“Bethany, do you and Miss Joanna have a grudge?”.
Hearing this, the smile on Bethany's face suddenly faded.“It's not a grudge, I think we just had some feuds due to differences. Why do you suddenly ask about this matter?”.
“It's nothing. I'm just being curious. After all, you were picked on by Miss Joanna as soon as you step a foot into the company, not only that she also picked on you when you came around today as well. So, I wanted to ask” Ella replied.
Bethany didn't suspect anything as she bent her head and continue reading the information on her laptop.
At this point, a colleague suddenly exclaimed out of the blues, “Holy shit! Our president is having an illegitimate affair with another woman!”.
“What? What woman!?
“Where is she?”
“Who is she?
Immediately, the people in the entire big office became excited as they left their jobs undone.
Everyone ran to the cabinet of the colleague, who had raised the alarm. Bethany was the only one sitting on her counter as she wasn't the type that go gossiping leaving her job. She didn't participate in the cacophonous conversations.
“Mr. Zayn has a mistress? ”.
“How is it possible?”
Although Bethany didn't care about him and she wasn't here to care about him in the first place, intuitively she felt that Zayn wasn't the person of a man to go jogging after other women like this. He wasn't the type to do something of this kind. It must be the media, who had made a rumor of this matter to attract the people's attention.
Thinking of this, Bethany merely shook her head in amusement.
Although she was not interested in Zayn's matters at all, the colleague's words went uncontrollably into her ears and she unintentionally caught a few words.
“The woman that was being carried, got in the car...”
Why does it sound so familiar after putting all the pieces together?
“Could it be that....” The expression on Bethany's face instantly changed.
She quickly minimized the current window, clicked on the browsers to search for the woman that Zayn was having an affair with.
Many random results popped up almost immediately.
She randomly clicked on one of the results as her eyes immediately fell on a blurry picture.
Looking at the person in the picture, she realized that it was her all along, Bethany let go of the mouse and covered her face.

although the pictures are blurry and others couldn't recognize me. I'm very sure Joanna and Danica wouldn't miss this chance at all. Danica is Zayn's fiance, she won't let this go so easily.

“The situation has become complicated now!?”.
“What are all these noises about?” As she was lost in her thoughts, Joanna's voice suddenly sounded from the entrance of the big office.
“Miss Joanna, quickly come and have a look at this !”.
“The president is having an illegitimate affair with some random woman”.
When one of the female colleagues saw Joanna approaching, she immediately waved.
Hearing that word 'illegitimate affairs'
Joanna's heart leaped to her throat as she roared out, “What nonsense are you spitting? Since when does Zayn keep so many women?”
She sounded like she was concerned about zayn's reputation as she smiled at them pretentiously.
“It's not nonsense, Miss Joanna, it's written in the news right here” The female colleague answered with a look of grievance on her face.
“It's a rumor. It must be one of those fabricated stories” Joanna walked toward him furiously. However, she looked very anxious.
When Joanna was close to the female colleague, she pointed to the photo on the computer screen, saying, “Miss Joanna, look at this....”
Seeing this, Joanna's eyes widened in shock.
She knew the people in the photo and they were none other than Zayn and Bethany.
It was the same photo that the man had sent to her that night. How come it's on the internet all of a sudden?.
However, she didn't understand what Zayn was going with Bethany that night. She also knew why Zayn was carrying Bethany in his arms.
Her only fear was the fact that Danica was going to blame her if anything happens to the relationship between her and Zayn since she was the one who had sent the picture to her that night.

