Chapter 103: A Love Against all Odds.
Alessandro’s POV
Lena rushed forward, grabbing a ceremonial dagger from the altar. Straight for Damian.
But I stopped her, gripping her wrist before she could strike. “It’s over, Lena. Your wicked plan is over.”
She struggled against my hold, her eyes wild with desperation.
“Let me go!” she screamed.
Leonardo walked toward us, his eyes cold and unwavering.
“You think you can just force anyone to do your bidding, but you are wrong, Lena. I don’t love you, and I never will.”
Lena suddenly stopped struggling, her breath coming out in sharp, angry gasps.
Slowly, she turned to face Leonardo, her eyes filled with pure hatred.
“You think you’ve won,” she hissed.
“But you are wrong.”
Her lips curled into a sinister smirk.
“I will never allow you to see your precious Aurora again!”
Leonardo’s face darkened, his entire body tensing.
“Where is she?” he demanded.
Lena only laughed, stepping back.
“Too late,” she taunted.
“By now, she’s already—”
Before she could finish, Leonardo grabbed her shoulders, shaking her.
“WHERE IS SHE?!”
Here’s your continuation:
But Lena only smirked wider, her silence more terrifying than any threat she could have spoken.
“Answer me! Where is she?!”
She scoffed, her eyes blazing with cruel satisfaction.
“You think I will let you be with her?
Never! That bitch deserves to die!”
Leonardo roared, his entire body shaking with fury. “WHERE IS SHE?!”
Lena just threw her head back and laughed. “Hahahaha!”
Gabriel and Rafael quickly grabbed Leonardo's arms to stop him from attacking Lena.
They knew how angry he was and that he was about to hurt her badly.
Lena snarled at him, her voice full of hate.
"If I can't have you, Leonardo, then nobody can!"
Leonardo struggled against his brothers' hold, breathing heavily. His entire body trembled with barely contained fury.
“I swear, Lena, if anything happens to her—”
Lena’s smirk never faded. She turned her head, eyes shining with satisfaction.
“Oh, I’m so scared…” She spoke with a sarcastic tone.
Leonardo's jaw tightened, his fists trembling with anger. He badly wanted to remove the smug smile from her face, but he knew arguing with her wouldn't help him find Aurora.
Just as he was about to ask again where she was, I spoke.
“Guards!”
The big doors opened, and everyone in the hall became quiet as Aurora walked in.
Her clothes were dirty, and her hair was a bit messy, but she looked okay.
Gasps echoed around the room.
Lena’s eyes widened in pure disbelief.
“How…did you…?
I mean…how are…?”
“Alive?” I finished for her, a smirk forming on my lips.
Lena turned sharply to face me, her face filled with panic.
I scoffed.
“You see, Lena. You might always think ahead, but I always think much more ahead than you.”
Aurora took a few steps forward, locking eyes with Lena.
“You failed, Lena. Just like you were always meant to.”
Lena clenched her fists, her breathing uneven.
“No… this isn’t happening.”
I crossed my arms. “Oh, it’s happening. And now, Lena, it’s over for you.”
“No! I saw my men grab you and take you away to kill you!” Lena shouted, her voice shaking with disbelief.
I nodded, a smirk playing on my lips.
“Yeah, you tried to kidnap her and use her to force Leonardo to marry you just in case he decided not to go through with the wedding.
But you see, Lena… I thought about it.
I realized that if one plan doesn’t go the way you want, it’s best to have a backup plan. And Aurora? She was your backup plan.”
Lena’s eyes widened slightly, but I continued.
“So, you know what I did? When I heard Marcus was killed in the cell, I knew Damian’s life would be in danger.
So, I faked his body and placed it in the location where we were hidden.
Why?
Because I knew you had someone follow Rafael that morning when he was taking his shift watching Damian.
So, I followed your precious guard and found out that he reported it told you that we had rescued Damian.
That’s when you decided to send someone to kill Damian and also kidnap Aurora as your backup plan.”
Lena’s face darkened, but I wasn’t done yet.
“So, I told Rafael to play dumb. I knew you wouldn’t kill an Alpha’s son.
You had your men knock Rafael unconscious, and since they had no idea what Damian looked like, they just rushed at him on the bed and stabbed him multiple times never realizing they were stabbing an already dead corpse.” I smirked.
“And then they reported it back to you, and you were so proud, thinking everything was going exactly the way you wanted.”
Lena’s fists clenched, her breathing ragged, but I delivered the final blow.
“Then you sent more of your men to kidnap Aurora. That was your biggest mistake because I was waiting for them.
I knocked them out and made one of them give you false information that she had been successfully taken care of.”
Lena’s face twisted with fury. “Ahhhhhh!” she screamed in rage.
Leonardo rushed to Aurora, wrapping his arms around her.
“Oh, Aurora. I was so worried about you.”
