Betrayal and Resentment.

Alessandro’s POV

I was getting bored and about to leave the sitting room when my last brother, Gabriel walked into the room.

He smiled upon seeing Lena and waved at her which she responded to with a forced smile. I wonder what's up with her.

“Alessandro are you still mad at me because of what I did?” he asked me, as he sat on the couch.

I didn’t answer him and just focused my attention on my phone as Lena was watching a movie on Tv.

“So…you’re not going to talk to me, huh?”

I still didn’t say anything.

“Look am sorry, Alessandro. I just felt you needed to let out some steam. You know…. You are a handsome guy and a lot of female betas wants you as their mate. You should be proud.”

I turned my gaze at Gabriel, anger and betrayal evident in my eyes.

"You drugged me, didn't you? You and Rafael planned this whole thing!"

Gabriel's face faltered, and he looked away, guilty.

"Alessandro, I—"

"You took advantage of me, Gabriel! You know how I feel about consent and respect, and you threw that all out the window just to play a sick joke on me!"

Lena's eyes widened in shock, and she turned to Gabriel.

"Is this true?

Did you really drug Alessandro without his knowledge or consent?"

Gabriel's silence was all the confirmation I needed. I felt a wave of nausea wash over me as memories of the previous night came flooding back. The hazy recollections, the unfamiliar surroundings, the feeling of being completely out of control…

Just then, Leonardo walked into the sitting room, his eyes scanning the tense atmosphere.

He sat down on the armchair, his movements deliberate, and cleared his throat to announce his presence.

The awkward silence in the room was palpable, and he knew something was definitely up.

But he didn't say anything to me, his gaze avoiding mine as we still had unresolved issues from our argument earlier that day, courtesy of that annoying thing called Aurora.

Gabriel broke the silence, his voice hesitant.

"I received a call from Dad." He paused, fidgeting with his hands, and I raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue.

Leonardo and Lena turned their gazes to him, their faces curious.

Gabriel took a deep breath before delivering the bombshell.

"Father will be coming back tomorrow with his new wife."

He emphasized the last part, his eyes looking around the room.

"So, we are expected to be outside and welcome her fully to the pack... as our Luna."

I scoffed, my disbelief evident.

"Our Luna?"

I repeated, my voice filled with sarcasm, as I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I leaned back into the couch, my arms crossed, and my gaze fixed on Gabriel, daring him to explain. My eyes seemed to say.

"You've got to be kidding me."

“That’s what father would want.” Leonardo spoke up, his deep voice calm and measured, but his eyes betrayed a hint of unease.

He shifted in his seat, his eyes flicking between Gabriel and me, as if trying to mediate.

“We should respect his wishes.”

I raised an eyebrow, my skepticism evident.

“Respect his wishes?” I repeated, my tone filled with disbelief.

“You mean, like he respected Mom’s memory by remarrying so quickly?”

Gabriel held up his hands, placating.

“Alessandro, come on. It’s not like that. Father loves us, and he wants what’s best for the pack.”

I scoffed, my arms still crossed.

“What’s best for the pack? Or what’s best for him and his new bride?”

Lena intervened, her voice soft but firm.

"Alessandro, let's not jump to conclusions. We don't know anything about her yet. Maybe she's wonderful, and we'll all get along," Lena said, her voice calm and reasonable.

I sighed, feeling the tension in the room. I stood up, my eyes flashing with anger. "I don't intend to welcome someone I clearly don't want as part of this family.

And as for that little bug named Aurora, I will never accept her as part of this family. Never!" I spat, my voice mean.

Just then, Rafael walked into the room, a cheerful smile on his face.

"Dinner's ready, everyone! Let's head to the dining table."

We all got up and made our way to the table, the tension momentarily forgotten.

We sat down, and Rafael and the maids began serving the food. But just as we were about to take our first bites, my eyes met Aurora's, and my face darkened with rage.

"Everyone, Aurora and I made this delicious dinner, so... enjoy!" Rafael announced, his smile faltering as he sensed the tension.

I dropped my cutlery hard on the table, the clang echoing through the room. "Wait... you helped cook this food?" I spat, my voice venomous.

Rafael tried to explain, "Um... she helped out, so she didn't entirely prepare the food, Alessandro." I refused to accept his explanation.

I laughed a mocking laugh, my eyes never leaving Aurora's face. "I have lost my appetite," I sneered, my chair scraping against the floor as I stood up from the table.

My eyes locked onto Aurora, my gaze burning with anger and resentment. With that, I stormed out of the dining hall, leaving the stunned silence and the weight of my family's disapproval behind.

I went straight to my office, slamming the door shut behind me, my mind seething with thoughts of Aurora and her manipulation.

"Ugh!

I can't believe she's here,"

I muttered to myself, pacing around my office.

"Aurora, my new step-sister, with her fake smile and her manipulative ways. I don't want her in my family, I don't want her in my life."

I stopped pacing and slammed my fist on the desk.

"Why did Father have to go and marry her mother?

Why did he have to bring her into our family?"

I took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but my anger and frustration only seemed to grow.

I didn't want Aurora here, I didn't want her to be a part of our family. I wished she had never come into our lives.

Just then, a knock on the door brought me back to reality. "Enter," I growled, not bothering to hide my annoyance.

The door opened….
