Chapter 31: Betrayal and Rejection.

Leonardo’s POV

"Bang!

Bang!!

Bang!!!

I groaned and threw my head back against the bed, frustrated. Aurora and I were always getting interrupted at the worst times. Like now, when I was lying on top of her, our bodies pressed together.

"Who is that?" Aurora asked, her voice filled with concern, as I reluctantly stood up from our cozy embrace.

I sighed deeply, running a hand through my hair. "It's Lena." I said, my tone resigned.

Aurora's eyes widened in shock, and she hastily pulled the duvet up to cover herself, her cheeks flushing.

"Lena?

What the hell is she doing here?

And how did she know we were here?" She whispered urgently, her gaze looking towards the door.

I placed a hand over my face, feeling my frustration mount. I already knew who was behind this interruption.

"Alessandro!" I muttered to myself, clenching my fist in anger.

"That son of a bitch!"

The relentless knocking continued, growing louder and more insistent. I knew I couldn't ignore it forever.

Aurora's voice trembled with concern.

"What are we going to do?

If she sees me with you, she might tell your father, and then the whole pack would know about us."

She quickly threw off the blanket and started grabbing her clothes, looking worried.

I didn't care what happened next. I wanted everyone to know that I had found my mate, someone I loved. But Aurora had told me that we should keep our relationship a secret from the rest of the pack.

I understood why Aurora was worried. If the pack found out we were together, it would cause big problems. We were stepbrother and stepsister, after all. The pack would not approve of us being mates.

I took a deep breath, got ready for a fight, and walked to the door.

I grabbed the door knob and then I hesitated, feeling unsure. What if Lena had brought others?

What if they were here to fight us about our relationship? I looked back at Aurora, who was watching me with worried eyes.

I took a deep breath and opened the door. Lena stood there, still trying to knock.

She turned to look at Aurora, and her eyes turned red with anger.

“You...bitch!” she shouted, pushing me aside to enter the room.

She stormed in, her fists clenched, and her face twisted in rage.

“How could you, Aurora?” she spat, her voice echoing off the wall.

“He's your stepbrother!”

Aurora shrank back, fear in her eyes.

I stepped forward, trying to protect her.

“Lena, calm down,” I said, but she wasn't listening.

She was furious, her anger boiling over.

“You're disgusting!” she shouted again, her voice hoarse.

“You're supposed to be siblings, not...not lovers!” She spat the word out like it was poison.

I stood my ground, trying to reason with her.

“Lena, it's not like that. We're not related by blood. And even if we were, our feelings for each other are real.”

She turned to me and slapped me hard on my face.

I felt a stinging sensation on my cheek, and my head jerked back from the force of the slap. Aurora gasped, shocked.

“You're sick!” she screamed, her voice echoing off the walls.

Aurora, who had gotten dressed, stood up and left the room, trying to escape the tension.

But Lena wanted to follow her and grab her, but I held her hand to stop her from doing so.

“Let go of me, you piece of shit!” she shouted, struggling to free her hand from mine.

“Leave her out of this!

Whatever you want to say, say it to me.”

I held firm, trying to protect Aurora from Lena's wrath. Lena's face twisted in anger, she spat at me,

“You're just like her, a disgusting, filthy…”.

But I cut her off, my voice firm,

“That's enough, Lena. You're not going to hurt her, or me, with your words.”

She began crying, her body shaking with sobs.

“How could you be in love with your step-sister, Leo?

It's...so...wrong!” she exclaimed, her voice cracking with emotion.

I tried to reason with her, “Lena, we're not related by blood. And even if we were, our feelings for each other are real. We can't help how we feel.”

But she just shook her head, her eyes streaming with tears.

“You're disgusting, Leo. Both of you. I don't even want to look at you right now.”

I scoffed as I looked away from her, my hand on my hip.

She turned and looked at me, with a confused expression on her face.

“You scoffed?

After you cheated on me, you scoffed?” she asked, her voice filled with hurt and anger.

I scoffed again, trying to appear nonchalant.

“Oh, come on. Don't act like you're so innocent. You're not exactly perfect either.” I said, trying to deflect the attention from my own mistakes.

“What are you talking about?” she asked, her face confused.

I took a step closer to her, my eyes never leaving hers.

“Lena, you thought I wouldn't know about your affair with my uncle.”

Her eyes widened in shock as she placed her hand over her mouth.

I smirked in anger.

“We were mated together, but you cheating bitch! You went ahead and slept with my uncle before he left our pack, and you think I wouldn't know...?”

I scoffed, looking away, my eyes blazing with anger.

Lena took a step back, her face pale.

“H-how did you find out?” she stuttered.

I turned back to her and smirked.

“Oh...you thought I wouldn't find out, huh?”

I moved closer to her as she backed away, her eyes wide with fear, until she was pressed against the wall with nowhere to escape my angry gaze.

I closed in on her, my nostrils flaring as I began to sniff her.

“I smell his f*cking scent all over you, Lena!”

I growled, my voice low and angry. Lena stood there, dumbfounded, her eyes frozen on mine.

“If I couldn't, you know my wolf Dex could smell your cheating nature from a mile away.” I snarled, my wolf rising to the surface.

“You reek of betrayal and deceit.” I took a step closer, my hot breath on her face.

“You're lucky I don't rip you apart right here.”

Lena's eyes flashed with fear as I towered over her, my wolf's anger radiating from every pore.

She knew she was caught, and there was no escape.

"Please, Leo...listen to me..." she begged, but I cut her off.

"No, Lena. There's nothing left for you to say.

I rejected you as my mate then, and I'm rejecting you now.

I'm telling you that no matter what you do, I, Leonardo Prickette, will never make you my mate or Luna when I become alpha.

So get that into your thick skull." I said and walked away from where she was standing.

But when I got close to the door, I turned around to face her.

"Ah, and before I forget, if you ever try to hurt my mate, Aurora, I don't know what I might do to you. So be warned."

With that, I walked out of the hotel room, leaving Lena there.

As I closed the door behind me, I caught a faint whisper from the other side:

"This isn't over, Leo. You haven't seen the last of me."
