Shocked!
Danica was shocked for a couple of seconds as her head was left hanging in the air after hearing what the young woman had said to her. It's a good thing Erica's voice was lowered, so other people didn't hear what she said.
She couldn't understand how this woman who she has never met before could come to know about her most pressing need?
how did she come to know about this? Only mom and I know about this matter.
After hesitating for a couple of minutes, Danica smiled faintly before taking the business card from her hand.
“Miss Quest, we should get going now. The event is still on”.
After saying the word, Bethany snuck herself out of the crowd, meandering after Erica.
Meanwhile, Zayn just arrived at the event hall when his gaze fell on a group of people causing a cacophony some distance away from where he was.
He was reluctant about checking out what was happening, however, when his eyes fell on the figure of the young woman who he had recognized as the woman who saved him, he went ahead to check it out.
He saw that the woman was being accused of stealing a diamond necklace; what's more, they didn't have evidence, to begin with, he was angry when he saw that she was being accused on the basis that another necklace was found in her possession and they didn't think that she was capable of owning one.
Exacerbated, Zayn took a few steps forward to go and say a few words in her defense. Nevertheless, just as he took a step, he raised his knitted brows and saw that a woman had come to her side instead.
He watched as the woman berated them all and they ended up hanging their heads in shame when they learned that, Bethany didn't steal anything, instead she was asked to present jewelry as a gift.

After seeing the departing silhouettes of both women coming toward his direction, Zayn quickly turned around and moved back to his seat.
As the party was getting livelier after the incident, Mr. Downey finally came out to greet the guests, and as soon as he saw Bethany standing aside in the corners, while Erica was nowhere to be seen. He went over and invites her to his private lounge along with Zayn.
When Danica saw the scene, she was enraged. She didn't want to see the both of them together, and now her plans have been ruined; all because of her silly actions.
After taking a deep look at Bethany, Danica turned around and left the banquet earlier without greeting anyone.
Meanwhile, Mr. Downey took Erica and Zayn along with Bethany to his private lounge for a discussion.
On getting to the lounge, Erica quickly unwrapped a gift and handed it over to Mr. Downey.“Mr. Downey, this is a gift I believe will suit your taste. Happy Birthday, hope you like your gift”
Erica said courteously while handing the gift over to him with a smile on her face.
