“It looks like the young master has suffered a burn, Miss Danica. ” The assistant said from behind as she came close to the little boy, observing the huge scar on his neck.
“What? How did that happen to my son? I told you to keep him away from the sea, didn't I? He's seasick! ” Danica sounded agitated as she looked at the scar.
"What else are you waiting for? Go get the ointments already”
She shouted, and the assistant rushed immediately. She was even confused as to what she was supposed to do at that moment.
After the assistant left, the rest of the people soon started to disperse one after the other.
In a little while, Erica was left with Danica and the little boy.
Just then, Danica stood up from the floor and her eyes suddenly fell on the woman–She looked flabbergasted at the sight of the own standing before her with her hands wrapped around her waist.
The look on the woman's face was not welcoming at all as it seems like she was extremely angry as heavy smoke popped out from her nostrils.
Seeing this Danica put on a sweet smile as she greet her.
“Hi, Miss Burnett! Thank you for saving my son. It's such a pleasant coincidence that you are here in the Maldives as well. God knows what would have happened to my child if you weren't here. Thank you ” She said looking down at her son.
Erica was so furious that her voice has become hoarse. She moved forward and stood in front of her with her hands still wrapped around her waist.“What kind of a mother are you? You are so careless that I can't imagine what more you can. You left a child all alone in an unknown city like this. How would you explain things if he hadn't been found today?” Erica was so ferocious with her words that Danica was forced to look down at her feet to avoid eye contact with her.

“why wasn't I aware of this before ?” asked Danica looked again.
Erica almost went furious. Danica Medina, what kind of Mother are you? You’ve brought Jordan out for a vacation, but why can’t you pay more attention to him and take care of him? Don’t you know he was sunburned?”
Danica’s expression slightly changed. “Let me have a look.”
“Of course.”
As she spoke, Erica subconsciously made a way to let her have her way into the space while moving aside. However, she didn’t notice that the woman had a slyness flashing through her eyes when she enclosed it.
Of course, you can scold me all you want this time but when I finally regain my position as the queen then you will see what more I'm capable of doing.
“I know it's all my fault and you have every right to scold me for this. But, I still want to thank you for saving my son just now. I'll forever remain indebted to you” Danica said as she moved close to Erica and took her hands into hers while looking into her eyes directly.
She looks so pitiful that anyone who uses her at this moment would fall for her acting easily.
Erica was almost moved by her expression but she quickly readjusted her stands as she remembered that the young woman was putting on a charade to trap her in her web–She might as well pretend to have fallen for this since she would have to comply at any point in the future.
She raised her brows and looked at the woman with her hands still tucked in hers.
“You don't have to apologize to me. He's your child, I was just worried that something would happen to him since he was left all alone roaming the entire place in tears” She patted the back of her hand and said.“I know how temperamental your husband can be. So, u was just scared for you”
Erica said in a low, concerned-filled tone that sent several goosebumps to her skin.
She blushed upon hearing her words.
Erica could see how happy she was hearing her speak like that, so she decided to employ speaking well about her and calling Zayn her husband as her next weapon.
“Thank you so much, Miss Burnett ”
“You don't have to thank me for all of this, Miss Medina, you're embarrassing me by repeatedly thanking me. I'm a mother too, so I understand how it feels when your child goes missing” Erica sounded casual as she took her hand back from her grip.
“I was thinking, I don't know if you will be okay with this but I would like to invite you to lunch. I need to make it up to you” She said courteously.
Erica raised her wristwatch to her face to check the time, then she looked at her with a smile. “Sure, I should have some time left on my hand tonight. That's if my daughter would allow me ” She joked around and Danica found it funny.
She let out a dry laugh at her words.
“How about we talk over a cup of coffee? sounds great, right?” Danica asked. Her eyes glinting with expectations.
Erica wanted to refuse by knowing that she needed to get close to her and help her out with the designs, she decided to accept her offer.
“Sure, I was headed to the cafe before ”.
Just then, the assistant arrived with the ointment.
Danica quickly rooks the ointment from her and squats down to apply it on the little boy. But she was doing it wrong, due to that, the little boy was whining in pain. Seeing this situation, Erica moved close to Danica and asked for the ointment instead.
She bent down while applying the ointment on him when the expression on Danica's face suddenly into a vicious smear.
She looked like someone was trying to take her spot, so she was angry. even though she didn't want to do anything as dirty as cleaning up a child but she wanted to use this opportunity to save face in society.
