“What should I do, mom? I'm tired of being sidelined all because of Danica How can make I change?” Brenda asked in a cold voice with her eyes fixed in a direction.
Upon hearing what Brenda said, a smile soon crept onto Matilda's face as she was glad that her daughter was finally something up for herself.
She has tried generally to make her husband, Freddie, see reasons why he needed to fight for his right as the second son of the family, but he was always staying in the shadows of his older brother and refused to heed to her words. At the end of the day, he amounted to nothing other than being a shadow boy for his brother.
Seeing that her daughter has refused to follow the same route as her husband did, Matilda couldn't help but allow the joy in her heart to reflect on her face as she couldn't stop smiling.
Brenda was taken aback when she didn't get a reply to her question, then she looked down to see her mother lost in her world right then.
“Mom, I'm still waiting for answers. What should I do? I can't tolerate all of these anymore” She urged with grievances in her tone.
“Shush, don't worry dear. Everything is going to be fine now that you've agreed to take a step up for yourself. Right now, you don't have to do much as Danica has already created an avenue for you to sell your brand”
Puzzled. Brenda asked, “What do you mean by that? How has she created an avenue for me?”.
Matilda took a few steps away from where Brenda was standing as she paced around for a while.
“Your dearest sister is currently facing a huge shut down on her career after getting her reputation tarnished, remember? Right now, no one wants to work or have anything to do with her, so in such a case, you're the only one who will be able to pull more than she can ever imagine doing, I mean she must be dying to stop you from achieving more than she has”.
“What you're saying is that I have to be a substitute for Danica once again? Mom! Do you even know how embarrassing it is walking in her shadows all the time?”
“No, that's not what I meant Brenda. You don't have to be a substitute when you can be the substance”.She took a few steps back once more and maintained her calm expression.“What I'm trying to say is that Danica is no longer in the market right now. So you have to steal the spotlight from her during this time before she could make her come back into the industry, you would have been miles a bead of her in the game”
“I think you're right, mom. Knowing how Danica is, I'm sure she's doing everything possible to get back the spotlight. Now that I just realized something, stealing the spotlight away from her would be a big blow in her face and she would be so hurt by it. I can't wait to see how she reacts when her dream brand makes me a member instead of her, it would be so awesome” Brenda said with dreamy eyes. Her tone was so firmly and filled with undiluted disgust.
“Of course, her mother, Samantha would be working behind closed doors wherever she is to make sure that Danica gets everything back, but we'll give her a shocker this time. Isn't that so? ”.
“Of course, we should. After all, she's my favorite in the whole world”.Brenda mocked with a sarcastic tone.
“Come to think of this, I'm beginning to think that she never loved Giselle instead she pretended to love and care for her all these years because of her money. I won't even be surprised if she had something to do with her death”.Matilda instigated as she seems lost in thought.
“ Mom! You should keep it down sometimes. What someone hears you talking about her like that? What do you want them to do to you?” Brenda was bewildered by her bold accusations.
“What? I know I'm not wrong about this matter, I just need to find proof against Samantha and her silly daughter, if that happens, no one will be able to save them from my wrath ever. Not even God can save them from my clutches”. Matilda threatened with a determined tone as she clutched her fists tightly.
“Mom, why do you sound so serious like you are very sure they are responsible for what had happened to Giselle. We all know what happened to her, right?”.
“Oh cut that crap, Brenda! I don't believe such cooked-up stories, could you be gullible to believe the half-baked stories circulated by the perpetrators of the evil deed? Yes, I'm sure, they had something to do with what happened to her. Can't you even think and consider all the factors that are so glaring and obvious to the naked eyes? Both mother and daughter have ulterior motives behind why they were so kind to her. I'm sure you don't need me to say it in plain words ”.
“But mom........”.
“I'm right about this!”.
“I know but they won't spare us either if they hear us talking like this. We should go out instead ”.
“Oh, I almost forgot that the devil's daughter lives here now”.
Matilda quickly covered her mouth with a palm upon realization.
She had suddenly forgotten about the existence of the mother and daughter, although the mother is not in the country right now that doesn't mean that she has no idea what is going on. If she learns that Matilda and her daughter have ganged up against them, she would make them visit hell in broad daylight.
This thought sent shivers of fear down the spine of both mother and daughter.
“You're so lazy and good for nothing! Why did I ever hire you in the first place?” Danica asked bitterly before throwing her phone across the room.
Her eyes were flushed with anger as she had just finished speaking with her assistant, Jane.
“How could that woman have decided to go out of the country for a vacation at a time like this? A difficult time that I needed her help to clear my name”
Danica paced around her room with her mind filled with different thoughts and her eyes reddish from anger.
“This is all that woman's fault and I'm going to make her suffer even in her grave”. She clutched her teeth tightly with her eyes filled with glaring anger.
With that, she stomped out of her room on her 10cm high heels.
“Get the car ready right now” She ordered while stepping down the stairs.
When she got to the living room, she suddenly rocked shoulders with Matilda, who was about to climb up the stairs at the time. Upon seeing her stepping down, she suddenly halted in her steps and figured out that Danica was not in a good mood at the moment.
She looked back at the younger woman disdainfully with her eyes filled with evidence of doubts.
Seeing that Danica was about to step away without saying anything, she quickly put on an act as she tried to provoke her.
“I hope someone around here is not going for an escapade that might ruin us all at the end of the day. I'm not ready to pay for the sins of others once more”.
When Danica heard these, she suddenly stopped walking as she turned back to the glare at Matilda angrily. However, she couldn't be bothered to exchange words with her as she was not in the mood to get pissed off by her.
Without saying a word, Danica walked out of the living room with her silence speaking volumes with every step she took.
Matilda was shocked at the nonchalant attitude of a rude woman like Danica. Then, she suddenly nurse the urge to know why she had ignored her insults and insisted on stepping out like that.
she was bewildered by this.
Danica would never ignore an insult from Matilda. Not talk more of walking out on her without putting up an argument.

After a thirty minutes driver, the car finally stopped in front of a giant gate with a building standing in the middle of the compound. Danica held the knob of the car's door and glanced around the entire place, checking out for any paparazzi that might try to take pictures of her, when she saw that there were nowhere to be seen at the moment. She quickly put on a hat–which had her face hidden under the big shade that it provides. with this hat on and the hoodie around her neck, it would be very difficult to decipher her identity, and most importantly not many people could tell if she was the one at the moment.
When she was sure that she had her covers secured, she hopped out of the car and scampered into the building in a swift movement.
However, a black cabie car, which was parked a few steps away from where her car was parked took quick notes of all that she did and even took a few pictures and videos.
Seeing that Danica had gone into the building, the woman smirked.
“So, you were coming here at this time all along, Danica. Why hide under the veil like this? You must be missing something from me and I won't give you the joy of having a harmonious life”
Matilda lifted the hoodie she was wearing as she revealed her face laced with doubts.
“You're acting all creepy which means I was right all along. You're hiding something from all of us and I won't stop until I find out what it is you are hiding from me. With me here, you sure are going to have a difficult time hiding things around as you did five years ago”
“Miss, should I go any further? ” The driver suddenly cut through her thoughts and she quickly jerked around.
Noticing that Danica had gone into the building while she was stuck in her daze, she quickly made attempts to step down.
I need to follow her.
“Don't go any further. Just park here and take your money, just go back first” She instructed as she handed him the money.
“Ma'am, I don't have change for a thousand dollars ”.
“Just keep the change ” Matilda quickly stepped out of the car and rushed off.