Aurora held onto him tightly, relief washing over her face.
Lena turned back to me, her face filled with hatred.
“Alessandro… you…”
Lena’s whole body trembled with fury, her hands balling into fists. She looked around the room, as if searching for an escape, but there was none.
“You ruined everything!” she spat, glaring at me.
“No, Lena,” I said coolly. “You did that yourself.”
She let out a bitter laugh, shaking her head. “You think this is over? You think you’ve won?”
Her gaze turned toward her father, Alpha Maverick, who was watching everything unfold with a hardened face.
Alpha John turned to Maverick, his voice full of anger.
“You knew about this, didn’t you?”
Maverick stood, his face unreadable.
“John, listen—”
“No!
Enough of your lies!” my father roared.
“You and your daughter have betrayed this pack. You’ve manipulated me, forced my son into this ridiculous marriage, and now, you dare to act like victims?”
Lena’s face twisted in desperation. “Father, do something!” she yelled.
But Maverick didn’t move. Instead, he exhaled sharply, realizing that there was no way out of this. The evidence was too damning.
Leonardo stepped forward, his voice cold and dangerous.
“You did all this for what? To prove that you can get whatever you want?
But I hate to break it to you, Lena you didn’t get me. I have never loved you. I love only one woman, and that is Aurora.”
Gasps filled the wedding hall.
Alpha John turned sharply to face him, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief.
“You what?!”
Leonardo met his gaze head-on, his stance unwavering. “Yes, Father.
I’m in love with Aurora, my step-sister.”
The murmurs in the hall grew louder, whispers of scandal and disbelief rippling through the crowd.
I stood still, watching silently. This was Leonardo’s moment.
“I know I lied to you before,” Leonardo continued, his voice steady.
“And I regret it more than anything. But I won’t lie anymore. I won’t hide anymore.” He inhaled deeply.
“I spent so much of my life trying to please you, doing what you expected of me.
And in doing that, I hurt the one woman I love. All for the sake of duty.”
He shook his head.
“But not anymore.”
His eyes shifted to Aurora, who looked back at him, surprised.
“Aurora is the only woman for me, and I’m not afraid to say it anymore.”
Alpha John scoffed in disbelief, placing his hands on his waist. His jaw clenched as he processed his son’s words.
“You expect me to accept this? After everything?” he said, his voice tight with anger.
Leonardo straightened his shoulders. “I don’t expect you to understand. But I won’t deny my feelings anymore.”
The tension in the room was suffocating.
And then, Lena laughed. A sharp, bitter sound that cut through the air.
“Oh, this is just perfect,” she sneered, her voice dripping with mockery.
“You really think Alpha John would allow you to be with your step-sister?
Nah… that wouldn’t be right, Leonardo.” She turned her head, eyes gleaming with twisted satisfaction.
“You see… he’s married to Aurora’s mother, who we all know is nothing but a drug addict.
She has tainted the image of this pack more times than we can count.”
Gasps and murmurs filled the hall, the weight of her words settling over everyone.
Lena smirked.
“And let’s not forget who’s always been the good and obedient son? Alessandro.
He’s the one who’s been cleaning up all the messes.
But still—” she turned back to Alpha John, her voice sharp as a blade
“he would never allow you to be with your step-sister.” She stepped closer, her eyes burning into Leonardo’s.
“It’s an abomination.”
Alpha John's face turned angry, his jaw tightening. The whispers in the hall got louder, with some people shocked and others criticizing.
Leonardo, however, didn’t flinch. His eyes stayed locked on his father.
“I don’t care what anyone thinks. I love Aurora, and nothing is going to change that.”
Lena scoffed. “Oh, how noble. But tell me, Leonardo, do you think Aurora still feels the same?”
She turned to where Aurora stood, her face difficult to read.
“Will you ruin her life just to prove a point?”
Aurora didn’t say anything as everything must have been too much for her.
Gasps, whispers, outrage. Some elders shook their heads, others exchanged uneasy glances.
Alpha John took a step forward, his voice like thunder.
“Enough.”
The room fell silent.
His piercing eyes settled on Leonardo and Aurora.
“Do you have any idea what you’re saying? What this will mean?”
Leonardo nodded. “I do. And I’m willing to fight for it.”
Lena’s smirk wavered. “You’re making a mistake, Leonardo.”
Leonardo turned back to her, his face cold.
“The only mistake I ever made was being with you in the first place.”
Lena’s hands curled into fists. “You will regret this.”
I suddenly stepped forward.
“No, Lena. You’re the only one who will.”
I turned to the guards standing at the edges of the room.
“Take her and her father away. Their crimes against this pack end today.”
The guards moved swiftly. Lena screamed in rage as they grabbed her arms.
“You’ll all pay for this!
You hear me?!
You’ll never be free of me!”
