“Yes” Bethany hesitated before replying.“That's why I need your help with this, Jenna” Bethany looked at her cute face through the screen.
However, as she looked at her, her eyes became more complicated at this point.
She had the intention of involving the little girl but she is the only one who can find out, who was responsible for everything within a short time.
“Alright, I'll find the person, who bullied you, Miss Burnett. I won't let them get away with this”. Jenna clenched her fists and gritted her teeth as she said with a look of determination in her eyes.
Hearing this, Bethany blew her a flying kiss.
Jenna simply looked at her with a solemn gaze.
Just as silence ensued between them, Erica walked into the room carrying a glass of milk and snacks.
“Jenna, here are your snacks. Have a bite” Erica said as she walked into the room.
Jenna looked in her direction without saying a word, then she stared back at the phone. Then, she kept the phone on the bed and went to the closet to get her laptop computer.
“What are you doing, baby? Aren't you going to have something to eat?” Erica asked. But she didn't get any reply which got her even more worried.
After sitting down, Jenna raised the phone to her face and said.
“Miss Burnett, I'll find out soon. Don't worry”
When she said these words, it now dawned on Erica that she was actually on a video call.
“Is that Bethany? Let me talk to her” Erica quickly dropped the tray of food in front of Jenna and rushed over to take the phone.
She walked a few steps away from where Jenna was before saying anything.
“Bethany, did you run into some troubles? Why have you asked Jenna to help you out?”
“Someone stole my designs”.
“What? How did that happen?”
“I have no idea how it happened and who did it. That's why I asked Jenna to help find out, who it was that did it”.
“Bethany, I can't believe someone fooled you in your games. What will you do if the design is not found? We don't have enough time to come up with a new one, do we?”.
“It will be found, just a little more and that's it”.
“Are you sure about this? ” Erica sounded worried as her time of voice is now very calm.
Seeing the worried expression on her face. Bethany nodded her head to assure of her certainty.
“Alright, I'll go watch over Jenna and let you know when she finds out anything”.
“Sure, go ahead”.
With that, she disconnected the call and went back to the room.
Jenna was sitting in front of the computer and was tapping the keyboard with seriousness.
Erica entered the room but did not disturb her. after class of milk gentlyccloseddde to the computer, she went to stand behind Jenna and looked at the computer screen along with her.
The computer screen showed a mass and variety of numbers and letters. The screen was constantly changing with flashing lights, it was a dazzled sight to behold.
Although Erica could not understand it, she could not withhold her curiosity. She was so happy and proud of the little girl in front of her that she could not contain her joy.
A year ago, Bethany took the little girl to Morales's house to visit him. The youngest son of Morales found out that Jenna had a talent, so he taught Jenna the knowledge of hacking.
Within six months, Jenna became a top hacker.
However, Bethany was worried that people might get Jenna to do the wrong things since she was still very young to understand things like this. So, Bethany had not allowed Jenna to make use of the hacking techniques.
While Erica was lost in a daze, Jenna stopped her movement and said with a solemn face.“Aunty, I found out there are traces that someone has edited and added something to the surveillance of the company”.
“What, I should call Bethany”.
Within a second, the call was connected.
“Sure enough. I knew something was wrong ” Bethany commented after hearing what Erica said.
She knew very well that her design wouldn't just disappear if no one had come to get the station. There must be a problem with the surveillance.
“Jen, can you restore the original video,” Bethany asked through the phone.
Jenna put down the glass of milk in her hand, licked the milk stain around her lips, and replied very confidently, “of course mommy, it's time to yell a fruit”.
After saying that, she put her hand on the keyboard and tapped it again. Howe's tapping speed was so fast that there was residual ghosting.
After two minutes, Jenna pressed on the enter key, “Done!”.
Erica hurriedly went over to the computer and turned it toward the phone to allow Bethany to have a good look at it.
She widen her eyes incredulously after she finished watching the video, “So it was her!?”
“Miss Burnett, who's she? ” Jenna pointed at the woman in the video and asked in a solemn tone.
Bethany closed her eyes somewhat sadly, and after opening her eyes, there was only indifference left in her eyes, “She my colleague, and also my senior at work. She usually takes good care of me in the past. I didn't expect that she could do something like this”.
“Isn't she your senior? What about the designs that she drew?” Jenna was curious.
Bethany did not know why the little girl asked her this question, but she still went ahead and answered it, “Sincerely speaking, her designs are just average. otherwise, she would have been the head of the designing team at this point”.
“Then, I guess I know why she did it. She must be jealous of you, mommy. You are such an excellent designer mommy, that people would be forced to get jealous of you. After all, people will not be jealous of someone mediocre” Jenna shook her little head as she said.
Hearing her words, Bethany was a bit happy.
Bethany smiled and was about to say something when her phone suddenly rang, and it was a call from the detective agency, “Miss Burnett, the result of the assay that you asked to be performed is out now. unfortunately, we couldn't find any other fingerprints on the computer and mouse, except yours”.
“Thank you so much, I already know the answers” Bethany took a look at the surveillance video and replied.
She has just seen what the person who took her design away was wearing in the video.
Although there were no fingerprints left on the computer and mouse, the video from the surveillance camera was enough evidence to have the culprit punished.
After Bethany finished with the call, she quickly hung up and turned back to look at Erica before saying, “You have a spare USB flash drive with you, right?”.
Erica nodded.
“Have Jenna transferred the file into the drive right now”
With that, Jenna soon began transferring into the flash drive.
“It's done!”
Erica announced excitedly after seeing the 'success' pop up on the screen after the file was successfully transferred to the drive.
“'I'll come to get it”.
“Jenna you should have your meal now, I'll go talk to mommy for a while”.
“Alright”.
Erica stepped out of the room and stood by the door before slowly pushing the door closed behind. With her hand still lingering on the doorknob, Erica asked in a solemn tone, “What do you plan to do, Bethany?”
“What else should I? She deserves to be punished for her wrongs right?” She said in a cold voice.“She was only pretending to be good to me in the past, and now it's all over”.
“I have a feeling she isn't behind all of this”.
“Since when did you start having gutted feelings? Even if she wasn't responsible. However, she allowed herself to sold out”.
“Bethany.....”
“I had underestimated that woman too much!” Bethany gritted as she said.
Bethany went to Zayn's office with the USB flash drive the next morning, “Mr. Meyer, I have come to know who had stolen my designs”.
“So fast?” Zayn raised his brows.
Bethany nodded and put the flash drive in front of him, “This flash drive has the surveillance video of the office in it. I found out that the one we had watched in the surveillance room yesterday was edited and added by someone. I'm holding the original version of the surveillance video. So, Mr. Meyer, I would like to invite you to come with me to the design department ”.
“Even without you asking, 'm supposed to do so. My employees made a mistake, and I should intervene in this.” Zayn straightened himself and stood up from behind the tables.
Bethany smiled gracefully and went out of the office with him trailing behind.
The elevator arrived.
Bethany took a step forward, but because of her hasty pace, her toe hit the doorway at the bottom of the elevator, and she lost her balance and fell forward.
Zayn's expression became solemn when he saw this, and he subconsciously reached out his hand to pull her up.
However, he did not pull her up properly and fell to the floor along with her–They both fell to the floor together.
The two fell into the elevator together, and the elevator door closed at the same time.
