burnett, why are you smiling so much?”
Sandra asked staring at Bethany, who was grinning from ear to ear while looking at the exit door.
Hearing the question posed at her, she swerved around to face Sandra.
“Well, this is a great start for the mission. so I'm very happy to have finally met 1/3 of the people who ruined my life. I'm going to slowly penetrate them now”.
“I don't think, that would be any easy at all. He didn't pay attention to you earlier. how would you go about it now?” Sandra looked inquisitive as her eyes trailed in the direction where Bethany was glaring at.
“You think it's a good idea to share the thoughts? just watch and learn”. She flick her fingers and the corner of her lips curled into a smirk.“Let's go home now, We have a dinner party to attend tonight. don't forget!”.
Sandra widened her eyes in shock when she heard that the woman who had refused to go to the party earlier is suddenly enthusiastic about going now.
“Miss Burnett, what are you saying now? You blatantly refused to go earlier and now you're suddenly and energetic about going there. what suddenly changed in these few minutes?”.
Sandra asked with her lips twitching vigorously as she was afraid that Bethany was going to reprimand her for jumping into matters that didn't need her opinions.
Although, she was her assistant she's also aware of the fact that Bethany hates being questioned down.
“I didn't want to go before, and now I have decided to go. do you have a problem with that?”
“I have no problem with it, but you've met two of your adversaries in a day and that doesn't seem like a good sign ”.
While she was busy analyzing the outcome of the event of the day. Bethany walked out of the hall heading out of the store.
Once Sandra came back to her senses, she chased after her and caught up with her right in front of the car as she was about to get into the car.
As soon as she got into the car, her phone soon started to ring. She brought it out from her purse and glances at the screen for the identity of the caller and when she was sure of the caller, she received the call.
A while later, after receiving the call, Bethany glared at Sandra, who was seated beside her and ordered coldly.“You two get out of the car right now” She spoke emotionlessly directly at her assistant, Sandra, and the chauffeur.
Sandra looked shocked upon hearing this.“Sandra, I want you to take the pastries home to the kids and make sure you do it on it. As for you, Jeff, I want you to escort Sandra home in a cab and make sure that she gets home safely before you leave for your home, do you understand that? Now, get out of the car and don't waste the little time I've got left”.
Perturbed, Sandra was startled for a couple of minutes as they couldn't understand how Bethany could change her ways like a chameleon in a second. She stuttered, “But Miss Bethany, aren't we going for the dinner party anymore? Remember, there will be a lot of popular and prominent figures at the event. d
Did you forget so suddenly?” She explained calmly as she wanted to get a reason from the horse's mouth.
“I call the shots here, remember? I'm going out to a different place now, and you're not allowed to come with me. Just go home and do as I said, otherwise you'll get me so mad that I won't tolerate your irrationality, is that clear? Now, get out and get a cab ”. She ordered while pushing the door open to push her out.
Both the assistant and the driver were shocked but Bethany maintained her stiff expression, and she immediately got into the driver seat and drove away without glancing at them for the second time.
Strange! what's up with her all of a sudden?
