Jeffrey smiled after thinking about this matter.
“You are going to be mine, Bethany”.
During the day, Ms. Sue was taking care of her and cooking her various soups to supplement nutrition for her. She managed to replenish her health and thanks to the care of Ms. Sue and Mr. Meyer, Bethany gets recovered quickly, but still, she could only walk down.
“Ms. Sue, you should hand me Mr. Phone Number, I would like to give him a call and inform him that I would be returning home later in case I won't be around when he comes back ”. After Bethany finished taking her medicines, she suddenly say to Ms. sue, who was cutting fruits for her.
Ms. Sue's movements stopped and glanced at Bethany."Lady Bethany, haven't you given up yet?" Ms. Sue handed the apple to Bethany and sighed. "Since the young master doesn't want you to return to work now, he must have his intentions, so don't offend him and stay a little longer to recuperate please.”
After such a long-lasting fight with Ms. Sue for wisdom, Bethany was not awakened at all when her intention was obvious to Ms. Sue, did not feel embarrassed, either.
Bethany did not take the apple. She said capriciously, "Ms. Sue, I don't like apples."
“No, You must have it, young master has specifically mentioned for you to have an apple daily. It is good for you." Ms. Sue looked at her firmly.
Bethany felt helpless.
She did not know that Mr. Meyer had such a considerate side too; he was overbearing and possessive. Even for this trivial thing like eating an apple every day, he also ordered Ms. Sue to make sure Bethany have done it every day.
"Ok."
After taking the apple, she slowly walked from the dining room to the sofa and sat down. Ms. Sue went to work.
Bethany sat on the sofa, suddenly feeling like sitting on something. She reached out, it was a purse. As she was preparing to give the purse to Ms. Sue, she suddenly noticed that there was a picture in the opened wallet.
As she was about to open the wallet to have a look at the old photo in the wallet since she felt that the slight frame looked familiar.
As she was thinking about it, Ms. Sue suddenly walked over and saw that Bethany was holding her purse.
She panicked and took her purse back." Lady Bethany, this is mine." she looked at Bethany with a wary look.
"I just saw this purse on the sofa, and I was already intending to return it to you."
"It's fine; I'm going to prepare lunch for Lady Bethany, now." Ms. Sue carefully placed her purse, in her underarm and then hurried to the kitchen.
Bethany ate the apple absentmindedly.
how come I didn't know that miss Sue had a child?.
In the meantime, Bethany took a wall around the house with the help of Ms. Sue. She was comfortable with the environment and it felt like she never left. However, she has another plan for this place.
She had a conflicted expression while looking at the cherries in the garden. it seems like Ms. Sue took good care of the garden as everything and all the fruits in the garden seem to have blossomed big flowery plants.
“The young master took care of the garden after Miss Giselle's passing. He loved the garden even though he was never a great fan of gardening ” Ms. Sue said from the side after seeing how engrossed Bethany was while looking at the garden area.
“He did a good job I must say. I had thought a professional garden worked on this garden, I didn't know Mr. Meyer has so much time to take care of a garden like this.” Bethany commented in a sarcastic tone.
“He doesn't have much time on his hands but in the last few months he came back to look after the plants because he knew that Miss Giselle loved them”
“Oh! He must have loved his wife so much to care about her likes and dislikes this much” Bethany commented wearing an obnoxious expression with her face turned to the side.
Hearing this, Ms. Sue didn't know what answer to give the curious woman so she merely smiled with her face turned around as well.
Bethany noticed this awkward attitude of hers. So, she felt that asking more questions would put the woman in a difficult position so she decided to keep quiet as she continues to through the garden.
In the afternoon, Mr. Meyer returned earlier than yesterday."Why did you come back so early today?" Bethany looked at Mr. Meyer in surprise.
Before Mr. Meyer returned, Ms. Sue had already left for the bedroom to help her pack up her stuff, leaving only them in the living room.
“Shouldn't I return to my own house after work? Did you not want to see me? ” He asked in a cold voice while looking at her disdainfully.
oh no! it's almost time for the zoom meeting if I don't leave now, I'll miss the opportunity. I can't let this happen.
"What are you thinking?" Mr. Meyer saw that Bethany did not reply and was absent-minded. He pinched her chin with dissatisfaction and forced her to look at him.
"What is on your mind, where are you lost right now?.” Bethany regained her sense, tightly seized Mr. Meyer's sleeve like a pleading child, and suddenly asked, "Mr. Meyer, can you please take me back home now?”
When he didn't answer, Bethany further said, “I feel like my body has recovered. I'm going back to the company."
“Why don't you take a rest for a few more days." Zayn said concernedly, "Even if you don't work, it doesn't matter. I'll raise you the project day for you"
“No." Bethany immediately refused, she said, "I want to have to take care of a career of my own that I have just started. I don't want anyone to support me like this and make things difficult for others"Seeing Bethany was very determined. Zayn did not refute her further and said, "Since you've already decided, then I'll respect your choice.
"Although I promised to let you go back to the company, you must take good care of your body. Otherwise, I'll immediately take you back from the company and continue to rest for half a year before you can go back to work." Mr.Meyer tone was autocratic. Bethany could sense the seriousness of his tone.
“Okay, I remember everything you said today." Bethany nodded solemnly.She had her own judgment. She knew that Zayn was not for her interest instead she felt that he was fighting for what he needed–Oceania.
“Where do you live?” Zayn asked after he put on his seat belt in the car.
“Orange gardens” Bethany replied while looking straight u at the seat belt she was trying to fix.
Immediately he
heard the address, Zayn raised his head in slight surprise.
“What a coincidence” He mumbled.
Zayn owned an apartment in this colony and it was in the same building, based on the address that Bethany had given him. What's more, they live in the building and on the same floor.
“What's wrong, Mr. Meyer?” When Bethany saw him lost in thought and not saying anything, she couldn't help but call out to him.
“It's nothing, I'm fine” Zayn waved her aside as he blinked his eyes before starting the car.
Bethany simply shrugged her shoulders as she didn't seem to pay attention to him anymore.
Along the way, Bethany, who seems tired after staying at a place for so long, soon fell asleep in the car.
Age turned her face to the side and looked out the window while putting a hand over her face as she slept.
Zayn didn't know whether she was asleep or not as she didn't make it possible for him to have a clear view of her face–she seemed very tired and needed to rest more to regain her strength.
The truth is, Bethany has not had a good night's sleep since she started staying back at the blue ridge manor.
Staying at the manor was a return to hell for her as it reminded her of all the pains she had to pass through because of them. That is why she was constantly bugged by nightmares, so she ended up not having enough sleep during her stay at the house. What's worse, she had to sleep on the same bed that Zayn must have slept with Danica.
What a horrible feeling it was for her.
Suddenly, at that moment, the phone in Bethany's bag vibrated.
Feeling this vibration, Bethany raised her brows slightly and knead her eyes carefully before taking the phone out of her bag.
Looking at the screen, she noticed that it was a text.
“Have you gone back already? ” The text says.