“Why would Zayn be carrying Bethany in his arms and taking her to the car?”.
Many doubts popped up and made Joanna suffocate. She quickly took a screenshot of the photo as her eyes were glowing with undiluted anger.
Then, she walked up to Bethany and threw the photo at her, “I want you to explain to me what this is all about”.
Everyone was confused at this scene.
“What is going on here!
“Why is she blaming her instead?”.
“What else can the situation be? Miss Joanna took the photo over to question Bethany. Obviously, it's simply meant that the person in the photo is Bethany”.
“Wait! What? Miss Bethany had an affair with our president?”.
“Shut up everyone!! Don't you all dare say anything else”.
Bethany knew that Danica was going to react this way if she ended up designing these photos. However, she hadn't imagined that she would come to a point like this where Joanna would be reacting this way as well.
Bethany was groaning from the headache of listening to them all day long, she sigh.“This is a misunderstanding and I can explain ”.
“Misunderstanding?” Joanna sneered, “You we're lying in my brother's arms, Danica's fiance's arms and you are calling that a misunderstanding?”.
“This is a misunderstanding. The thing is,”. Bethany noticed that Joanna's eyes getting dark as she tried to explain what had happened that night. However, seeing how Joanna was not ready to hear of any of that, she became suspicious.
Joanna didn't seem to believe her, so she dug her nails into her palms“Enough Bethany! Do you think I'll believe just about anything you say? Such silly excuses? The department store is so huge yet you only ran into Zayn. Bethany, are you scheming something? Have you come after Zayn on purpose ?”.
Upon hearing that, the expression on Bethany's face quickly changed as she laughed abruptly.
Joanna felt uncomfortable by the laughter. Due to that, she quickly raised the pitch of her voice and asked, “What are you laughing at? Have you done something so great that we should laugh with you? You are such a homewrecker, do t you have any sympathy of a little kid?”.
“I'm laughing because you are so imaginative. Your reasonings were not bad, but I would still say that it was just a misunderstanding. If you don't believe me, feel free to ask Mr. Meyer about it. After all, you are his most caring sister. Then, you will know if I'm lying or cooking up a scheme
After that, Bethany put out her hand, signaling Joanna to go up to Zayn.
As she was being honest, the people in the office started to believe what Bethany was saying.
Joanna was very angry, however, she was still rational.
The look in Bethany's eyes was clear and there was no hint of fear in them. She knew that nothing happened between Bethany and Zayn.
But she still didn't want to resign yo this. She clenched her fists tightly as she didn't succeed in pinning the blames on her.
Suddenly, the female from earlier said in a loud voice, “Miss Meyer, the president has released a statement regarding the matter”.
“What!? ” Joanna was taken as she simply dashed over without looking back at Bethany. she walked over to the female colleague.
Bethany also went along.
She wanted to know what kind of statement, Zayn had released about the scandal.
They were in front of the female colleague's monitor. Bethany looked in the direction in which her finger was pointing at.
Zayn had never updated his Twitter account. However, this time, there was a new tweet.
“She isn't my lover! My subordinate got hurt and I was sending her home”.
There were also two videos from the surveillance attached to the tweet.
The first video showed that the lights at the department store were dimmed and Bethany soon appeared.
The second showed that Bethany was being attacked by some men.
The videos and Zayn's short explanation were enough proof to convenience everyone that this was just a misunderstanding.
Bethany wasn't a lover! like the news had insinuated.
As far as everyone knows Zayn, doesn't give time to explain his actions to the other, but this time he did!.
“So, Miss Joanna, do you still have anything to say about this?” Bethany asked with a sneaky smile on her face.
Hearing this question, Joanna's face changed drastically. She looked horrible.
She already knew that it was a misunderstanding. But she wanted to push the agenda. She wouldn't be in the wrong if she manage to use the misunderstanding to incriminate Bethany.
But, she didn't think that Zayn would make a statement to clarify things this quick.
Her plans were ruined immediately. She was furious!.
“I have nothing to say. Even so, you caused the scandal to happen. I'm not going to let you off so easily. Just you wait and see!!”.
Joanna glared coldly at Bethany–Her eyes were filled with hatred. After scrutinizing Bethany fit a few seconds, she walked away in her high heels with a gloomy expression plastered on her face.
Bethany was relieved. However, she was tense.
She realize now that Joanna would always target her more in the future–She wasn't scared of the fact that Joanna would pull some silly trucks against her but she was more worried about her plans for her instead.
After Joanna left the colleagues Bethany with inquisitive gazes.
“Why were those men after you? ”
“Did you get hurt?”.
“hope you didn't sustain much injury after you were attacked like that?”
“The paparazzi simply wrote nonsense to tarnish your name while leaving the true matter behind”.
“Don't worry everyone. I'm fine as you can see with your own eyes, it's just a simple injury, I'll be fine in no time”
Bethany replied with a smile as she dismissed them. After that, Bethany refused to say anything else.
In the afternoon, Bethany turned off the computer and was about to head home.
As she walked out of the building, a big car suddenly stopped in front of her.
The person inside the car rolled down the window of the car, it was Zayn. he was wearing glasses, “Get in”.
Bethany looked around and there wasn't anyone else. Then, she pointed to herself hesitantly, “Who, me?”.
Zayn grunted and said, “I'll send you home”.
Bethany quickly waved her hand, “there is no need for that, Mr. Meyer. Someone will come to pick me up”.
What was he thinking? Offering to send her home once more.
Just as they were talking, a black car soon arrived and parked right behind Zayn's car.
Bethany raised her head and immediately recognized the person.
“It looks like my ride has just arrived. Thank you very much, Mr. Meyer”.
“Oh is that so? You should go ahead then, don't put pressure on your leg”
He said as Bethany took a few steps toward the car that was parked waiting for her at the other end.
Seeing Bethany leaving, the expressions on Zayn's face turned dark.