Seeing Erica turn around, she quickly changed the expression on her face as she looked so pleasant to the eyes.
Erica felt another surge of anger rise in her chest.
“Why didn't you go out earlier? She asked looking at her.
“I’m not interested. Secondly, the sunlight was too strong.”
“Ho!” Erica was completely speechless. “You know the sunlight was too strong, but why did you let Jordan play under it?”
She just felt that Danica was a careless mother who could at least be able to take care of her son.
Seeing that Erica kept scolding Danica, Jordan tugged her sleeve and showed her the thin line on his tummy.
“I’m starved.”
Only then did Erica return to her senses.
She frowned and said, “Jordan is hungry. As his mother, you don’t know. You are too engaged with your work. Isn’t your son more important than your work?”.
“I understand what you said. Just now I was ordering food downstairs, but...” Danica's eyes were darkened, her gaze falling on Erica. “Just in a blink of an eye, Jordan was missing.”
Erica heard that and her heart tightened. She gaped at her and realized what she had done just now.
If Danica was indeed downstairs just now and she didn’t take away Jordan, the hotel staff would take care of the boy and send him back to Danica. However, she decided by herself and took the little boy away with her, so it made Danica look for her son for a while.
Recalling her attitude just now, Erica felt her heart jump out of her cheesy
Realizing that she was going overboard, Erica quickly looked at Danica before apologizing in a gentle voice.
“I'm so, Miss Danica, I was just carried away by the pain in his eyes. We should go have some food, Jordan seems to be very hungry as it”.
Danica smiled.“It's okay. I understand why you are reacting like this, you are also a mother like me. So, I'm not offended by it”.
Right then, Erica was in the hotel alone. She didn’t know when the guide and Jenna would come back from the sea. Compared to eating alone, she’d rather have lunch with this little fellow. Hence, she didn’t refuse.
During lunch, Jordan asked where Jenna had gone.
“Oh, she went horse riding with the guide. They should be here at any time soon.”
Upon hearing it, Jordan looked quite envious. He looked at Danica expectantly.
Danica took a sip of the tea.
She said in a flat tone, “You can’t swim. If you go there, you can only pile things with the sand on the beach. It doesn’t matter where you pile.”
“Why? Jordan, you also want to go there?” asked Erica. she was quite skeptical about it but seeing that an opportunity has presented itself, the little boy should be allowed to have a great vacation right here.
Seeing Jordan nod, she suggested, “Miss Medina, why don’t you take him there. I heard that the horse ride is only around the seaside and is not far from here. It’s only a ten-minute walk down there from the pier.”
Danica pondered for a while. Looking down at Jordan, whose eyes were full of expectation, she thought for a moment and nodded, “OK. Let’s go there after lunch.”
“That’s right. Since you’ve brought him out for fun, you can’t let him stay all the time in the hotel, can you?”
Erica was quite happy with Danica’s attitude. Although she was not capable to take care of her son, she was willing to listen to others with an open mind.
Although it's acting from her side it was good for the kid.
. It seemed that she was not hopeless after all.
After lunch, Erica pulled out a jar of the sunscreen cream from her bag and handed it over to Danica.
“Take this along. Apply once every hour for Jordan. Don’t let him get the sunburn again.”
Danica didn’t take it over as her assistant quickly took it.
she said seriously, “Jordan means you’ll come with us.”
Danica was in desperate need of free time together with her so that she could bring up the issue of the collaboration but there have been no such chances yet.
“What? No... I won’t go.”
At the thought of going out to sea, Erica had a touch of resistance in her eyes. She hurriedly waved her hands, “I can’t go.”
As soon as she finished her words, she felt her sleeve tighten. Looking down, she saw Jordan hold her sleeve pitifully and look at her expectantly. He held a sticky note, on which there was a line: “I want you to go with me.”
Erica was stunned for a moment. Stroking Jordan’s head, suddenly she became soft-hearted.
“All right. I need to change my clothes before I come with you guys”.
She smiled at Danica as she turned around to leave.
why was the child acting like that? Did Danica do something to make him this timid that he can't speak up? I wonder what else that woman is capable of.
While drowned in her thoughts. she failed to pay attention to where she was going, so she almost fells down but she quickly got hold of herself.
She turn around to see Danica smiling at her, she returned the smile.
Just as she took a few steps. She heard someone shout her name from the other direction, “Mommy!”
