Interrupted
Aurora’s POV
As I lay there, still reeling from the intensity of our passion, I couldn't help but wonder who could be interrupting us at such a crucial moment. Leonardo's eyes furrowed, his grip on me tightening as he whispered, "Don't move."
I froze, my heart pounding, as he cautiously approached the door. The knock came again, this time louder and more insistent. Leonardo's eyes flashed with annoyance, but he composed himself before calling out, “Who is it?”
The voice on the other side of the door was muffled, but it sent a shiver down my spine. "Leonardo, it's me, Rafael. You guys have to return to the pack house. Father is back." Rafael's voice was filled with a sense of urgency, and I could sense a hint of fear beneath the surface.
My eyes opened wide in shock, and I sat up straight, my mind racing. "But I thought you guys said he and my mother went to handle pack matters and wouldn't be back until the following morning," I exclaimed, my voice low. I threw off the covers and swung my legs over the side of the bed, my feet dangling in the air.
Leonardo's face turned grim, his eyes furrowed as he turned to me. "It seems plans have changed," he said, his voice low and even. He strode back to the bed, his movements swift and purposeful, and grasped my hand, pulling me to my feet.
I felt a jolt of electricity as our palms touched, and my heart skipped a beat. "What does this mean?" I asked, my voice filled with concern, as I tried to process the sudden turn of events.
Leonardo's grip on my hand tightened. "It means we need to leave. Now." His voice was low and urgent. "Get dressed, quickly," he added, his eyes scanning the room as if anticipating an interruption.
I nodded, feeling a surge of disappointment, and quickly bent down to pick up my skirt and top, which were scattered on the floor. Meanwhile, Leonardo grabbed his boxers and trousers, his movements swift and efficient.
I couldn't help but feel frustrated as I hastily got dressed. We were in the middle of a special moment, and my stepfather's untimely interruption had ruined it. I shot a glance at Leonardo, who seemed to sense my inner struggles.
He came towards me, his eyes filled with understanding, and gently kissed my forehead. "I know we were interrupted, but don't worry, Aurora," he whispered, his voice soothing. "We will get another chance, and I promise you, I won't let anyone disturb us. It will be just you and me against the world." He smiled reassuringly, his fingers brushing against mine as he took my hand again.
As we stood there, I felt a sense of comfort and determination wash over me. We would find a way to be together, no matter what obstacles came our way. He pulled me toward the door, his movements swift and decisive.
As we reached the door, Rafael's voice came again, more insistent. "Leonardo, hurry! Father is not in a good mood."
Leonardo's eyes focused on me, intense. "Stay close to me," he whispered, before opening the door to reveal Rafael's worried face.
“Come on. Let’s head back to the pack house before he gets back.”
“What happened? I thought Father wasn’t supposed to come until tomorrow.” I
Rafael shrugged. “I don’t know, but something must have made him change his mind and return to the pack.”
As we walked, I felt a mix of comfort and determination. We would be together, no matter what. Leonardo pulled me towards the pack house, moving quickly and decisively. When we reached the pack house, Rafael's voice came again, sounding more urgent. "Leonardo, hurry! Father is not happy."
Leonardo looked at me intensely. "Stay close to me," he whispered, before opening the door. Rafael's worried face appeared. "Come on, let's go back to the pack house before he gets back."
"What happened?" I asked. "I thought Father wasn't coming until tomorrow."
Rafael shrugged. "I don't know, but something must have made him change his mind and return to the pack."
As we walked, I wondered what had made Leonardo's father return early. What would happen when we got back to the pack house? I felt a sense of uncertainty and fear, but Leonardo's hand in mine gave me courage.
We arrived back at the pack house and noticed that Alpha John was already there, his presence commanding attention. He stood tall, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for someone. His expression was stern, and I could sense a hint of anger in the air.
"Ah, Leonardo, good, you're here," Alpha John said, his voice firm but controlled. "I need to speak with you, now." He turned and walked towards his office, expecting Leonardo to follow.
Leonardo squeezed my hand before letting go and following his father. Rafael and I exchanged worried glances. What was going on? Why was Alpha John so upset? I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing heart, wondering what would happen next.
Just then, Alessandro walked into the room where we were standing. "I guess your date was short-lived," he said with a smirk on his face. The look on his face made me realize that it was Alessandro all along.
"You did this?" I accused, my voice rising. "You called your father back to the pack house because of us?"
Alessandro grinned. "Bingo!"
I took a step forward, my eyes narrowing. "You see, Aurora, I don't believe you and my brother Leonardo are meant for each other, and I will make sure that doesn't happen."
I raised an eyebrow, furrowed in confusion. "What are you talking about? Why would you interfere with our relationship?"
Alessandro snorted. "You're not good enough for Leonardo. You're not one of us, Aurora. You're an outsider, and I won't let you ruin my family's legacy."
Rafael stepped forward, his eyes flashing with anger. "Alessandro, that's enough. You have no right to decide who Leonardo can and can't be with."
"No, that's where you're wrong, Rafael. I have every right to do what I have to do to protect this family's legacy. And as long as she's here, our family's secrets and traditions are at risk."
I felt a surge of anger at Alessandro's words. "How dare you," I said, my voice shaking. "I've done nothing to hurt your family or your legacy."
Alessandro scoffed. "Your very presence is a threat. Ever since you joined this family, you have brought nothing but problems, Aurora. You can't be trusted with our secrets. And Leonardo, blinded by his feelings for you, is willing to risk everything for you."
Leonardo appeared at my side, his eyes flashing with anger. "That's enough, Alessandro. You have no right to speak about Aurora like that."
Alessandro smirked. "Oh, but I do. I'm the one who's been protecting this family's interests while you've been off gallivanting with your stepsister. Wait, did you sleep with her too?”
I raised my brow in confusion. “What is he talking about, Leonardo?”
“You haven’t told her, huh?”
Rafael tried to stop Alessandro, but he removed his hand. “Did you know that he’s been sleeping with his mate or should I say ex-mate before you came into the picture, and he even slept with her last week before he asked you out. And you think that my brother would be faithful to you?”
“That’s enough!” Leonardo yelled, his hand clenched into a fist at his side, staring into Alessandro’s eyes with anger.
Alessandro just stood there smiling.
