Family Fractures.

Alessandro’s POV

"Shit!"

I groaned as I tossed on the bed visibly aware of the satin sheets rubbing against my naked skin. I sat up with a start and held my throbbing head.

Looking at the similarly naked woman on the other side of the bed with a disgust that suddenly rose in me, I wondered why I was in bed naked and who she was.

I can remember having a night out with my brothers and friends. So how did I end up naked with this strange woman?

“Max?” I called out to my wolf as he was unusually quiet.

“What happened last night?”

“Give me the chance to wrestle Gabriel and Rafael to the ground when next we meet.” He growled in response and I was quick to hear the grogginess in his voice.

“Did he spike our drink again?” I gritted.

“The last thing I remembered was investigating the death of beta Rachel and the rest is a blur…”

I wasn’t interested in woman, but they wouldn’t stop throwing themselves at me and my stupid brothers weren’t helping, especially, Gabriel.

He's the most cunning of us all and has constantly drugged me in the past just to get me in bed with unknown women.

"Hmm."

The slut on the bed moaned and turned to get closer to me but I evaded her touch and got out of the bed.

“We should get out of here before she wakes up. I can't stand her any longer.”

Max voiced out his complaints as I bent down to pick up my discarded clothes.

“That's what I'm doing.”

Hardly had I step out of the room when my phone rang. I answered the call on the second ring and growled.

"I swear I'm gonna fucking kill you when I see you!"

"Ha ah ha ha ha!" I could hear my brothers roar in laughter over the phone.

"Chill bro, Marcus got news for you. He tried calling you earlier but I guess you were too indulged in the pleasures, you couldn't pick up the phone."

Gabriel teased and another round of laughter ensued.

I gritted angrily as I walked; ignoring the servants bowing to me as I passed. I could hear some scuffle over the phone before my beta, Marcus's voice came up.

"Sir Alessandro, we've got troublesome news."

The laughter ceased and my face grew taut.

"What is it?"

"Another wolf was found dead. Her throat was slit just like beta Rachel.”

My lips pursed tightly; attack? This is the second death within 24 hours and the mysterious deaths of wolves at our pack is now getting really troubling.

I had predicted that it must have been an inside job and not an outside job despite our alliance with so many other packs, there might be a mole in our pack that is trying to cause chaos. I have to find out who that person is and stopped him before he causes more damage.

Although we have never had any allies or conflicts with the demons in the past, we couldn't just pinpoint them as the killers.

"I'll meet you at the doctor’s examination office and tell those douchebags that they should be there too."
Marcus didn't need to ask who I was referring to as I ended the call. But just as I was about to enter the car, a servant came running.

"Sir, your companion from the previous night is awake and has requested your presence."

"Kick her out. I don't want to see her again."

I spat out coldly without batting an eye before getting into the car.

The servant wasn't surprised at my response as he was already used to hearing it. He turned around to carry out my instructions immediately.

______

When I got to the doctor's examination office, my brothers Rafael and Gabriel, along with Marcus, were already there with the doctor.

"Alessandro, thanks for joining us."

The doctor said with a warm smile. I gave Gabriel a cold stare, still seething with anger over what he had done to me the night before.

But I knew this wasn't the right time or place to discuss it.

"You can go ahead, Doctor." I said curtly.

The doctor nodded.

"Thank you, Alessandro. According to the autopsy results, the victim's throat was slit, just like Beta Rachel's."

Rafael's eyes furrowed.

"So, we're dealing with the same killer?"

The doctor hesitated. "It seems likely, but there are some differences in the wounds.

I'll need to run some more tests to be certain."

Gabriel spoke up, his voice filled with concern.

"What about the security footage?

Did it capture anything useful?"

Marcus shook his head.

"Unfortunately, the cameras in the area were disabled around the time of the murder.

We're still reviewing the footage, but so far, we haven't found anything concrete."

I clenched my fists, my anger and frustration boiling over.

"We need to find this killer, and fast. We can't let them strike again."

Rafael placed a hand on my shoulder. "We will, Alessandro. We'll work together to make sure justice is served." But I shook him off, my mind still shocked from the events of the previous night.

"Get your hands off me, Rafael," I spat, my eyes blazing with anger. "I know you were in on this too."

Rafael's eyes widened in surprise, and he took a step back. "Alessandro, what are you talking about? I had nothing to do with—"

"Don't lie to me!" I interrupted, my voice rising. “I know you agreed with Gabriel to spike my drink last night to get me to sleep with a beta.”

Rafael's face went white, and he looked like he'd been punched in the gut. "Alessandro, I...I can explain," he stuttered.

But I wasn't having it. "Explain what? How you and Gabriel manipulated me? How you used me for your own sick games?"

Gabriel stepped forward, his eyes pleading.

"Alessandro, listen to us. We didn't mean to hurt you.

We just wanted to...to help you relax."
I laughed, a cold, bitter sound.

"Help me relax?

By drugging me and taking advantage of me?

You call that help?"

“Yeah, dude.”

Rafael continued, his tone measured.

“You've been tensed up ever since Father revealed that he was getting married to Aurora's mother, and now that they're married, you can't seem to get your act together. You constantly say words to annoy Aurora, as if she's the cause of everything.”

I shook my head, feeling a familiar surge of anger and resentment.

“You don't get it, Rafael. You never have. Father's marriage to Aurora's mother is a joke.

And Aurora...she's just a constant reminder of everything I've lost.”

Rafael sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

“Alessandro, you're not thinking clearly. You're letting your emotions cloud your judgment. Aurora's not the enemy here.”

But I wasn't listening. I was too far gone, consumed by my own bitter thoughts and feelings of betrayal.

I turned and walked away, leaving Rafael and Gabriel to watch me go with concerned faces.

I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I needed to escape the suffocating tension. I needed some fresh air to clear my head.

But fate had other plans. There, standing in front of me, was the one person I least wanted to see.

“Aurora.” I said, my voice cold and detached.
