Zayn raised his chin and said, "Of course. The purchasing department has some information on cloth suppliers. You can go and check out some potential suppliers.”
"Understood. I'll go over now." Bethany nodded.
After Bethany left, Zayn called Gael in a coldly ordered, "Announce that we will cease to have any business dealings with the Downey family."
"Yes Sir!" Gael was shocked but he did as he was ordered.
Very soon, the Downey family's cloth material factory received the notice of contract termination from the Blue Ridge Group.
Within a short time, the Downey family stock stopped trading on the stock exchange. Mr. Downey was puzzled and quickly contacted zayn to find out the reason for the decision.
Zayn just replied, "Ask your granddaughter”, and then he hung up the call.
Mr. Downey did not know that his granddaughter had offended Zayn. He quickly ordered the steward to find out what Helena did that day.
The steward was very effective and very quickly found out the details. Mr. Downey was furious and ordered Helena to be locked up. He then gave Bethany a call.
Bethany was not surprised to receive his call. She expected him to call her when she decided not to use the Downey family's clothes.
"Mr. Downey," Bethany answered respectfully.
Mr. Downey said apologetically, "Bethany dear, I already found out what happened at the factory. I'm truly sorry. My granddaughter is spoiled."
Bethany drooped her eyes and replied, "I thought that Mr.Downey called to lecture me.”
Mr. Downey chuckled and said, "Why should I lecture you? Although I'm old, I can still differentiate right from wrong. if this happened to me, I also would not want the cloth. You were right and so was Zayn. It was my granddaughter who was wrong.”
“Then concerning the contract... ” Bethany asked. “So be it. That would be the price of Helena's lesson. it's also time for her to realize that her words and actions could bring disaster to the family,"
Mr. Downey sighed as he said. Bethany could hear from his tone that he loved his granddaughter and felt touched, With such a caring grandfather, it was no wonder that Helena was spoiled.
Bethany kept her phone after the call and the purchasing department manager brought over a file to her and said, "Ms.this, thesis the information that l had prepared on the cloth manufacturers in Rave city. Please have a look.”
“Okay, thanks." Bethany smiled as she took over the file. She read the contents and then selected three manufacturers.
She decided to make another trip to determine the material. After all, her design was completed and she should not let the choice of material delay any further or it may affect the season launch.
Bethany closed the folder and left the purchasing department.
It was five o'clock in the afternoon after Bethany visited the three cloth manufacturers. She stood by the road to wait for a taxi but there were none.
She had planned to return to the city within an hour to pick up her Vella from the college but it was very unlikely now. Without any other options, Bethany could only request that the teacher send her home.
Bethany arrived at her apartment two hours later. She opened the door, changed her shoes, and then called out for her. There was no answer.
Bethany was puzzled and frowned. Where was she? The girl would normally run out to greet her whenever she came back.
"Vella?" Bethany called out again as she went in to look for her. The rooms were dark and did not look like there was anyone inside.
She started to panic as she turned on the room lights and searched but there was no one the little girl was missing!
When she thought of this possibility, her heart sank and she suddenly became dizzy and almost fainted.
She quickly took a deep breath and forced upon getting to the room, she switched on the lights and was flabbergasted when she couldn't find the person, who was supposed to wait for her at the condominium.
She quickly dropped her bag on the table and dialed Erica's number.
“Hello, Erica? I can't find Vella. where. I have asked the teacher to send her home earlier and now she's not here!” Bethany sounded very worried.
“oh, baby girl! Since when did you start worrying too much about a missing person?” Erica asked sarcastically as she picked up some chips and stuff them into her mouth.
“This is not the time for your nonsense. I'm going to call the police department and have them search for Vella”.
“Oh, girl! Nothing has happened to the poor little girl, she's right here with me. Safe and sound, to be honest with you, you are working for no reason since the villain you are looking for is right here having fun with Jenna”.
Upon hearing this, Bethany finally heaved a sigh of relief, and her hand which was operating on her other phone in an attempt to call the police was held in the air.
“Why didn't she come over to my place instead? I had asked that she should be brought home”.
“Well, I know that but your place can't be safe to the keeper, you know. So, I asked the teachers to bring her here and she was even excited to come here as well”.
“That's fine, then. Just keep her safe at your place and don't let her out of your sight”.
Bethany said before dropping the call.
The thought of the little girl going missing was a big fiasco in her chest. She couldn't allow the little girl to go away from her sight after the promise she made.
She's a person oword word and she won't fail a ! ther!.
Bethany was about to go upstairs when she suddenly heard the doorbell ring. She was stunned at this.
Who would come looking for her at this hour? Jeffrey!?
No, it can't be him.
She didn't have enough time to contemplate, so she quickly went over and opened the door.
She was shocked when she saw Zayn standing in front of the door with a small package in his hands.
“Mr. Meyer, why are you here at this time?” She asked while looking at him disdainfully.
“You don't need to say that. What about you? Why did you come back at such a late hour?” Zayn looked up and a tinge of annoyance appeared in his voice.
Bethany couldn't fathom what Zayn was thinking, so she smiled and explained, "I have gone to visit three cloth manufacturers in the afternoon. That's why I came back late."
Upon hearing that, Zayn pursed his lips, "You should just let the purchasing department handle that. There's no need for you to run these tasks yourself."
"I don't mind it. The Oceania project is very important to me. If l didn't keep a close eye on every procedure, I am afraid that something may go wrong”.Bethany raised her hand and combed some messy strands of hair behind her ear.
Zayn's eyes jumped a little and his eyes darkened.
“If that is so?, Then you should pay more attention to yourself as well. Don't get overwhelmed by work” Zayn said as he looked around.
“I won't get overwhelmed. Thank you, Mr. Meyer.”
“Oh, I brought this for you,” He said as he handed over a bag to her.“I thought it was a bit too late for you to make anything for dinner, so I got some dinner from the restaurant on my way home from work ”.
“Oh! That's so kind of you, thank you very much, Mr. Meyer”.Bethany said as she took the bag.
Bethany went to work as usual the next day. She went to the purchasing department and picked up the information provided by the three Suppliers. She ensured that there were no major issues before heading to the director's office.
“Come in!” Zayn said when he heard the knocks on the door.
Bethany entered and greeted, "Mr. Meyer.
On hearing her voice, Zayn paused, placed down his pen, and looked coldly at her before asking, "What's the matter?
