Threats and Promises.

Aurora’s POV

I turned around, my heart beating, as Alessandro's voice cut through the air behind me.

His sudden appearance was the last thing I needed in this already awkward moment.

"What the hell are you doing here?

Lurking outside Leonardo's office?"

I tried to speak, but my words got stuck in my throat. I stammered, my mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.

"I...I...".

Alessandro raised an eyebrow, his eyes shining with delight

"You what? Cat got your tongue?"

I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs.

"I...um...was just..."

My voice trailed off as I fumbled for an excuse.

Alessandro's smirk grew wider.

"Spying on someone enjoying himself, huh?"

He crossed his arms, his eyes never leaving mine. I felt my face heat up with embarrassment.

"Uh...no...I was just...taking a walk around the pack house and heard a sound...and..."

My voice fell flat as Alessandro's eyes bore into me.

"And you got so curious you decided to take a sneak peek, huh?"

He took a step closer, his eyes shining with mischief.

I tried to back away, but Alessandro was too quick.

He grabbed my hand, his grip firm but gentle, and pulled me close to him.

I felt a jolt of electricity as our bodies touched.

"What are you doing?" I asked, trying to sound firm despite my beating heart.

"What are you doing?"

I asked, trying to sound firm despite my racing heart.

Alessandro's smile grew wider, his eyes sparkling with intent.

"What do you think I want to do?"

He whispered softly in my ear, making my skin tingle. I felt caught and vulnerable in his grasp.

His hand moved down to my waist, then to my thigh. I didn't understand what he was trying to do, but I knew I didn't like it.

I tried to push him away, but he held me firm.

"Alessandro, stop." I said, trying to sound brave. But my voice trembled, betraying my fear.

His grip on my hand tightened, his fingers intertwining with mine in a gentle yet unyielding hold.

His warm breath danced across my skin, sending shivers down my spine.

"You're so predictable, Aurora," he whispered, his voice low and husky.

"You think you can outsmart me, but you're just digging yourself deeper into this mess."

I tried to pull away again, but he held me fast. His eyes gleamed with a knowing light, as if he could see right through me.

"What mess?"

I asked, trying to sound defiant, but my voice came out low.

Alessandro's smile grew wider, his teeth gleaming in the dim light of the corridor.

"The mess you've been trying to avoid, Aurora. The mess that's been waiting for you all along."

Suddenly, the door of the room we were standing in front of swung open, and Leonardo came out, his eyes burning with anger.

When he saw Alessandro's hand on mine, he rushed at him, his fist flying in a swift motion.

I was shocked by such a sudden and violent action, as I had never seen Leonardo angry enough to punch his own brother.

Alessandro held his face, his eyes widening in surprise, and turned to face Leonardo.

"Did you just punch me?"

Alessandro spat, his voice filled with anger and disbelief.

Leonardo's chest heaved with rage, his eyes flashing with a fierce intensity.

"You're lucky I didn't do worse." he growled, his voice low and angry.

"What do you think you're doing, Alessandro?

She's under my protection."

Alessandro's face darkened, his eyes furrowed into slits.

"And what business is it of yours?" he scoffed, his voice filled with boldness.

"Or are you just trying to keep her all to yourself?"

The air was thick with tension as the two brothers glared at each other, their hatred clear. I felt like a small, weak piece caught in the middle of their fight.

"Ever since she came around, you have been nothing but hostile towards her. What's your problem, huh?" Leonardo asked, his voice serious.

Alessandro scoffed.

"My problem is that you're so obsessed with her," he spat, his voice laced with venom.

"You're always trying to keep her close, like she's some kind of prize to be won. Newsflash, Leonardo: she's not a trophy to be collected."

Leonardo's eyes flashed with anger, his fists clenched at his sides.

"You have no idea what you're talking about," he growled, his voice low and angry.

"Aurora is under my protection, and I won't let anyone harm her." Leonardo continued.

Alessandro snorted.

"Protection?

Is that what you call it?

Or are you just trying to keep her all to yourself?"

"I don't care what you think, Alessandro. Just stay away from her. She means no harm to you or anyone else in this pack.

She's our new step-sister, and you have to accept that whether you like it or not." Leonardo said, his face set in a serious expression.

Alessandro's eyes furrowed, his eyes flashing with anger.

"And what if I don't want to accept it?" he scoffed, his voice filled with rebellion.

"What if I think she's a threat to our pack, to our way of life?"

Leonardo's eyes burned with anger, his voice rising.

"She's not a threat, Alessandro!

She's just a lost, scared girl who needs our help. And as our step-sister, she deserves our protection and support." Leonardo said, his voice serious.

"Support?"

Alessandro scoffed, his voice laced with disdain.

"She doesn't need our support. She doesn't belong here and should leave while I'm still playing nice."

Leonardo's eyes flashed with anger, his jaw clenched in frustration.

"You're not even giving her a chance, Alessandro.

She's our family now, and we need to stick together."

Alessandro snorted, his expression mocking.

"Family?

You call her family?

She's a stranger, Leonardo.

A weak, vulnerable stranger who's going to get us all killed."

"Alessandro's words scared me. He was clearly against me. Leonardo's face turned dark and angry, his eyes flashing with a strong desire to protect me.

"That's enough, Alessandro," he growled in a low, threatening voice.

"You'll be sorry you said that."

He smiled a sly smile, tucked his hands into his pockets, and leaned back on his heels.

“Just make sure she doesn't cross paths with me, because I don't know what I would do to her if I ever lay eyes on her again.”

With that, he gave me a final, threatening glance and walked away, leaving us standing there in an uncomfortable silence…..
