Chapter 151: The Challenge Begins
Alessandro’s POV
I didn’t want to leave Aurora, but I had no choice. The challenge was starting today, and I had to be ready to fight for the pack and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
The weight of responsibility sat heavy on my shoulders, but the pack needed me, and I couldn’t back down now.
When I arrived at the pack, Rafael and Gabriel were waiting for me outside the main entrance of the pack’s mansion.
Rafael and Gabriel looked serious, knowing how important the day was.
"Alessandro,"
Rafael said quietly, nodding at me.
His face was calm and serious, as usual.
Gabriel, standing beside him, gave me a quick, encouraging smile.
“You’re here. We were starting to think you’d be late.”
I shook my head, my eyes already searching the surroundings.
"I couldn't afford to be late," I muttered, my mind still with Aurora, even as the pack’s affairs called me back.
"The challenge is starting today. We need to make sure everything is in order."
Rafael’s eyes flickered with understanding.
"How is Aurora?
How is she taking all this?"
I sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the situation pressing on me.
"What do you think?"
I replied, my voice filled with frustration.
"She’s worried, scared… and I can’t blame her.
She’s been through so much already, and now I’m forced to pull away from her even more.
She deserves peace, but this... everything that’s happening... it’s pulling me in so many directions."
Rafael gave me a solemn look, his gaze softening a little.
"She knows what you’re doing is for the pack. But that doesn’t make it any easier.
You don’t have to shoulder this alone, Alessandro."
I tightened my jaw, feeling trapped and helpless. I was stuck between doing my duty for the pack and being with the woman I loved, Aurora.
The struggle felt like a heavy weight on my chest.
"I wish I could be two places at once," I muttered under my breath.
"I wish I could be there for her while I fight for this pack.
But I can't."
Gabriel stepped forward, his eyes filled with determination.
"You’ll make it through, Alessandro. The pack needs you, and so does Aurora.
Trust that she’ll understand, even if it hurts now. You’re fighting for all of you, her, the pack, everything.
When it’s over, you’ll have both."
I nodded, though the doubt still gnawed at me. I wanted to believe him.
I had to. For Aurora. For the pack. For everything I cared about.
"Let’s get this over with," I said, my voice more resolute now.
"The sooner it’s done, the sooner I can get back to her."
Rafael and Gabriel exchanged looks before nodding in agreement, and we moved forward, heading toward the heart of the challenge.
I could feel the weight of my decisions pressing down on me, but I had no choice but to face it.
Aurora’s face flashed in my mind again, and I forced myself to push the thoughts of her aside, focusing on the task at hand.
The future of the pack and my future with Aurora depended on it.

When I got to the challenge ground, Leonardo was already there, getting dressed for the competition.
The tension between us was thick, and I didn’t say anything to him as I made my way to my corner, silently grabbing my own gear to get ready.
The silence stretched on, the only sound being the rustle of fabric and the clink of armor.
I was focused, but I knew I couldn’t avoid him forever.
Then, suddenly, he broke the silence, his voice filled with confidence and a trace of malice.
“I will win today, brother,” he said, his eyes furrowing at me as he pulled on his gloves.
“I will take the throne and become Alpha... and I will have Aurora to myself.”
I scoffed, pulling my shirt over my head, the fabric tight against my chest as my muscles flexed.
I could feel my anger rise, but I forced it down, not wanting to show weakness before the challenge.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” I said, my voice calm but filled with a quiet threat.
"You’re going to have to do a lot more than talk to take what’s mine."
Leonardo’s lips curled into a smirk. "You always think you have everything figured out, don’t you?" he mocked.
"But you’re too soft, Alessandro. You care too much. I’ve always known how to play the game better than you."
I clenched my fists and tightened my jaw. Leonardo's words hurt, but I didn't want him to see how much he was getting to me.
“You’re wrong,” I said, my voice low and dangerous now.
“I fight for what matters.
And I’ll fight to the death to protect what’s mine Aurora, the pack… everything.”
Leonardo's smile wavered for a second, but he quickly got it back.
"We'll see about that," he muttered.
"Today, you'll learn what real power is."
I didn't respond. His words were empty, and I wasn't going to let him get to me.
Not today, when everything I cared about was at stake.
He walked away, his footsteps loud on the ground. I stayed there, taking a deep breath to calm down.
This wasn't just about beating him; it was about securing the pack's future.
I turned my attention back to my gear. I was alone now, with only my breath and heartbeat filling the quiet air.
I put on my competition attire, feeling the weight of responsibility settle over me.
The battle ahead would be brutal. I couldn't afford to make any mistakes.
The pressure was building up, but I was prepared. I had to be. I was fighting for the pack, for Aurora, and for everything that mattered.
I fixed my armor and thought of Aurora for a moment, her face, her voice, and her touch.
I made a promise to myself: I would win, no matter what. I wouldn't let Leonardo take anything away from me.
I took a deep breath, stood up straight, and walked into the arena, ready for the final showdown.
Just then, one of the pack's guards came up to me with a letter. He looked unsure and didn't say anything, just handed me the letter.
I was surprised and wondered who could be sending me a message during the competition.
The guard seemed hesitant before speaking. "Someone told me to give this to you, but I couldn't see their face."
I took the letter, feeling a sense of unease. The guard's uncertainty made me worried.
I carefully opened the envelope and read the message. As I read, my heart felt like it stopped.
"If you want to see the woman you love again, safe and sound, give up the competition and let Leonardo take the throne. If you don't, she'll die."
I gasped, my hand tightening around the paper. The words hurt me deeply, making me feel angry and scared. I couldn't think clearly, but one thing stood out the danger to Aurora.
I looked up, my eyes locking onto Leonardo, who was still standing across the arena.
He didn't know how angry I was. He looked confused when I stared at him, and I couldn't stop myself from approaching him.
Without a second thought, I rushed toward him, grabbing him by the collar and yanking him closer.
The people around us were whispering, clearly confused, but I didn't care.
I was filled with anger and desperation.
"WHERE IS AURORA?!"
I thundered, my voice echoing across the space. My grip on Leonardo's collar tightened.
Leonardo's eyes widened in surprise, like he had no idea what I was talking about.
"What are you talking about, Alessandro?" he asked, but I saw a flicker of something in his eyes.
"Don't lie to me, Leonardo!"
I shouted, my voice loud and furious. I shook him harder, my anger boiling over.
"WHERE IS SHE?!"
